Plasticity of wheat seedling responses to K^(+) deficiency highlighted by integrated phenotyping of roots and root hairs over the whole root system

The availability in the soil of potassium(K^(+)),a poorly mobile macronutrient required in large quantities for plant growth,is generally suboptimal for crop production in the absence of fertilization,making improvement of the ability of crops to adapt to K^(+)deficiency stress a major *** the uptake capacity of the root system is among the main strategies to achieve this ***,we report an integrative approach to examine the effect of K^(+)deficiency on the development of young plant entire root system,including root hairs which are known to provide a significant contribution to the uptake of poorly mobile nutrients such as K^(+),in two genetically distant wheat varieties.A rhizobox-type methodology was developed to obtain highly-resolved images of root and root hairs,allowing to describe global root and root hair traits over the whole root system via image analysis *** two wheat varieties responded differently to the K^(+)shortage:Escandia,a wheat ancestor,reduced shoot biomass in condition of K^(+)shortage and substantially increased the surface area of its root system,specifically by increasing the total root hair *** Zenati,a landrace,conversely appeared unresponsive to the K^(+)shortage but was shown to constitutively express,independently of the external K^(+)availability,favorable traits to cope with reduced K^(+)availability,among which a high total root hair ***,valuable information on root system adaptation to K^(+)deficiency was provided by global analyses including root hairs,which should also be relevant for other nutrient stresses.

Antimicrobial Activities of desert Truffle Extracts and Their Chemical Identification

desert truffles are edible mushrooms and they belong to groupe of ascomycetes. In Algeria, we find them in arid and semiarid area. They are represented by two most genuses: Tirmania (white terfez) and Terfezia (red terfez). The aim of our work is to present extraction technics of the bioactive substances from gleba (ascoms) of Tirmania pinoyi (Maire) Malen?on and from the culture filtrate of mycelium of Terfezia claveryi Chatin. Also, we present antifungal and antibacterial activity of these substances in vitro and their identification. There is antifungal activity of different extracts on solid medium, in vitro, against species of Aspergillus, Fusarium, gliocladium, Candida. Also, there is antibacterial activity against species of Staphylococus, Streptococcus, Bacillus, Enterococcus, Escherichia, and Salmonella. Results show that extracts inhibition varies according to microbial tested species. Bioactive substances of the different extracts were analyzed by gC (gas chromatography)-mass, RMN (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) and infrared in order to determine the chemical identity. Results show that these substances contain pyrazines and cyclic compounds like quinones.

In this study,we introduce a novel bioinformatics program,Spore-associated Symbiotic Microbes Position-specific Function(SeSame PS Function),for position-specific functional analysis of short sequences derived from metagenome sequencing data of the arbuscular mycorrhizal *** unique advantage of the program lies in databases created based on genus-specific sequence properties derived from protein secondary structure,namely amino acid usages,codon usages,and codon contexts of 3-codon dNA *** PS Function searches a query sequence against reference sequence database,identifies 3-codon dNA 9-mers with structural roles,and creates a comparative dataset containing the codon usage biases of the 3-codon dNA 9-mers from 54 bacterial and fungal *** program applies correlation principal component analysis in conjunction with K-means clustering method to the comparative dataset.3-codon dNA 9-mers clustered as a sole member or with only a few members are often structurally and functionally distinctive sites that provide useful insights into important molecular *** program provides a versatile means for studying functions of short sequences from metagenome sequencing and has a wide spectrum of *** PS Function is freely accessible at ***.

＜正＞This study compares the continental phylogeographic patterns of two wild European species biologically linked by a " host-parasite " association : the field mouse Apodemus sylvaticus （Muridae） and one of its direct and specific endoparasites, the Nematode He-ligmosomoides polygyrus （Heligmosomoidea）. 687 bp of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene were se-quenced in 122 specimens of H. polygyrus and compared to 94 cytochrome b gene sequences （974 bp） previously obtained for A . sylvaticus .

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(amF)are plant root symbionts that play key roles in plant growth and soil *** are obligate biotrophic fungi that form coenocytic multinucleated hyphae and *** studies have shown that diverse microorganisms live on the surface of and inside their mycelia,resulting in a metagenome when whole-genome sequencing(WgS)data are obtained from sequencing amF cultivated in *** metagenome contains not only the amF sequences,but also those from associated *** this study,we introduce a novel bioinformatics program,Spore-associated Symbiotic Microbes(SeSame),designed for taxonomic classification of short sequences obtained by next-generation dNA sequencing.A genus-specific usage bias database was created based on amino acid usage and codon usage of a three consecutive codon dNA 9-mer encoding an amino acid trimer in a protein secondary *** program distinguishes between coding sequence(CdS)and non-CdS,and classifies a query sequence into a genus group out of 54 genera used as *** mean percentages of correct predictions of the CdS and the non-CdS test sets at the genus level were 71% and 50% for bacteria,68% and 73% for fungi(excluding amF),and 49% and 72% for amF(Rhizophagus irregularis),*** provides not only a means for estimating taxonomic diversity and abundance but also the gene reservoir of the reference taxonomic groups associated with ***,it enables users to study the symbiotic roles of associated *** can also be applicable to other microorganisms as well as soil *** is freely available at ***.

目的比较子宫颈癌筛查中传统子宫颈涂片、单层细胞学,以及人乳头状瘤病毒检测的敏感性、特异性和观察者间的可信性。设计对同时进行了此3项检查并有参考标准(阴道镜和组织学)者进行横断面研究。研究单位法国的公立大学和私人诊所,本研究完全独立于病例提供者。研究对象因先前检出的细胞学异常而进行阴道镜检查的828名妇女和参加常规涂片检查的1757名妇女。主要结果判定指标临床读片和最优化解释(为取得一致所进行的双盲读片)。根据诊断异常的不同阈值计算出敏感性、特异性和加权κ值。结果根据Bethesda系统,传统子宫颈涂片检查得到的结果更为满意(91％比87％),比单层细胞学更可靠(加权κ值0.70比0.57),其敏感性和特异性更高。这些结果适用于临床读片和最优化解释,区分高级别和低级别病变,以及有低和高异常发生率的人群。人乳头状瘤病毒检测与单层细胞学检查同时进行,不论是系统性的还是只对于意义不明的非典型细胞,并不比传统涂片检查优越。结论在子宫颈癌筛选中,单层细胞学检查不如传统子宫颈涂片检查可靠,且更容易出现假阳性和假阴性结果。

Objective:The objective of this work is to describe the epidemiological profile of overweight or obese children monitored at the nutrition service of the National Institute of Public Health(INSP)of ***:This is a retrospective and cross-sectional study that took place from April 28,2017 to december 28,2018 at the Nutrition department of the *** concerned 181 children or adolescents of both sexes aged 5 to 19 years monitored for their excess weight in the said *** was collected using a summary sheet of medical records over the study ***:The results obtained indicate that out of all 181 young patients,130(71.8%)were girls,of which 122(67.4%)were obese.49.2%of these patients were between 10 and 14 years old with a mean age of 12.24 *** biochemical assessment showed that the disturbance was always greater in obese patients except for the proportion of biochemical results disturbed in uric acid level which was higher in overweight *** subjects developed eating disorders such as overeating for 87.8%and snacking in 55.2%of ***:The epidemiological profile of overweight children and adolescents requires a rapid fight against this pathology.

Surface storm flow prediction on hillslopes based on topography and hydrologic connectivity
