BACKGROUND Anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)-positive large B-cell lymphoma(LBCL)is an aggressive and rare variant of diffuse ***,we report an uncommon case of stage IE extranodal ALK-positive LBCL initially originating in the bulbar *** SUmmARY A 63-year-old woman presented with a mass in the left bulbar conjunctiva that had persisted for six months,accompanied by swelling and pain that had per-sisted for 3 *** examination revealed an 8 mm slightly elevated pink mass in the lower conjunctival sac of the left ***,the tumor was com-posed of large immunoblastic and plasmablastic large lymphoid cells with scattered anaplastic or multinucleated large ***,the neoplastic cells were positive for ALK,CD10,CD138,Kappa,mUm1,BOB.1,OCT-2,CD4,CD45,EmA,CD79a,CD38,and AE1/AE3,and negative for CD20,PAX5,Lambda,BCL6,CD30 and all other T-cell *** results of gene rearrangement tests showed monoclonal IGH/IGK/IGL and TCRD *** in situ hybridization studies did not reveal any BCL2,BCL6 or mYC ***,Epstein-Barr virus was not detected by in situ hybridization in the *** on the histopathological and imaging examinations,the neoplasm was classified as stage IE ALK-positive *** further treatments were *** the 6,15,and 21 mo postoperative follow-up visits,the patient was in good condition,without obvious *** case represents the first example of primary extranodal ALK-positive LBCL presenting as a bulbar conjunctival mass,which is extremely rare and shares morphological and immunohistochemical features with a variety of other neo-plasms that can result in *** Awareness of the condition presented in this case report is necessary for early and accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Introduction: Kaposi sarcoma disease is a proliferative and multifocal disorder with dual components, vascular and fibroblastic cellular, cutaneous and visceral expression. Kaposi Sarcoma can affect the ocular surface and adnexa and can masquerade as other entities, delaying prompt diagnosis can lead to diagnostic wandering delaying treatment. Our aim is to describe a case of KS of the eyelid in an HIV seronegative patient. Case Presentation: A seventy-year-old man developed a bilateral growing tumoral reddish purple vascular mass on both the lower and upper eyelid involving rapidly for 6 months. Both feet and the two shanks show the presence of a brown-violet tumor-shaped formation. The patient was negative for HIV. Histology examination showed a nodular tumor-like mass with a fibro hemangioma-epitheliomatous. Polymerase chain reaction was positive for human herpes virus 8. Initial chemotherapy followed by surgery was proposed to the patient. Unfortunately, the patient rejected treatment and was lost to follow-up. Conclusion: This case reports the difficulty of managing KS in developing countries.

Single nucleotide polymorphism within chromosome 8q24 is associated with prostate cancer development in Saudi Arabia

Objective: Genome-wide association studies have demonstrated that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are important risk factors for the development of prostate cancer (PCa). Preliminary studies have suggested that the incidence of PCa in Saudi males is low but is probably familial or genetically ***: To identify any possible association of SNP with PCa development in Saudi patients, we investigated a group of SNPs in Saudi PCa patients (n=85) and compared the outcomes to healthy normal controls (n=115) and nodular hyperplasia patients (n=120). DNA was extracted from paraffin-embedded formalin fixed tissue or whole blood from both patients’ groups and healthy control group. A total of thirteen SNPs were genotyped using Taqman® minor groove binder polymerase chain reaction ***: The rs16901979A, s629242T and rs1447295A alleles were found at significantly higher frequency in PCa patients than controls (pmales. Such findings have important implications in the PCa diagnosis and in screening unaffected family members of Saudi patients.

Natural killer T cell lymphoma(NKTCL)is highly aggressive,with advanced stage patients poorly responding to intensive *** explore effective and safe treatment for newly diagnosed advanced stage NKTCL,we conducted a phase ll study of anti-metabolic agent pegaspargase plus PD-1 antibody sintilimab(NCT04096690).Twenty-two patients with a median age of 51 years(range,24-74)were enrolled and treated with induction treatment of pegaspargase 2500 IU/m2 intramuscularly on day 1 and sintilimab 200 mg intravenously on day 2 for 6 cycles of 21 days,followed by maintenance treatment of sintilimab 200 mg for 28 cycles of 21 *** complete response and overall response rate after induction treatment were 59%(95%Cl,43-79%)and 68%(95%Cl,47-84%),*** a median follow-up of 30 months,the 2 year progression-free and overall survival rates were 68%(95%Cl,45-83%)and 86%(95%Cl,63-95%),*** most frequently grade 3/4 adverse events were neutropenia(32%,n=7)and hypofibrinogenemia(18%,n=4),which were manageable and led to no discontinuation of *** proportion score of PD-L1,peripheral blood high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,and apolipoprotein A-l correlated with good response,while PD-1 on tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and peripheral Treg cells with poor response to pegaspargase plus sintilimab *** conclusion,the chemo-free regimen pegaspargase plus sintilimab was effective and safe in newly diagnosed,advanced stage *** lipid profle and immunosuppressive signature contributed to treatment resistance,providing an alternative therapeutic approach dual targeting fatty acid metabolism and CTLA-4 in NKTCL.

Proliferating cell nuclear antigen of Ulva prolifera is involved in the response to temperature stress

Ulva prolifera is the most common specie causative to green tide,and its growth is sensitive to temperature ***,the mechanisms of *** response to temperature stress remain *** this study,high temperature(36°C)stimulus promoted the death of unformed cell wall protoplasts and delayed the division of formed cell wall protoplasts,while low-temperature(4°C)stimulus did not,suggesting that the mechanisms of the response of *** to high and low temperature stresses are *** results show that proliferation-related genes were differentially expressed under high and low-temperature stresses,especially the proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)and cyclins(CYCs).Subsequently,the interaction between PCNA and Cyclin A was confirmed by Co-immunoprecipitation,yeast two-hybrid,and so ***,high-and low temperature stresses induced the expression of PCNA and Cyclin A in varying of degrees,and activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)signal *** results suggest,PCNA,Cyclin A,and ERK signal pathway played important roles in the resistance of *** to temperature ***,high-temperature stress induced an increase of miR-2916 in abundance,and exhibiting reverse expression of PCNA;and PCNA was target gene of miR-2916,suggesting that miR-2916 protected *** from high-temperature stress via post-transcriptionally regulation of *** study laid a foundation for understanding the function of PCNA and Cyclin A,moreover,it has a guiding significance to explore the mechanisms of the response to temperature stress from proliferation-related genes regulatory networks in ***.
