BACKGROUND The clinical incidence of spinal infection is gradually increasing,and its onset is insidious,easily leading to missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis,which may lead to serious complications such as nervous system dysfunction,spinal instability and/or deformity,and cause a huge burden on society and *** identification of the causative agent and precision medicine will greatly reduce the suffering of *** present,the main pathogenic bacteria that cause spinal infection are Staphylococcus aureus,Streptococcus,Pneumococcus,Escherichia coli,and *** are no reports of spinal infection caused by Pseudomonas *** SUMMARY We report a 32-year-old female patient with spinal *** presented with flank pain,initially thought to be bone metastases or bone tuberculosis,and had a family background of *** clinical features and changes in imaging and laboratory tests led to the suspicion of thoracic spine *** of the lesion showed inflammation,tissue culture of the lesion was negative several times,and the possible pathogen-Pseudomonas fluorescens was found after gene sequencing of the *** patient recovered completely after a full course of antibiotic *** This report increases the range of pathogens involved in spinal infections,highlights the unique advantages of gene sequencing technology in difficult-todiagnose diseases,and validates conservative treatment with a full course of antibiotics for spinal infections without complications.

Objective To explore the value of deep learning(DL)models semi-automatic training system for automatic optimization of clinical image quality control of transthoracic echocardiography(TTE).Methods Totally 1250 TTE videos from 402 patients were retrospectively collected,including 490 apical four chamber(A4C),310 parasternal long axis view of left ventricle(PLAX)and 450 parasternal short axis view of great vessel(PSAX GV).The videos were divided into development set(245 A4C,155 PLAX,225 PSAX GV),semi-automated training set(98 A4C,62 PLAX,90 PSAX GV)and test set(147 A4C,93 PLAX,135 PSAX GV)at the ratio of 5∶2∶*** on development set and semi-automatic training set,DL model of quality control was semi-automatically iteratively optimized,and a semi-automatic training system was constructed,then the efficacy of DL models for recognizing TTE views and assessing imaging quality of TTE were verified in test *** After optimization,the overall accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 score of DL models for recognizing TTE views in test set improved from 97.33%,97.26%,97.26%and 97.26%to 99.73%,99.65%,99.77%and 99.71%,respectively,while the overall accuracy for assessing A4C,PLAX and PSAX GV TTE as standard views in test set improved from 89.12%,83.87%and 90.37%to 93.20%,90.32%and 93.33%,*** The developed DL models semi-automatic training system could improve the efficiency of clinical imaging quality control of TTE and increase iteration speed.

An end‐to‐end infant brain parcellation pipeline

Objective Accurate infant brain parcellation is crucial for understanding early brain development;however,it is challenging due to the inherent low tissue contrast,high noise,and severe partial volume effects in infant magnetic resonance images(MRIs).The aim of this study was to develop an end-to-end pipeline that enabled accurate parcellation of infant brain *** We proposed an end-to-end pipeline that employs a two-stage global-to-local approach for accurate parcellation of infant brain ***,in the global regions of interest(ROIs)localization stage,a combination of transformer and convolution operations was employed to capture both global spatial features and fine texture features,enabling an approximate localization of the ROIs across the whole *** the local ROIs refinement stage,leveraging the position priors from the first stage along with the raw MRIs,the boundaries of the ROIs are refined for a more accurate *** We utilized the Dice ratio to evaluate the accuracy of parcellation *** on 263 subjects from National Database for Autism Research(NDAR),Baby Connectome Project(BCP)and Cross-site datasets demonstrated the better accuracy and robustness of our method than other competing *** Our end-to-end pipeline may be capable of accurately parcellating 6-month-old infant brain MRIs.

Relationship between neonatal respiratory distress syndrome pulmonary ultrasonography and respiratory distress score,oxygenation index,and chest radiography grading

BACKGROUND Accurate condition assessment is critical for improving the prognosis of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(RDS),but current assessment methods for RDS pose a cumulative risk of harm to ***,a less harmful method for assessing the health of neonates with RDS is *** To analyze the relationships between pulmonary ultrasonography and respiratory distress scores,oxygenation index,and chest X-ray grade of neonatal RDS to identify predictors of neonatal RDS *** This retrospective study analyzed the medical information of 73 neonates with RDS admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Liupanshui Maternal and Child Care Service Center between April and December *** pulmonary ultrasonography score,respiratory distress score,oxygenation index,and chest Xray grade of each newborn before and after treatment were *** correlation analysis was performed to determine the relationships among these values and neonatal RDS *** The pulmonary ultrasonography score,respiratory distress score,oxygenation index,and chest X-ray RDS grade of the neonates were significantly lower after treatment than before treatment(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that before and after treatment,the pulmonary ultrasonography score of neonates with RDS was positively correlated with the respiratory distress score,oxygenation index,and chest X-ray grade(ρ=0.429–0.859,P<0.05).Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis indicated that pulmonary ultrasonography screening effectively predicted the severity of neonatal RDS(area under the curve=0.805–1.000,P<0.05).CONCLUSION The pulmonary ultrasonography score was significantly associated with the neonatal RDS score,oxygenation index,and chest X-ray *** pulmonary ultrasonography score was an effective predictor of neonatal RDS severity.

Introduction: ultrasound is the imaging technique of choice for the study of rotator cuff lesions. However, in the case of shoulder trauma, it is rarely requested in our context. This study aimed to show ultrasound lesions of the rotator cuff in cases of non-fracture shoulder trauma at the CHUYO in Ouagadougou. Methodology: This was a prospective descriptive cross-sectional study running from August 1 to November 30, 2017, in the medical imaging department of CHUYO. The study population consisted of patients received in the department for ultrasound in the context of non-fracture shoulder trauma. Results: We collected 20 cases (66.67%) of rotator cuff lesions out of 30 non-fracture shoulder injuries. The mean age of the patients was 27.6 years. Road traffic accidents accounted for 60% of injuries, sports accidents for 30%, and domestic accidents for 10%. ultrasound lesions were mainly tendon ruptures (36.67%) and tendinitis (23.33%). Ruptures were non-transfixing in 90.90% of cases. The supraspinatus was the most affected (81.81%). Conclusion: ultrasound can help diagnose rotator cuff injuries, particularly in non-fractured shoulder trauma.

Background:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)virus affected more people than SARS-CoV-1 and related *** genetic factors,besides respiratory droplets and direct exposure to the virus,are found highly responsible for transmitting SARS-CoV-2 ***:The objective of this study was to determine the plasma levels of the TMPRSS2 gene and its role in SARS-CoV-2 ***:A total of 100 patients,i.e.50 SARS-CoV-2 positive patients as the case group and 50 SARS-CoV-2 negative samples as the control group,were selected randomly and included in this case-control study to determine the association between TMPRSS2 gene and susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection and severity of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).The TMPRSS2 levels of case and control samples were measured through an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Following the genomic DNA extraction,a set of reverse and forward primers of human TMPRSS2 gene primers were used for the amplification of the TMPRSS2 ***:In the control group,the ratio of men to women was more or less the same while in the case group 62%of the population were *** TMPRSS2 level was found to be 4.70±7.7 ng/ml in case samples while it was 4.73±5.7 ng/ml in control ***:The levels of TMPRSS2 in plasma samples of both controls and cases were found to be the same indicating that the entry of SARS-CoV-2 is not dependent on the plasma levels of this protein.

BACKGROUND In the current World Health Organization classification,acinic cell carcinoma(AcCC)of the breast is considered a rare histological subtype of triple-negative breast *** of the few reports in the literature,data concerning clinical outcomes are ***,we report a case of AcCC of the breast in a 48-year-old woman.A 48-year-old woman with a mass in her right breast came to our hospital for further *** and an ultrasound(US)scan showed a mass in the upper inner side of the right *** then underwent surgery to resect the mass in her right *** pathological examination revealed that the tumor had abundant acinar-like structures formed by tumor cells with prominent eosinophilic granules in the cytoplasm,consistent with acinar cell *** results of immunohistochemical analysis supported the diagnosis of breast acinar cell *** months later,she underwent breast-conserving surgery and sentinel lymph node *** pTNM stage was *** surgery,the patient received 30 radiotherapy *** patient was followed up for a period of one year,and no recurrence was *** of the breast is a rare type of malignant *** it is usually asym-ptomatic and can be detected by imaging studies,routine breast US or mamm-ograms are ***,there are no characteristic diagnostic imaging findings or clinical manifestations,so immunohistochemical examination is critical for an accurate diagnosis of AcCC of the breast.

Tetralin-1-carboxamides are frequently incorporated in myriad medicinally important ***,their existing synthetic routes not only suffer from some drawbacks such as tedious procedures,harsh reaction conditions,narrow substrate scope,low yields,and environmental problems,but are also based upon the elaboration of uneasily available non-linear tetralin ***,we describe a metal-and additive-free visible light-induced[4+2]annulation of two simple linear starting materials,namely acrylamides and 2-benzyl-2-bromocarbonyls,through a cascade C(sp^(3))-Br/C(sp^(2))-H bond cleavage,double C-C bond formation,and aromatization *** developed protocol provides a convenient,efficient,and green approach to a variety of tetralin-1-carboxamide derivatives with good functional group ***,the resulting products could also undergo the Licl-mediated mono-decarboxylative cyclization process to further furnish the architecturally novel bridged polycyclic imides with excellentcis-diastereoselectivities.
