The cast structures influencing the electrochemical corrosion behavior of Co-Cr and Ni-Cr dental alloys were studied using potentiodynamic polarization and AC impedance in 0.9% (mass fraction) NaCl solution at (37±1) ℃. The phase and microstructure of the alloys that were fabricated using two different casting methods viz. centrifugal casting and high frequency induction casting, were examined using X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The roles of alloying elements and the passive film homogeneity on the corrosion resistance of Co-Cr-Mo and Ni-Cr-Mo dental cast alloys were reviewed. The results of electrochemical study show that the dependence of corrosion resistance on the microstructure associated with the casting methods is marginal. The Co-Cr alloy exhibits more desirable corrosion resistance properties than the Ni-Cr alloy. There is severe preferential dissolution of Ni-rich, Cr and Mo depleted zones in the Ni-Cr alloy.

Background:Having the ability to identify potential health risk factors such as lifestyle,ethnicity,health status,and social determinants associated with oral health status risk,health care providers can take an active role in health screening to discover any need for clinical preventive services,including dental preventive services,and can detect health ***:A descriptive type of cross-sectional study was conducted to explore the practice of common oral diseases among the patients visiting in the selected dental college and hospital in Bangladesh from October 2019 to December *** 100 patients were interviewed through a semi-structured questionnaire,followed by an oral examination through a checklist and a face-to-face interview.A systematically random sampling technique was employed to select the study ***:Among them,the(21-30)year age group shows a maximum 20%,whereas the(71-80)year age group represents the minority with only 2%.Among them,56%were male and 44%were *** represent the majority of 26%,whereas others(day laborers)represent only 4%.Decayed teeth remained in 72%of cases,teeth were missing in 31%of cases,and filled teeth were present in 24%of cases.A majority of 71%clean teeth once daily,whereas only 29%clean teeth twice ***,only 30%brush teeth at night and a maximum of 95%brush teeth in the ***,a maximum of 68%use toothpaste and brushes,while only 4%use meswak for cleaning their *** 4%of cases with no debris,51%of cases with less than 1/3rd of the tooth with debris,32%of cases with 1/3rd-2/3rd of the tooth with debris,and 13%of cases with more than 2/3rd of the tooth with debris were ***,about 30%had no calculus,52%less than 1/3rd of tooth,16%in between 1/3rd and 2/3rd of tooth,and 2%more than 2/3rd of the calculus was *** 47%of mild,22%of moderate,6%of severe and 25%had no ***,for treatment purposes,20.69%was advised for scaling,19.66%for

An important area of research in nanotechnology deals with the synthesis of nanoparticles of different chemical compositions,sizes and controlled ***,there is a growing need to develop environmentally benign nanoparticle synthesis in which no toxic chemicals are used in the synthesis *** nanoparticles(Pd Np) are of interest because of their catalytic properties and affinity for *** protocol for the phyto-synthesis of Pd Np under moderate p H and room temperature offers a new means to develop environmentally benign *** trilobatum is enlightened in our present study as it is enriched with phytochemicals to reduce palladium chloride *** MVA a dietary supplement based on the nontoxic chemotherapeutic lipoic acid-palladium complex(LA-Pd) is been hypothesized as the new paradigm of cancer *** forth we successfully conjugated lipoic acid(S-Pd Np-LA) and vitamins(S-Pd Np-Vitamin-LA) to palladium nanoparticles synthesised from Solanum trilobatum leaf *** nanoparticles(S-Pd Np,S-Pd Np-LA,S-Pd Np-Vitamin-LA) were characterized with UV-Vis Spectroscopy,SEM and FTIR analysis,which revealed that S-Pd Np are polydisperse and of different morphologies ranging from 60?70 nm(S-Pd Np),65?80 nm(S-Pd Np-LA) and 75?100 nm(S-Pd Np-Vitamin-LA) in size.

Anaplastic carcinoma of the pancreas: Case report and literature review of reported cases in Japan

We report a case of a 64-year-old woman with anaplastic carcinoma of the pancreas(ACP) with cyst formation and review 60 ACP cases reported in Japan. In 20% of cases, laboratory tests revealed severe anemia(hemoglobin level 12000/mm3), which were likely attributable to rapid tumor growth, intratumoral hemorrhage, and necrosis. Elevated serum CA19-9 levels were observed in 55% of cases. Cyst-like structures were observed on imaging in 47% of cases, and this finding appears to reflect subsequent cystic degeneration in the lesion. Macroscopically, hemorrhagic necrosis was observed in 77% of cases, and cyst formation was observed in 33% of cases. ACP should be considered when diagnosing pancreatic tumors with a cyst-like appearance, especially in the presence of severe anemia, elevated leucocyte counts, or elevated serum CA19-9 levels.

Inhibition and attenuation of pathogenicity of Porphyromonas gingivalis by leupeptin： A review

BACKGROUND： Porphyromonas gingivalis is a periodontal pathogen, which is considered to be a keystone pathogen for periodontitis. A diverse conglomerate of P. gingivalis virulence factors including lipopolysaccharide, fimbriae, capsular polysaccharide, haemagglutinin and cysteine proteases （Arg-gingipains and Lys-gingipain） are considered to be involved in the pathogenesis ofperiodontitis. Leupeptin is a cysteine protease inhibitor which is specific for Arg gingipains. The present review focuses on action of leupeptin on Arg gingipains. METHOD： A search was carried out systematically from the start till September, 2016. The search was made in Medline database via PubMed. The keywords enlisted were ＂leupeptin＂; ＂gingipains＂; ＂periodontitis＂ using Boolean operator ＂and.＂ RESULTS： The result was selection of 58 articles which linked leupeptin to periodontitis and gingipains; pathogenesis of periodontitis, pathogenicity of gingipains and role of leupeptin. CONCLUSION： It was concluded that leupeptin inhibits and attenuates a number of destructive activities of Arg gingipains including inhibition ofplatelet aggregation; inhibit degradation of LL-37, which is an antimicrobial peptide; blocking inhibition ofmonocyte chemoattractant protein; restoring level ofinterleukin-2; inhibiting degradation of collagen type I and IV to name a few.

Ameloblastic carcinoma is a rare odontogenic tumor exhibiting histological evidence of malignancy in the primary or recurrent tumor. It is characterized by rapid, painful expansion of the jaw, unlike conventional ameloblastomas. The tumor most frequently involves the mandible. The expanding lesion causes perforation of the buccal and lingual plates of the jaw and invades the surrounding soft tissue. Rapidly growing large tumor mass may cause tooth mobility. A mandibular tumor involving the mental nerve leads to paresthesia of the nerve. A maxillary tumor can produce a fistula in the palate and paresthesia of the infraorbital nerve. Most ameloblastic carcinomas are presumed to have arisen de novo with a few cases of malignant transformation of ameloblastomas. Although rare, these lesions have been known to metastasize, mostly to the regional lymph nodes or lungs. A case of ameloblastic carcinoma in a 60-year-old man is reported here and its clinical, radiological and histological features are discussed.
