We tested the association between endogenous testosterone density(ETD;the ratio between endogenous testosterone[ET]and prostate volume)and prostate cancer(PCa)aggressiveness in very favorable low-and intermediate-risk PCa patients who underwent radical prostatectomy(RP).Only patients with prostate-specific antigen(PSA)within 10 ng ml^(-1),clinical stage T1c,and International Society of Urological Pathology(IsUP)grade group 1 or 2 were *** ET levels up to 350 ng dl^(-1)were classified as *** quantitation density factors were evaluated as the ratio between percentage of biopsy-positive cores and prostate volume(biopsy-positive cores density,BPCD)and the ratio between percentage of cancer invasion at final pathology and prostate weight(tumor load density,TLD).Disease upgrading was coded as ISUP grade group>2,and progression as recurrence(biochemical and/or local and/or distant).Risk associations were evaluated by multivariable Cox and logistic regression *** 320 patients,151(47.2%)had intermediate-risk ***(median:402.3 ng dl^(-1))resulted abnormal in 111(34.7%)cases(median ETD:9.8 ng dl^(-1)ml^(-1)).Upgrading and progression occurred in 109(34.1%)and 32(10.6%)cases,*** was predicted by ISUP grade group 2(hazard ratio[HR]:2.290;P=0.029)and upgrading(HR:3.098;P=0.003),which was associated with ISUP grade group 2(odds ratio[OR]:1.785;P=0.017)and TLD above the median(OR:2.261;P=0.001).After adjustment for PSAdensity and bodymass index(BMI),ETDabovethemedianwas positivelyassociatedwithBPCD(OR:3.404;P<0.001)and TLD(OR:5.238;P<0.001).Notably,subjects with abnormal ET were more likely to have higher BPCD(OR:5.566;P=0.002),as well as TLD(OR:14.998;P=0.016).Independently by routinely evaluated factors,as ETD increased,BPCD and TLD increased,but increments were higher for abnormal ET *** very favorable cohorts,ETD may further stratify the risk of aggressive PCa.

As a part of the product development process, the after-sales services are not only a source of innovation, but also they benefit from value creation through new managerial methodologies for the achievement of competitive advantage and customer satisfaction. The objective of the paper is to further understand value creation for the after-sales services. We present the case of the creation of a new business for the after-sales services for the entrance into a new market. The new business is created by two gurus in the aerospace industry. A typology of guidelines is derived, based on organizational and strategic perspectives, for the after-sales services value creation and the guidelines for the creation of a new business as well as for the entrance of into a new market are presented.

The cities of Terra d’Otranto own a stratified architectural heritage,strongly connected with the local rural *** 15th to 19th century important phases of urban development contributed to creating an incisive characterization of many small cities holding precious cultural traces,appreciable in the specific use of construction materials and in the peculiar image of the historic city *** and church pediments can be identified as signs of urban identity,alongside monumental walls,city gates,fortified buildings and other explicit representations of religious and secular *** squares,courtyards and surroundings of undeniable cultural interest form a typical environmental heritage that the communities have enriched with many tangible and intangible *** regard to the vulnerability of the building heritage,considerations on the broad scope of conservation are more important than ever,especially in relation to the required implementation of knowledge through scientific research and more attentive restoration practices on the architectural heritage of the historic ***,an in-depth study of the urban palimpsest is necessary for the proper identification of the features to safeguard,considering the risk of losing important testimonies for the collective memory.

The morphology of urban residential blocks in China,which is strictly affected by regulations,can potentially improve or deteriorate *** paper first proposes a framework for identifying typical residential block typologies using Nanjing as an example.A thorough investigation,consisting of 114 samples,was conducted,and 18 typical residential block typologies were ***,3D non-isothermal numerical simulations were performed on the hottest days of summer using the *** effect of morphological indices on the microclimate at the pedestrian level was explored using statistical methods and a novel graphic method named *** results revealed a strong correlation between the urban heat island intensity(UHII),mean radiation temperature,and universal thermal climate index(UTCI)and floor area ratio(FAR),as well as between wind velocity(U)and building coverage ratio(BCR).A significant increase in FAR(by approximately 1.0)can result in a low UTCI that was driven by MRT and shading ***-floor blocks,with FAR between 1.8 and 2.1,had a better overall thermal environment(except for lower U)than that of 11-floor *** considering a similar BCR,blocks with slab-type buildings tended to have a U that was higher by approximately 30%.

The aim of this paper is to present the main results arisen from the joint efforts of the public-private partnership in being between CCII （Centro Cultura Innovativa d＇Impresa） of University of Salento and Apphia s.r.l.. This paper will focus on the results of the core of the OBSS （on board stability system） module that, starting from the exact 3D geometry of a ship hull, described by a discrete model in a standard format, the distribution of all weights onboard and the data acquired by the system, calculates ship floating conditions （in draught, heel and trim）. The proposed approach is based on geometry meshes represented by an universally accepted file format （named OBJ） first developed by Wavefront Technologies. Demonstration of the validity of the results is done by the authors using as hull model a simple rectangular box.

In this paper, the efficiency of lipid extraction from macrophytes (Chaetomorpha linum, Ulva laetevirens, Valonia aegagrophyla, Gracilariopsis longissima, Ruppia cirrhosa) for the biodiesel production is evaluated using four different methods based on the Accelerated Solvent Extraction technique. Both wet and dried tissues are extracted and effects induced on lipid recovery by the pressure and the solvent mixture selection are evaluated. Results evidenced that better extraction performance is obtained using a polar/hydrophobic solvent mixture (1:1 v/v). Accelerate Solvent Extraction technique significantly improves the total amount of lipid extracted from macrophytes tissues even if average values are about 2% of the dry weight. Observed efficiencies are far from the productive standards required by the industrial process;nevertheless, lipid extraction from macrophytes could represent an interesting step of a much more complex biomass recycling process which could include, besides biodiesel, also, the production of other commercial materials as well as pigments and biosorbents.

This study evaluates, on a preliminary basis, the principal morpho-physiological effects induced by pollution stress in four aquatic vegetation species of great ecological relevance in transitional water ecosystems. Three macroalgae (Chaetomorpha linum, Valonia aegagrophyla, Graciliariopsis longissima) and one phanerogams species (Ruppia cirrhosa) were exposed to different doses of trace elements (Cu, Hg, Zn) and surfactants (dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid sodium salt) in laboratory controlled microcosm conditions and morpho-physiological responses (photosynthetic complex alteration, percentage of died cells, morphological changes) were measured before and after 7 and 14 days of exposure. Levels of pollutants in tissues and BioConcentration Factors (BCF) for each species were calculated after 14 days of exposure. Results suggest that photosynthetic complex alteration can be a useful tool to evaluate early and sub-lethal significant changes due to exposure to pollution stress in all of the considered species. A clear species-specificity was observed concerning trace element levels in tissues after 14 days of exposure, while dose-dependent behavior was observed for BCFs.

A ns Nd:YAG pulsed laser has been employed to produce plasma from the interaction with a dense target,generating continuum and UV and soft x-ray emission depending on the laser parameters and target *** laser hits solid and gaseous targets producing plasma in high vacuum,which was investigated by employing a silicon carbide *** two different interaction mechanisms were studied,as well as their dependence on the atomic *** photon emission from laser-generated plasma produced by solid targets,such as boron nitride(BN)and other elements(Al,Cu,Sn and Ta)and compounds such as polyethylene,has been compared with that coming from plasma produced by irradiating different gas-puff targets based on N_(2)and other gases(Ar,Xe,Kr,SF_(6)).The experimental results demonstrated that the yields are comparable and,in both cases,increase proportionally to the target atomic *** obtained results,focusing the attention on the advantages and drawbacks of the employed targets,are presented and discussed.
