Factors Associated with Students’ Daily Fruit and Vegetable Recommendation at umm al-qura university

Introduction: There is a lack of the awareness in the fruit and vegetable (F & V) recommendation among Saudi society. although the known facts of the benefits of F & V on health, information on Saudi society following the advised recommendation whether by WHO or local are still unknown. Aim: This cross-sectional study aims to examine the perception of F & V intake among students at umm al-qura university and to assess if they follow these recommendations of F & V locally and internationally. Method: Students from umm al-qura university participated in this study (n = 98, age between 18 - 55). all data were collected using short online survey via Online survey—Survey Monkey in 2019. Result: 55% students were not aware of these recommendations whereas 45% were aware of WHO recommendation. The majority of students 53% have less than two portions a day of F & V. Only 14% have between two to four portions a day. 32% do not eat any portion of F & V daily. 59%, 14%, 5% of students believe that they should have five, seven, more than seven portions a day for being healthy respectively. Maintaining health, reducing the risk for chronic disease and providing essential vitamins and minerals to the body were all reasons why students believe that they should have F & V everyday by 71%. Busy lifestyle, F & V cost, lack of the awareness about the health benefits, dislike of the taste, some F & V spoiled easily were all factors affecting eating F & V daily. Conclusion: university students need educational and nutritional campaigns to spread the awareness about the health benefits of F & V. Most importantly the ministry of health should support those campaigns to increase students’ awareness and build a healthy society with a good habit.

A comparison of IBC with 1997 UBC for modal response spectrum analysis in standard-occupancy buildings

This paper presents a comparison of the seismic forces generated from a Modal Response Spectrum Analysis （MRSA） by applying the provisions of two building codes, the 1997 Uniform Building Code （UBC） and the 2000-2009 International Building Code （IBC）, to the most common ordinary residential buildings of standard occupancy. Considering IBC as the state of the art benchmark code, the primary concern is the safety of buildings designed using the UBC as compared to those designed using the IBC. A sample of four buildings with different layouts and heights was used for this comparison. Each of these buildings was assumed to be located at four different geographical sample locations arbitrarily selected to represent various earthquake zones on a seismic map of the USA, and was subjected to code-compliant response spectrum analyses for all sample locations and for five different soil types at each location. Response spectrum analysis was performed using the ETABS software package. For all the cases investigated, the UBC was found to be significantly more conservative than the IBC. The UBC design response spectra have higher spectral accelerations, and as a result, the response spectrum analysis provided a much higher base shear and moment in the structural members as compared to the IBC. The conclusion is that ordinary office and residential buildings designed using UBC 1997 are considered to be overdesigned, and therefore they are quite safe even according to the IBC provisions.

A Generalized State Space Average Model for Parallel DC-to-DC Converters

The high potentiality of integrating renewable energies,such as photovoltaic,into a modern electrical microgrid system,using DC-to-DC converters,raises some issues associated with controller loop design and system *** generalized state space average model(GSSAM)concept was consequently introduced to design a DC-to-DC converter controller in order to evaluate DC-to-DC converter performance and to conduct stability *** paper presents a GSSAM for parallel DC-to-DC converters,namely:buck,boost,and buck-boost *** rationale of this study is that modern electrical systems,such as DC networks,hybrid microgrids,and electric ships,are formed by parallel DC-to-DC converters with separate DC input ***,this paper proposes a GSSAM for any number of parallel DC-to-DC *** proposed GSSAM is validated and investigated in a time-domain simulation environment,namely a MATLAB/*** study compares the steady-state,transient,and oscillatory performance of the state-space average model with a fully detailed switching model.

Toward Robust Classifiers for PDF Malware Detection

Malicious Portable Document Format(PDF)files represent one of the largest threats in the computer security *** research has been done using handwritten signatures and machine learning based on detection via manual feature *** approaches are time consuming,require substantial prior knowledge,and the list of features must be updated with each newly discovered vulnerability *** this study,we propose two models for PDF malware *** first model is a convolutional neural network(CNN)integrated into a standard deviation based regularization model to detect malicious PDF *** second model is a support vector machine(SVM)based ensemble model with three different *** two models were trained and tested on two different *** experimental results show that the accuracy of both models is approximately 100%,and the robustness against evasive samples is ***,the robustness of the models was evaluated with malicious PDF documents generated using *** models can distinguish the different vulnerabilities exploited in malicious files and achieve excellent performance in terms of generalization ability,accuracy,and robustness.

An Integrated Multilayered Framework for IoT Security Intrusion Decisions

Security breaches can seriously harm the Internet of Things(IoT)and Industrial IoT(IIoT)*** damage can exceedﬁnancial and material losses to threaten human *** these security risks is challenging given IoT ubiquity,complexity,and restricted *** intrusion man-agement is a cornerstone in fortifying the defensive security *** paper presents an integrated multilayered framework facilitating the orchestration of the security intrusion management process and developing security decision support *** proposed framework incorporates four layers with four dedicated processing *** paper focuses mainly on the analytical *** present the architecture and models for predictive intrusion analytics for reactive and proactive defense *** differentiate between the device and network levels to master the complexity of IoT ***ﬁting from the singu-larity of IIoT devices trafﬁc,we approach the reactive security intrusion predic-tion through outlier detection models *** thoroughly experiment with ten outlier detection models on the IIoT wustl realistic *** obtained results show the adequacy of the approach with an area under the curve(AUC)results surpassing 98%for several models with a good level of precision and time efﬁ-***,we investigate the use of survival analysis semi-parametric predictive models to forecast the security intrusion before its occurrence for the proactive security *** experiments show encouraging results with a con-cordance index(c-Index)reaching 89%and an integrated brier score(IBS)of *** integrating outlier intrusion detection and survival forecasting,the fra-mework provides a valuable means to monitor the security intrusions in IoT.

Boosting image watermarking authenticity spreading secrecy from counting-based secret-sharing

This study presents enhancing images authentication by securing watermarking hidden data via shares generated from counting-based secret *** trustfulness of shares utilised secret-sharing as an applicable privacy creation tool for the authentication of real-life complex *** research adjusts embedding the watermarking data over the images by innovative redistribution of shares to be embedded spread over all the *** anticipated watermarking technique guaranteed to scatter the share bits implanting at different least significant bits of image pixels as boosting up the trust overall authentication *** paper experimentation performance analysis shows that this improved image watermarking authentication(capacity)is averagely better by 33%–67%than other related exclusive-OR oriented and octagon ***,these measurement improvements did not degrade the robustness and security of the system,inspiring our research for opening novel track of related future counting-based secret-sharing authentication progresses to come.

Managing Software Testing Technical Debt Using Evolutionary algorithms

Improving data hiding within colour images using hue component of HSV colour space

Data hiding technologies aim to hide the existence of secret information within digital covers such as images by causing unnoticeable degradation to their *** the image distortion and increasing the embedding capacity are the main points that the data hiding techniques revolved *** article proposes two high payload embedding methods with high stego image quality using the Hue-Saturation-Value(HSV)colour *** first method is hue-based embedding(HBE)that employs the H plane for hiding one or two bits in non-grey *** second method uses the three HSV components,so it is called three-planes embedding(TPE).In TPE,one bit is hidden in the least significant bit(LSB)of V of the grey pixels,one or two bits in H of the pixels having low saturation or low brightness and one bit in the LSB of S *** experiments were conducted on 25 images and the results show that HBE hides more data on average than TPE with its quality reaching 60 *** achieves quality up to 61 dB and capacity reaches 364 *** scores the highest capacity among six state-of-the-art techniques in Red-Green-Blue,HSV,Hue-Saturation-Intensity and YCbCr spaces with the highest average peak signal to noise ratio midst five of *** embedding 60,90,and 120 Kb,this TPE attains the best average quality amid all the methods.

A Coprocessor Architecture for 80/112-bit Security Related Applications

We have proposed a flexible coprocessor key-authentication architecture for 80/112-bit security-related applications over GF(2m)field by employing Elliptic-curve Diffie Hellman(ECDH)*** flexibility,a serial input/output interface is used to load/produce secret,public,and shared keys ***,to reduce the hardware resources and to achieve a reasonable time for cryptographic computations,we have proposed a finite field digit-serial multiplier architecture using combined shift and accumulate ***,two finite-statemachine controllers are used to perform efficient control *** proposed coprocessor architecture over GF(2^(163))and GF(2^(233))is programmed using Verilog and then implemented on Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA(field-programmable-gate-array)*** GF(2^(163))and GF(2^(233)),the proposed flexible coprocessor use 1351 and 1789 slices,the achieved clock frequency is 250 and 235MHz,time for one public key computation is 40.50 and 79.20μs and time for one shared key generation is 81.00 and 158.40μ***,the consumed power over GF(2^(163))and GF(2^(233))is 0.91 and 1.37mW,*** proposed coprocessor architecture outperforms state-of-the-art ECDH designs in terms of hardware resources.
