Carbon dot-based artificial light-harvesting systems with sequential energy transfer and white light emission for photocatalysis

In this work, we designed and synthesized cationic carbon dots(CDs) with a size distribution of 1.6–3.7 nm, which exhibited dark blue fluorescence in the aqueous solution. Based on its excellent luminescence properties, we used it as an energy donor to construct a sequential artificial light-harvesting system(LHS) by employing the energy-matching dyes eosin Y disodium salt(EY) and sulforhodamine101(SR101), which could regulate the white light emission(Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage(CIE) coordinate:(0.30, 0.31)) with the energy transfer efficiency(ΦET) of 53.9% and 20.0%. Moreover, a single-step artificial LHS with white light emission(0.32, 0.28) can be constructed directly using CDs and dye solvent 43(SR) with ΦETand antenna effect(AE) of 48.8% and 6.5, respectively. More importantly,CDs-based artificial LHSs were firstly used in photocatalytic of α-bromoacetophenone, with a yield of90%. This work not only provides a new strategy for constructing CDs-based LHSs, but also opens up a new application for further applying the energy harvested in CDs-based LHSs to the field of the aqueous solution photocatalysis.

为量化气候变化背景下内保温砖墙的热湿性能,采用数值模拟软件WUFI Pro,对比湿气密闭性保温墙体、湿气透过性内保温墙体和未保温墙体,分析其在比利时鲁汶1种现状气候工况和2种未来气候工况下的冻融循环风险、霉菌滋生风险、热损失和湿负荷.结果表明,湿气透过性保温墙体与湿气密闭性保温墙体的冻融风险次数由现状气候工况下的6和2次升至未来气候工况下的16和13次,且含水率显著增高,而未保温墙体无风险.湿气密闭性保温墙体在3种工况下的霉菌滋生风险都显著高于其余2种墙体,且在未来气候工况下风险更高.含保温层墙体的能耗显著低于未保温墙体,湿气透过性保温墙体与未保温墙体在未来气候工况下需要更大的湿负荷.

Increasing phosphorus fertilizer value of recycled iron phosphates by prolonged flooding and organic matter addition

Iron(Fe)minerals are commonly used to remove phosphorus(P)from waste streams,producing P-loaded Fe(Ⅲ)oxides or Fe(Ⅱ)phosphate minerals(e.g.,vivianite).These minerals may be used as fertilizers to enhance P circularity if solubilized in ***,we tested the P fertilizer value of recycled Fe phosphates(FePs)in a pot trial and in an incubation experiment,hypothesizing that P release from FePs is possible under Fe(Ⅲ)-reducing ***,a pot trial was set up with rice(Oryza sativa)in all combinations of soil flooding or not,three P-deficient soils(acid,neutral,and calcareous),and six FePs(three Fe(Ⅲ)Ps and three Fe(Ⅱ)Ps)referenced to triple superphosphate(TSP)or zero *** P uptake responded to TSP application in all treatments but only marginally to *** redox potential did not decrease to-200 mV by flooding for a brief period(13 d)during the pot trial.A longer incubation experiment(60 d)was performed,including a treatment of glutamate addition to stimulate reductive conditions,and P availability was assessed with CaCl_(2)extraction of *** addition and/or longer incubation lowered soil redox potential to<-100 *** the longer term,Fe(Ⅲ)minerals released P,and adequate P was reached in the calcareous soil and in the neutral soil amended with Fe(Ⅲ)*** can be concluded that prolonged soil flooding and organic matter addition can enhance the P fertilizer efficiency of ***,application of FeP in powder form may enhance P availability.

The d-d orbital coupling induced by crystal-phase engineering can effectively adjust the electronic structure of electrocatalysts,thus showing significant catalytic performance,while it has been rarely explored in electrochemical acetonitrile reduction reaction(ARR)to ***,we successfully realize the structural transformation of Pd Cu metallic aerogels(MAs)from face-centered cubic(FCC)to body-centered cubic(BCC)through annealing ***,the BCC Pd Cu MAs exhibit excellent ARR performance with high ethylamine selectivity of 90.91%,Faradaic efficiency of 88.60%,yield rate of 316.0 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1)_(Pd+Cu)and long-term stability for consecutive electrolysis within 20 h at-0.55 V *** hydrogen electrode,outperforming than those of FCC Pd Cu *** the membrane electrode assembly system,BCC Pd Cu MAs also demonstrate excellent ethylamine yield rate of 389.5 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1)_(Pd+Cu).Density functional theory calculation reveals that the d-d orbital coupling in BCC Pd Cu MAs results in an evident correlation effect for the interaction of Pd and Cu sites,which boosts up the Cu sites electronic activities to enhance ARR *** work opens a new route to develop efficient ARR electrocatalysts from the perspective of crystalline structure transformation.

Post synthetic modification of a hydrophilic metal-organic framework(MOF),HkuST-1,with stearic acid(SA)was carried out to enhance the stability of HkuST-1 in aqueous solution to be used as a support for formate dehydrogenase(FDH)used for CO_(2)conversion to *** modification improved the hydrophobicity without affecting the morphology and crystal structure of *** of FDH on the modified MOF(SA@HkuST-1)was compared to that of the native HkuST-1 and *** adsorption kinetics on all MOFs was found to follow pseudo-second order kinetics and the isotherm was best described by Freundlich *** high stability of SA@HkuST-1 and enhanced hydrophobic interaction between support and CO_(2)resulted in high catalytic efficiency and stability of FDH@SA@*** immobilized enzyme retained 95.1%of its initial activity after 4 cycles of repeated *** was also shown that FDH@SA@HkuST-1 retained morphology and crystal structure after repeated *** of the present work provide novel insight into the influence of hydrophobic MOFs on the activity and stability of immobilized *** findings are expected to assist in developing highly active and stable biocatalysts for CO_(2)hydrogenation at commercial level.

Residential demand response programs aim to activate demand flexibility at the household *** recent years,reinforcement learning(RL)has gained significant attention for these type of applications.A major challenge of RL algorithms is data *** RL algorithms,such as proximal policy optimisation(PPO),have tried to increase data *** tionally,combining RL with transfer learning has been proposed in an effort to mitigate this *** this work,we further improve upon state-of-the-art transfer learning performance by incorporating demand response domain knowledge into the learning *** evaluate our approach on a demand response use case where peak shaving and self-consumption is incentivised by means of a capacity *** show our adapted version of PPO,combined with transfer learming,reduces cost by 14.51%compared to a regular hysteresis controller and by 6.68%compared to traditional PPO.
