In previous research much effort has been devoted to the geometry of woven fabrics and relat-ed problems under the assumption of constant yarn configuration in *** paper will first re-port that image crimp (yarn crimp measured by an image analysis method) seems larger than *** the explanation of this result,the variation of yarn configuration in woven fabric dueto the non-uniform flattening is *** significance of this actual structure of woven fabricsis *** is believed that the variation of yarn configuration is very important for fabric per-formance,and may be an advantage for fabric quality.

This paper describes an investigation of the effect of surface morphology on the adhesion of paint to aluminium substrates. Comparisons are made with the surface morphology, both treated with a chromate conversion coating and abraded with emery paper only, and their bond strength to chlorinated rubber lacquer in dry and wet conditions was investigated. Although the surface of a chromate conversion coating is not as rough as that of one abraded with emery paper, it exhibits an excellent bond strength with an organic coating. It indicates that no mechanical inter lock is the main factor affecting the adhesion strength. Furthermore, it shows a promotion of adhesion after immersing in 3% NaCl solution for several days. Chemical analysis of the paint film and metallic substrate reveals that adhesion failure occurs between the paint film and chromate conversion coating.

In this paper, through two case studies, evaporation systems are considered in the context of overall process, and then are optimized to obtain energy-saving effect. The possible evaporation schemes are given when integrated with the background process and how to optimize the evaporator is shown. From the case studies, it can be seen that sometimes incomplete integration and heat pump evaporation are better than complete integration so should be considered as candidate retrofit schemes.

A family of symmetric (hybrid) two step sixth P-stable methods for the accurate numerical integration of second order periodic initial value problems have been considered in this paper. These methods, which require only three (new) function evaluation per iteration and per step integration. These methods have minimal local truncation error (LTE) and smaller phase-lag of sixth order than some sixth orders P-stable methods in [1-3,10-11]. The theoretical and numerical results show that these methods in this paper are more accurate and efficient than some methods proposed in [1-3,10].

A series of glass fibre reinforced composites based on novel blend matrices were fabricated us-ing reaction injection moulding （RIM） *** blends were made of sub-sequentialinterpenetrating polymer networks of acrylic-polyurea or acrylic-copoly（urea-isocyanurate）.Themechanical and thermal properties were characterized by tensile test and dynamic mechanical *** fracture data from single edge notch bend tests were analysed using fracture mechanicsfor the composites to give KIC and GIC.The correlation between reaction kinetics and morphologyof the blend and the composite properties were *** investigations showed that the novelblends have good bonding property on glass fibre,thus good processability in RIM,and the re-suited composites have good mechanical and thermal properties.
