Rheological and stability analysis of cement pastes incorporating silica-based wastes

This study investigates the influence of waste characteristics,especially zeta potential,on the properties of cement pastes and *** focus is to evaluate the impact of the zeta potential of cement particles and waste materials on the sedimentation speed,rheology,and hardening time of stabilized cement *** Cement II F 40,retarder additive,silica,and fly ash were used in the *** pastes were prepared,and during the stabilization period,their rheological properties and pH were *** zeta potential and sedimentation speed of the cement and waste particles were measured at the pH that the pastes presented during the entire stabilization *** the stabilization period,the pastes were subjected to the hardening time *** zeta potential analyses revealed diverse values for the different powder types,with the cement particles exhibiting a zeta potential of−3.0 mV,the silica particles exhibiting−10.5 mV,and the fly ash particles exhibiting−20.3 *** influence of the high zeta potential modulus was observed on the sedimentation speed,with the solution containing fly ash exhibiting a speed of 40.01μm/s,whereas the solution containing only cement exhibited a speed of 99.38μm/*** the pastes,the results indicate that the presence of fly ash particles with a significantly negative zeta potential led to a 16%reduction in hardening time compared to particles with a lower modulus of zeta *** tests showed that the inclusion of fly ash particles prevented the formation of *** the zeta potential influenced agglomerate formation and hardening time,it was found to have no effect on yield stress or viscosity.

Carbon-based solid lubricants are excellent options to reduce friction and wear,especially with the carbon capability to adopt different allotropes *** the macroscale,these materials are sheared on the contact along with debris and contaminants to form tribolayers that govern the tribosystem *** a recently developed advanced Raman analysis on the tribolayers,it was possible to quantify the contactinduced defects in the crystalline structure of a wide range of allotropes of carbon-based solid lubricants,from graphite and carbide-derived carbon particles to multi-layer graphene and carbon *** addition,these materials were tested under various dry sliding conditions,with different geometries,topographies,and solid-lubricant application *** of the initial tribosystem conditions and allotrope level of atomic ordering,there is a remarkable trend of increasing the point and line defects density until a specific saturation limit in the same order of magnitude for all the materials tested.

In the Freudian-Lacanian field,there is an important distinction between knowledge and *** truth,of an unconscious nature,is something that inhabits us,directs us,but that escapes ***,in turn,is something to be invented,from the hole of the Real,the Unconscious truth,and the subjective *** relationships between playing,creating,and fantasizing;the dimension of the uncanny,fiction,and imagination in subjectivity;the invention of knowledge of oneself,derived from the pains and flavors of being who one is,are creative dimensions that inhabit the subject,permeate the analytical act,and transversalize *** the practice,we listen to and witness processes of analysis that awaken an invention/reinvention of oneself,in the process of remembering,repeating,and elaborating,but also in what the transference relationship *** of oneself,does not guarantee a life without mishaps,sadness,and illusions,but allows the invention and recognition of knowledge and a *** concept of Sinthome(2007),coined by Jacques Lacan,comes in the wake of the processes of self-invention and is a knowing-doing with the symptom,with the paradoxes of joyful suffering,producing,as a result,an art of ***,in this communication,I will articulate elements of theory,practice,and psychoanalytic experience that allow us to expand knowledge of the themes of invention and imagination articulated with the concept of sinthome,their relationships with subjectivity,and the direction of psychoanalytic treatment.

Risk factors for running-related injuries:An umbrella systematic review

Purpose:This umbrella systematic review(SR)of SRs and meta-analysis seeks to comprehensively synthesize existing literature to identify and consolidate the diverse range of risk factors contributing to running-related injuries(RRIs).Methods:Systematic searches were conducted on June 28,2023,across Web of Science,SPORTDiscus,Scopus,PubMed,and Cochrane *** included SRs,whether accompanied by meta-analyses or not,that focused on investigating risk factors for RRIs within observational *** methodological quality of the SRs was evaluated using the Assessing the Methodological Quality of Systematic Reviews *** assess the extent of overlap across reviews,the corrected covered area metric was ***:From 1509 records retrieved,13 SRs were *** degree of overlap between SRs was low(4%),and quality varied from critically low(n=8)to low(n=5).Two hundred seven outcomes assessed in 148 primary studies were identified as being associated with the occurrence of *** effect sizes of the associations for which risk measures were reported(n=131)were classified as large(n=30,23%),medium(n=38,29%),small(n=48,37%)or no effect(n=15,11%).Running/training characteristics,health and lifestyle factors,along with morphological and biomechanical aspects,exhibit large effect sizes in increasing the risk for ***:Drawing from the outcomes of the low-quality SRs and associations with large effect sizes,our findings indicate that running/training characteristics and health and lifestyle factors,as well as morphological and biomechanical aspects,are all implicated in elevating the risk of RRIs,emphasizing the multifactorial basis of injury incidence in *** the low quality and heterogeneity of SR,individual findings warrant cautious interpretation.

The Use of Secondary Grape Biomass in Beef Cattle Nutrition on Carcass Characteristics, Quality and Shelf Life of Meat

We determined whether the inclusion of 100 g/kg dry matter of grape pomace silage (GPS) and grape pomace bran (GPB) as substitutes for other traditional fiber sources in the diet of steers (Charolais x Nellore) would improve carcass characteristics, meat quality and composition, and shelf life. Twenty-four animals (248 ± 19.32 kg of initial body weight) were fed a high concentrate diet for 121 days. Carcass characteristics were measured, and the longissimus dorsi muscle was analyzed for fatty acid (FA) profile and composition. The meat was sliced and stored in air-permeable packages for 10 days. On each sampling day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidative stability, bacterial load, lipid and protein oxidation, and staining were analyzed. The experimental diets influenced the pH of cold carcasses only. The GPS group had a higher pH than the control. The GPS and GPB groups showed improved oxidant status (i.e., lower lipid peroxidation and concentrations of reactive oxygen species were in the meat of both groups than in control). On the first day of storage, the antioxidant enzyme glutathione S-transferase activity was more significant in the meat of the GPS and GPB groups than in the control. The bacterial loads in the meat were attenuated by GPS inclusion;there were lower total coliform counts and a trend toward lower counts for enterobacteria in the control group. The diets altered the FA profile of the meat;i.e., the GPB diet allowed for a more significant amount of the n-6 omegas in the meat, while the GPS diet showed a tendency for a more significant amount of n-6 and 9 omegas. Both diets (GPS and GPB) increased the amounts of long-chain FAs. The GPS diet decreased saturated FA levels. We conclude that the dietary treatments GPS and GPB are a promising alternative to maintain meat quality standards throughout in real-world retail conditions. The present study aimed to determine whether natural dehydrated feed (DNF) can replace dry extruded feed while preserving the required daily intake, nutrient digestibility and benefits for immunity and antioxidant response in cats. The animals were divided into two groups of seven animals each. One group received DNF, and the other consumed commercial extruded dry feed (DCF). The experiment lasted 45 days and we measured daily consumption and collected blood and feces samples. The animals in the DNF group showed greater digestibility of fiber and mineral matter than DCF. Cats in the DNF group had a higher volume of feces. DNF cats had lower leukocyte and granulocyte counts and cholesterol levels. Serum enzymatic antioxidant responses and non-enzymatic were higher in DNF cats. Cats in the DNF group showed lower serum acute phase proteins in addition to a tendency toward a higher concentration of transferrin than in the DCF group. Fecal Escherichia coli and total coliform counts of cats fed DNF were higher than DCF. We conclude that the daily consumption of cats is adequate. This feed had greater digestibility of fiber and mineral matter, in addition to an improvement in antioxidant and immunological responses.

The autonomous vehicle(AV)technology has the potential to significantly improve safety and efficiency of the transportation and logistics ***-scale AV testing is limited by time,space,and cost,while simulation-based testing often lacks the necessary accuracy of AV and environmental *** recent years,several initiatives have emerged to test autonomous software and hardware on scaled *** systematic literature review provides an overview of the literature surrounding small-scale self-driving cars,summarizing the current autonomous platforms deployed and focusing on the software and hardware developments in this *** studies published in English-language journals or conference papers that present small-scale testing of self-driving cars were *** of Science,Scopus,Springer Link,Wiley,ACM Digital Library,and TRID databases were used for the literature *** systematic literature search found 38 eligible *** gaps in the reviewed papers were identified to provide guidance for future *** key takeaway emerging from this manuscript are:(i)there is a need to improve the models and neural network architectures used in autonomous driving systems,as most papers present only preliminary results;(ii)increasing datasets and sharing databases can help in developing more reliable control policies and reducing bias and variance in the training process;(iii)small-scaled vehicles to ensure safety is a major benefit,and incorporating data about unsafe driving behaviors and infrastructure problems can improve the accuracy of predictive models.
