The machining surface integrity of aero-engine turbine disc slots has a significant impact on their fatigue life and service performance, and achieving efficiency and high-precision machining is still a great challenge. The high machining requirements of future aeroengine turbine disc slots will be difficult to satisfy using the broaching method. In addition, existing methods of slot machining face difficulties in ensuring surface integrity. This study explored a cup shaped electroplated Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) abrasive wheel for profile grinding the turbine disc slots of FGH96 powder metallurgy superalloy. The matrix structure of the cup shaped abrasive wheel was designed and verified. A profile grinding experiment was conducted for fir-tree slots on a five-axis machining center. The accuracy and the surface integrity were analyzed. Results show that the key dimension detection results of the slots were within the allowable tolerance range. Meanwhile, an average surface roughness Ra of 0.55 lm was achieved, the residual stress was compressive, the plastic deformation layer thickness was less than 5 lm, and the hardening layer thickness was less than 20 lm. The research findings provide a new approach to machining the slots of aviation engine turbine discs and guidance for the high-quality processing of complex components. A significant driving force behind the brisk research on rechargeable batteries, particularly lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) in high-performance applications, is the development of portable devices and electric vehicles. Carbon-based materials, which have finite specific capacity, make up the anodes of LiBs. Many attempts are being made to produce novel nanostructured composite anode materials for LiBs that display cycle stability that is superior to that of graphite using graphene oxide. Therefore, using significant amounts of waste graphene oxide from used LiBs represents a fantastic opportunity to engage in waste management and circular economy. This review outlines recent studies, developments and the current advancement of graphene oxide-based LiBs, including preparation of graphene oxide and utilization in LiBs, particularly from the perspective of energy storage technology, which has drawn more and more attention to creating high-performance electrode systems. An 8-channel hybrid-integrated chip for 200 Gb/s (8 x 25 Gb/s) signal transmission has been demonstrated. The channels are all within the O-band, and with a spacing of 800 GHz. The core of this chip is a monolithic integrated multi-wavelength laser array of 8 directly-modulated distributed feedback (DFB) lasers. By using the reconstruction equivalent chirp technique, multi-wavelength integration and asymmetric phase shift structures are achieved in the laser array. The output laser beams of the array are combined by a planar light-wave circuit, which is hybrid-integrated with the laser array by photonic wire bonding. Experiment results of this transmitter chip show good single-mode working of each unit laser, with a side- mode suppression ratio above 50 dB, and the modulation bandwidth is above 20 GHz. Clear eye diagrams are obtained in the lasers for 25 Gb/s non-return-to-zero modulation, which implies a total 200 Gb/s transmission rate for the whole chip.

For all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs), polymer-blended solid composite electrolytes (SCEs) have drawn wide interest owing to their significance in improving the interfacial solid-solid contacts and inhibiting the growth of lithium dendrites. In this work, SCEs based on PVDF-HFP/PMMA matrix containing MOFs (NH 2-MIL-53(Al)) and LiTFSI were designed and synthesized employing an easy solution casting method. The synthesized samples were examined by XRD, SEM, EDS, and electrochemical tests. It was found that MPP-2 SCE not only has excellent ionic conductivity at 60 degrees C of 5.54 x 10-4 S cm-1 , but also exhibits superior interfacial compatibility in Li||Li symmetric batteries, which can constantly cycle for about 800 h at 0.1 mA cm-2 with no short-circuiting. The assembled Li|MPP-2|LiFePO 4 cell exhibited a first discharge specific capacity of up to 157.1 mAh g-1 at 60 degrees C and 0.2 C. Local MFS Matrix Decomposition Algorithms for Elliptic BVPs in Annuli

We apply the local method of fundamental solutions (LMFS) to boundary value problems (BVPs) for the Laplace and homogeneous biharmonic equations in annuli. By appropriately choosing the collocation points, the LMFS discretization yields sparse block circulant system matrices. As a result, matrix decomposition algorithms (MDAs) and fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) can be used for the solution of the systems resulting in considerable savings in both computational time and storage requirements. The accuracy of the method and its ability to solve large scale problems are demonstrated by applying it to several numerical experiments.

Facile formation of hierarchical magnesium silicate hydrate microspheres as an adsorbent for the textile dyes

Hierarchical porous magnesium silicate hydrate (MSH) microspheres composed of sheets are successfully developed under facile conditions using a hard template. The role of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) on the formation and adsorption behavior was also observed for the methyl orange and methylene blue. The formed MSH possesses a surface area of 453.24 m 2 /g, an average pore size of 6.38 nm, and a pore volume of 0.75 cm 3 /g without CTAB. Based on the role of CTAB and the change in the ratio of Mg/Si, the MSH retained its sphere-like structure with a variation in pore parameters. The formed MSH was used as an adsorbent to remove methylene blue and methyl orange. The pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir Isotherm models are well- fitted, with a 256.4 mg/g removal capacity and 84.2 mg/g for methylene blue and methyl orange, respectively. The modi fied MSH with CTAB played a positive role for the methyl orange and a negative role for the methylene blue regarding removal performance. An innovative inertial parameters identification method for non-cooperative space targets based on electrostatic interaction

Inertial characteristics of non-cooperative targets are crucial for space capture and subsequent on-orbit servicing. Previous methods for identifying inertial parameters involve proximity operations, which are associated with the risk of collision with non-cooperative targets. This paper introduces a long-range, contactless method for identifying the inertial parameters of a noncooperative target during the pre-capture phase. Specifically, electrostatic interaction is used as an external excitation to alter the target's motion. A force estimation algorithm that uses measurements from visual and potential sensors is proposed to estimate the electrostatic interaction and eliminate the need for force sensors. Furthermore, a recursive estimation-identification framework is presented to concurrently estimate the coupled motion state, weak electrostatic interaction, and inertial parameters of the target. The simulation results show that the proposed method extends the identification distance to 170 times that of the previous method while maintaining high identification precision for all parameters.

Experimental and numerical study of effecting core configurations on the static and dynamic behavior of honeycomb plate with aluminum material

The sandwich panel incorporated a honeycomb core, a widely utilized composite structure recognized as a fundamental classification of composite materials. Comprised a core resembling a honeycomb, possessing thickness and softness, and is flank by rigid face sheets that sandwich various shapes and materials. This paper presents an examination of the static and dynamic analysis of lightweight plates made of aluminum honeycomb sandwich composites. Honeycomb sandwich plate samples are 300 mm long, and 300 mm wide, the heights of the core have been varied at four values ranging from 10 to 25 mm. The honeycomb core is manufactured from Aluminum material by using a novel technique namely resistance spot welding (RSW) instead of using adhesive material, which is often used when an industrial flaw is detected. Numerical optimization based on response surface methodology (RSM) and design of experiment software (DOE) was used to verify the current work. A theoretical examination of the crashworthiness behavior (maximum bending load, maximum deflection) and vibration attributes (natural frequency, damping ratio, transient temporal response) of honeycomb sandwich panels with different design parameters was also carried out. In addition, the finite element method-based ANSYS software was used to confirm the theoretical conclusions. The findings of the present work showed that the relationship between the natural frequency, core height, and cell size is direct. In contrast, the relationship between the natural frequency and the thickness of the cell wall is inverse. Conversely, the damping ratio is inversely proportional to the core height and cell size but directly proportional to the thickness of the cell wall. The study indicates that altering the core height within 10-25 mm leads to a significant increase of 82 % in the natural frequency and a notable decrease of 49% in the damping ratio. A non-antibiotic organic coating on ZA6-1 surface releasing different concentrations of sodium dodecyl sulphate/levulinic acid for orthopaedic application

Bone implantation surgery is often accompanied by bacterial infection, resulting in infectious bone non-union, pathological fracture and other serious consequences, which will aggravate the pain of patients. A non-antibiotic coating consisting of sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) and levulinic acid (LA) with different concentrations was prepared by the authors on the zinc-aluminium alloy (ZA6-1) using a wet chemistry treatment for orthopaedic application. The influence of SDS/LA concentrations on the surface morphology, composition and performance of the developed coating was investigated. The results showed that as-prepared coating on a zinc alloy surface could improve the substrate's corrosion resistance and increase the degradation rate from 0.82 to 19.70 mu m/year upon raising the SDS/LA concentration. Furthermore, higher hydrophilicity (100%) and morphology, as well as good cell adhesion and differentiation (ALP >95% for 7 days) were observed on coated zinc alloys. The increased SDS/LA concentration slightly weakens the biocompatibility and enhances the antibacterial performance of coated zinc alloys due to the synergistic effect of SDS/LA. Overall, the coating comprising 6 wt.% SDS and 9 wt.% LA showed excellent antibacterial action with a high level of biocompatibility, confirming its potential application for orthopaedic implants.
