Big-Bang nucleosynthesis （BBN） offers the deepest reliable probe of the early universe, being based on well-understood Standard Model physics [1]. Predictions of the abundances of the light elements, D, 3He, 4He, and 7Li, synthesized at the end of the ＇first three minutes＇, are in good overall agreement with the primordial abundances inferred from observational data, thus validating the standard hot Big-Bang cosmology （see [2-5] for reviews）.

Looking upon every encoding state of quantum information systems as a quantum information pattern, A kind of pattern-distance between different patterns as a measurement of comparability of quantum information patterns is defined, and two kinds of recognition algorithms based on pattern-distance for quantum information are proposed. They can respectively recognize quantum information with known objective pattern and unknown objective pattern. In the two algorithms, the phases and occurrence probabilities of different eigenpattems of quantum information are sufficiently considered. Two examples demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the two recognition methods. These algorithms point out a new and important path for applications of quantum information and pattern recognition.

Let V be a hypersurface with an isolated singularity at the origin in Cn+1. It is a natural question to ask when V is defined by weighted homogeneous polynomial or homogeneous polynomial up to biholomorphic change of coordinates. In 1971, a beautiful theorem of Saito gives a necessary and sufficient condition for V to be defined by a weighted homogeneous polynomial. For a two-dimensional isolated hypersurface singularity V, Xu and Yau found a coordinate free characterization for V to be defined by a homogeneous polynomial. Recently Lin and Yau gave necessary and sufficient conditions for a 3-dimensional isolated hypersurface singularity with geometric genus bigger than zero to be defined by a homogeneous polynomial. The purpose of this paper is to prove that Lin-Yau's theorem remains true for singularities with geometric genus equal to zero.

Integral abutment bridges(IABs)minimize deterioration and degradation of the abutment seats and bearings due to water,dirt,and deicing chemicals by eliminating bearings and expansion *** the continuity between superstructure and abutments in an IAB is beneficial for reducing maintenance costs,it leads to more complex behavior under strength and service loading(temperature and traffic)and extreme loading(earthquake).The coupling of superstructure and substructure behavior necessitates system-level analysis of *** seismic IAB studies have typically investigated the behavior of individual IAB components,however a gap of knowledge has developed due to the lack of studies and investigation about the behavior of all IAB components and their interactions with each other in a single analysis *** study uses nonlinear static and dynamic analyses to investigate and assess the seismic behavior of IABs typical to the state of *** analyses aim to bridge the gap of knowledge by evaluating IABs as a whole and utilizing the results to indicate potential vulnerabilities in the design and construction of IABs in illinois during design-level and larger seismic events,which could not be identified by component-level IAB analyses alone.

A series of368 cases of cervical spine injuries were collected from theSection of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation,School of Medicine,SIU and studied to definethe so-called multiple level injuries and determine the clinical patterns for the benefitof diagnosis and treatment and evaluation of surgical *** the368 cases,3o casesbelonged to multiple level injuies of the cervical spine,which were divided into threegroups:(1)cervical spine fracture associated with a thoracic or lumbar spinal fracture(12 cases),(2)non-contiguous fractures in the cervical spine(10 cases)and(3)morethan two-leVeI contiguous injuries of the CerviCa1 spine(8 cases).The mechanism of In-juries and possible results of treatment were also discussed.

Over the centuries,the regeneration field has been puzzled by the dual response of the central nervous system(CNS-brain,spinal cord,cranial nervesⅠandⅡ)and the peripheral nervous system(PNS that refers to all the nerves that innervate muscles,skin,organs,bones among others).Even Ramon y Cajal had noticed that an injury to the PNS often leads to axon regrowth,in contrast to the CNS.

Two new triterpenoid saponins named asterbatanoside H and I have been isolated from the roots of Aster batsngensis and their structures elucidated as 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3) β-D-glucopyranosyl-bayogenin-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosy-(1→6) and 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-23-O-acetyl-bayogenin-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6) β-D-glucopyranoside, respectively, by means of spectral and chemical data.

A new medicagenic acid saponin named asterbatanoside J was isolated from the roots of Aster batangensis. On the basis of chemical and spectral studies especially 2D NMR including COSY, HETCOR, HOHAHA, ROESY and HMBC techniques, its structure has been established as 3-O-beta -D-glucopyranosyl-(1 -->6)-beta -D-glucopyranosyl-2 beta ,3 beta -dihydroxy-olean-12-en-23 alpha ,28-dioic acid-28-O-alpha -L-arabinopyranosyl-(1 -->3)-alpha -L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 -->2)-beta -D-fucopyranoside.
