Objective: To study preliminary experience of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for unresectable malignant tumors in 75 patients. Methods: The clinical data of 75 patients with unresectable tumor was analyzed retrospectively. Results: Among 75 patients, ten out of 57 cases achieved good local control in short-term, 5 patients liver tumor, 4 patients with tumor in the chest wall and one patient with bone matestics. Seven patients had skin burn and 2 patients developed intestinal perforations. Conclusion: HIFU is a novel tool for local tumor treatment. HIFU treatment for patients with unresectable tumor in the chest wall is effective.

Objective: To research the relationship among CEA expression in tumor, CEA serum level and Radioimmunoguided Surgery (RIGS) in Colorectal Cancer. Methods: twenty-nine patients with colorectal cancer wer administered radiolabeled McAb CL58 submucosally via endoscope, and all underwent surgical intervention 3 to 14 days later. Intraoperative radioimmunodetection was performed using a portable gamma-detecting probe (GDP). The counts of tumors were obtained, and tumor-to-normal tissue (T/NT) ratio was calculated. The T/NT ratio of 3:1 was taken as the lowest threshold value of positiveness. Anti-CEA immunohistochemical for all the samples were performed. The CEA serum levels of all the patients before operations were also recorded. Results: The sensitivity for RIGS in detecting primary lesions was 93.1% (27/29). 28 patients (96.6%) had CEA expressions to a greater or less extent. 5 patients (17.2%) had elevated CEA serum. There was no correlation between the CEA serum levels and results of RIGS (P>0.5), and no correlation between the CEA serum levels and CEA expression in tumor (P>0.5). The CEA expression in tumor correlated significantly with the RIGS results (Pusion: This study indicates that immunostaining can be used to select the patients as candidates who will benefit most from RIGS.

In the central nervous system(CNS),three types of myelin-associated inhibitors(MAIs) have major inhibitory effects on nerve *** include Nogo-A,myelin-associated glycoprotein,and oligodendrocyte-myelin *** possess two co-receptors,Nogo receptor(NgR) and paired immunoglobulin-like receptor B(PirB).Previous studies have confirmed that the inhibition of NgR only results in a modest increase in regeneration in the CNS;however,the inhibitory effects of PirB with regard to nerve regeneration after binding to MAIs remain *** this study,we demonstrated that PirB is expressed in primary cultures of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs),and the inhibitory effects of the three MAIs on the growth of RGC neurites are not significantly decreased after direct PirB knockdown using adenovirus PirB ***,we found that retinal Müller cells expressed PirB and that its knockdown enhanced the regeneration of co-cultured RGC *** knockdown also activated the JAK/Stat3 signaling pathway in Müller cells and upregulated ciliary neurotrophic factor *** findings indicate that PirB plays a novel role in retinal Müller cells and that its action in these cells may indirectly affect the growth of RGC *** results also reveal that PirB in Müller cells affects RGC neurite *** findings provide a novel basis for the use of PirB as a target molecule to promote nerve regeneration.

BACKGROUND Increasing attention is being given to burn rehabilitation,and an increasing number of burn patients are undergoing ***,little attention has been given to secondary injuries caused by ill-suited rehabilitation ***,especially those in undeveloped countries,sustain injuries due to inadequate burn rehabilitation practices and the nonstandard implementation of rehabilitation *** SUMMARY This study reports 5 cases of secondary injuries caused by ill-suited burn rehabilitation practices in our institute,including first web space contracture caused by a single orthosis treatment,finger deformity caused by improper compression therapy with a self-adhering bandage,developmental impairment of the affected limb caused by continuous improper compression therapy,and fracture caused by overly intensive rehabilitation *** More attention should be given to burn rehabilitation to reduce the incidence of secondary injuries caused by ill-suited rehabilitation *** rehabilitation system should include specialized hospitals(burn rehabilitation centers),community hospitals,and family rehabilitation *** instruments and equipment,accurate measurement methods,objective monitoring indicators and standardized guidelines and recommendations will help improve the quality of burn ***,more attention should be given to burn rehabilitation in children.

In order to improve the brake performance of a dual independent electric drive tracked vehicle,a dynamic model for braking situation was ***,a sliding model controller(SMC)with an auxiliary system was designed to control the slip and its effectiveness was proved.A hardware-in-loop simulation through MATLAB/XPC was compared with the normal SMC and normal integral sliding mode controller(ISMC),the results show that SMC with the auxiliary system has a better performance:a smaller overshoot and steady state *** disturbance is suppressed *** the initial speed of ***/h,the brake distance was shortened by 3.4%and 6.8%compared with the other two methods,***,initial speeds of ***/h tests was carried out on a flat soil *** with a no-control brake,the displacement was shortened by *** demonstrates the effectiveness of the slip-control *** the same situation,the error between the simulation and test is 18.1%,which validates the accuracy of models.

Chronic pancreatitis(CP)is characterized by progressive inflammation and fibrosis of the pancreas that eventually leads to pancreatic exocrine and endocrine *** in the background of CP is very difficult to manage due to high glycemic variability and concomitant *** beta cell loss leading to insulin deficiency is the cardinal mechanism underlying diabetes development in *** cell dysfunction leading to deranged glucagon secretion has been described in different studies using a variety of stimuli in ***,the emerging evidence is varied probably because of dependence on the study procedure,the study population as well as on the stage of the *** mechanism behind islet cell dysfunction in CP is *** intra-islet alpha and beta cell regulation of each other is often ***,secretion of the incretin hormones such as glucagon like peptide-1 and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide is *** significantly contributes to islet cell *** and progressive inflammation with changes in the function of other cells such as islet delta cells and pancreatic polypeptide cells are also implicated in *** addition,the different surgical procedures performed in patients with CP and antihyperglycemic drugs used to treat diabetes associated with CP also affect islet cell ***,different factors such as chronic inflammation,dysregulated incretin axis,surgical interventions and anti-diabetic drugs all affect islet cell function in patients with *** therapies targeting alpha cell function and beta cell regeneration would be useful in the management of pancreatic diabetes in the near future.
