Study on the Corrosion Resistance of Multiphase TRIP Steels

Multiphase TRIP (Transformation Induced Plasticity) steels are known to combine higher strength with higher *** this paper,the corrosion resistance of this steel has been has been investigated by accelerated corrosion tests,such as wet/dry cyclic corrosion and the weight loss in *** morphologies of their rust layers were observed by using scanning electron microscopy,and the corrosion performance of these steels was discussed by analyzing the protective *** results show that the corrosion rate of steel A is significantly greater than that of steels B and C in wet/dry cyclic corrosion and weight loss *** corrosion performance of conventional C-Mn-Si TRIP steel is deteriorated in both NaHSO 3 and 3.5 wt.% NaCl aqueous *** superior corrosion performance is exhibited for TRIP steel with low alloying contents due to its high thermodynamic *** enhancement of corrosion performance of TRIP steel is attributed to the additions of alloying elements,such as Al,Cu,Cr,Mo,Ni,*** alloying elements increase the compactness of rust layers,so electrochemical characteristic of TRIP steel is improved.

Continuous unidirectional solidification of QAl9-4 Cu-Al alloy

A continuous unidirectional solidification equipment with the advantages of electric slag remelting, induction heating, continuous casting and unidirectional solidification was built to study the QAl9 4 Cu Al alloy. The results show that the electro slag induction continuous unidirectional solidification process can be used for the steady continuous unidirectional solidification of QAl9 4, and revitalizes the down pulling continuous unidirectional solidification process; that the temperature distribution in the mold wall reflects that of the molten metal in the mold, thus the temperature distribution in the mold wall can be used to control the electric slag induction continuous unidirectional solidification process; and that the mutual matching of the technological parameters is the key to stabilize the solidification process.

Hot Deformation and Modeling of Flow Stress for a Ti-containing HSLA Steel

Single stage and double-stage interrupted hot compression tests for simulating hot rolling have been carried out for a Ti-containing HSLA steel (10Ti). Physical simulation of hot rolling was in progress utilizing a Thermecmastor-Z simulator in 850-1150 degree C and strain rate of 0.1-60 s** minus **1. A model for residual strain ratio lambda was designed, and a model of flow stress considering residual strain has been obtained. Sputtering Rates of Alloys in Glow Discharge

The sputtering rates of alloys were investigated under constant Ar pressure and voltage supplied. The alloys studied in this work range from binary intermetallic alloys to ternary and quaternary alloys. It is revealed that the sputtering rates of alloy targets under steady states are q = 1/Sigma C-i/q(i)(0) where q is the sputtering rates of alloys, C-i the weight percentage of i-th component in the alloy, and q(i)(0) the sputtering rate of pure metal of i-th component.

Aluminum was deposited by diffusion into Cu-Al-Y alloy substrates by the pack-cementation *** was carried out in two kinds of container with pot-type and can-type,and the results are *** effects of various time and temperature on the coating characteristics of Cu-Al-Y was also *** result shows that the diffusion layer is nearly 170-200μm in thickness by aluminizing treatment at 900-950℃for 6-8 h in pot-type *** aluminized layers were observed by a scanning electron micrograph(SEM),we can found:A uniform coating was achieved on Cu-Al-Y alloy surface,relatively uniform thickness and even interfaces between the layers and the *** diffusion coefficient of Al in Cu-Al-Y alloys at 900℃in pot-type container can be calculated is 3.65×10-12 m 2 /s.

Evolution and Stability of Dark Holographic Solitons in Photorefractive Dissipative Systems

The dynamics evolution of dark holographic solutions in a dissipative system is investigated numerically provided that the double balance, i.e. diffraction is balanced by nonlinearity and loss is balanced by gain, is satisfied. The influence of the system parameters, such as the linear loss of the crystal, the external biased field and the angel between input beams, on the stable propagation of soliton beams is discussed numerically. Results show that such solitons can be easily amplified or absorbed by adjusting these system parameters. Furthermore, numerical simulations indicate that dissipative dark holographic solitons are stable for small perturbation on amplitude.

Ultra-high strength pipeline steels were rolled by thermal mechanical controlling process (TMCP),and effects of the volume fraction,the size and microstructure morphologies of three different bainite (AF,GB and LB) on mechanical properties were investigated by optical *** results showed that,X120 ultra-high strength pipeline steel was rolled through the reasonable thermal mechanical controlling process (TMCP),and the yield strength and the low temperature charpy impact energy (-30℃) were higher than 840MPa and above 230J,respectively,meanwhile,the ratios of tensile strength to yield strength were lower below *** for X100 pipeline,of which the mechanical property were higher than that by X100 pipeline steel of ISO standard,yield strength of the steel was 715 MPa,ultimate tensile strength 963 MPa,impact energy 282J,and yield ratio 0.74.

Kinetics and Grain Size Distribution of Two Dimensional Normal Grain Growth with the Modified Monte Carlo Simulation

With a newly modified algorithm, the attained time exponent of grain growth n equals 0.49 plus or minus 0.01, very close to the theoretical value 0.5. By simulating the complete process of normal grain growth, the grain size distribution was found to be initially a gamma distribution, then varies continuously and slowly with time, finally approaches the function proposed by Hillert in 1965 at the quasi-steady grain growth stage. The so-called self-similarity of the grain size distribution was discussed according to the new simulation results. (Edited author abstract) 12 Refs.
