The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted global mobility.‘Lockdowns’and travel bans have been used as control measures by international ***,the ways that we use buildings have also been impacted by these ***,this paper explores the roles of heritage sites in a post-COVID-19 pandemic *** research is part of the Urban Heritage and Community Resilience:Conservation,Tourism,and Pandemic project,and it employs methods such as semistructured interviews,participant observations,archival research,and focus group discussions(FGDs).This paper is based on semistructured interviews conducted with one hundred eighteen participants across ten popular heritage sites in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar,*** fndings confrm the debated claim in postdisaster studies asserting that some of these Acehnese heritage sites,especially those imbued with religious values,have become places of ***,during the pandemic,these sites have facilitated community resilience by helping people feel closer to *** practising Acehnese Muslims,prayer at home is culturally acceptable,but praying at the mosque,which is one of the essential heritages of the Acehnese,has contributed to and strengthened the sense of community ***,visitation and participation in heritage sites that include experiencing the sense of place and conducting religious and cultural activities is integral to community resilience.

Removal of estrogens by electrochemical oxidation process

Treatments of estrogens such as Estrone （El）, Estradiol （E2） and Ethinylestradiol （EE2） were conducted using an electrolytic reactor equipped with multi-packed granular glassy carbon electrodes. Experimental results showed that El, E2 and EE2 were oxidized in the range of 0.45-0.85 V and were removed through electro-polymerization. Observed data from continuous experiments were in good agreement with calculated results by a mathematical model constructed based on mass transfer limitation. In continuous treatment of trace estrogens （1 μg/L）, 98% of El, E2 and EE2 were stably removed. At high loading rate （100 μg/L）, removal efficiency of E1 was kept around 74%-88% for 21 days, but removal efficiency reduced due to passivation of electrodes. However, removal efficiency was recovered after electrochemical regeneration of electrodes in presence of ozone. Electric energy consumption was observed in the range of 1-2 Wh/m3. From these results, we concluded that the present electrochemical process would be an alternative removal of estrogens.

A creative Approach to Reducing Ambiguity in Scenario-based Software Architecture Analysis

In software engineering, a scenario describes an anticipated usage of a software system. As scenarios are useful to understand the requirements and functionalities of a software system, the scenario-based analysis is widely used in various tasks, especially in the design stage of software architectures. Although researchers have proposed various scenario-based approaches to analyse software architecture, there are still limitations in this research field, and a key limitation is that scenarios are typically not formally defined and thus may contain ambiguities. As these ambiguities may lead to defects, it is desirable to reduce them as many as possible. In order to reduce ambiguity in scenario-based software architecture analysis, this paper introduces a creative computing approach to scenario-based software requirements analysis. Our work expands this idea in three directions. Firstly, we extend an architecture description language(ADL)-based language – Breeze/ADL to model the software architecture. Secondly, we use a creative rule – combinational rule(CR) to combine the vector clock algorithm for reducing the ambiguities in modelling scenarios. Then, another creative rule – transformational rule(TR) is employed to help to transform our Breeze/ADL model to a popular model – unified modelling language(UML) model. We implement our approach as a plugin of Breeze, and illustrate a running example of modelling a poetry to music system in our case *** results show the proposed creative approach is able to reduce ambiguities of the software architecture in practice.

While culture being the software controlling human mind, computer software development becomes one of the most creative activities that human undertake since the civilisation began. The only limitation in software creation is human imagination, and that limit is often self-imposed. The "Internetware", referring to a software paradigm, aims to satisfy the need of human kind using Internet as an integrated development and execution platform. Such software systems are composed of entities distributed through the Internetwork, allowing connections that would be impossible or difficult to make otherwise. One of the tasks for the Internetware is to accommodate creativity, to understand the general settings of creative design process and to develop programs that can enhance creativity without necessarily being creative themselves. Therefore, it can be summarized that a development environment needs to be built to best support software creation process of six steps including searching, ideating, specifying, coding, testing and evolving. An E-Health application eco-system is used to illustrate the proposed development process model.

As an audiovisual medium, computer animations require superior image quality and professional soundtrack to lead audiences into their fascinating virtual world. Without sound, the impact of storytelling is reduced or the story is even not under- standable. Despite the importance of sound, most animators are unfamiliar with sound editing software. Limited budget projects such as independent or student works have difficulty hiring sound professionals to create tailor-made soundtrack. Therefore, we need a suitable sound tool to express their individual ideas. In this paper, we propose an approach using schematic for both computer animation and sound. Our approach provides (1) physical simulation on sound through animation parameters and (2) a new channel for animators to add aesthetic values in sound through their experience of using schematics in existing animation software. We demonstrate our idea through several examples, such as Doppler shift, obstacle effect, importance, energetic, and sputtering effect.

In this paper, we present i Hair Recolorer, the first deep-learning based approach for examplebased hair color transfer in videos. Given an input video and a reference image, our method automatically transfers the hair color in the reference image to the hair in the video while keeping other hair attributes(e.g.,shape, structure, and illumination) untouched, producing vivid color-transferred dynamic hair in the *** method performs the color transfer purely in the image space, without any form of intermediate 3 D hair reconstruction. The key enabler of our method is a carefully designed conditional generative model that explicitly disentangles various hair attributes into their corresponding sub-spaces, which are implemented as conditional modules integrated into a generator. We introduce a novel spatially and temporally normalized luminance map to represent the structure and illumination of the hair. Such a representation can largely ease the burden of the generator to synthesize temporally coherent vivid dynamic hairs in the video. We further introduce a cycle consistency loss to enforce the faithfulness of the generated results with respect to the reference. We demonstrate our system’s superiority in video hair color transfer by extensive experiments and comparisons to alternative methods.
