Reputation mechanisms are a key technique to trust assessment in large-scale decentralized systems. The effectiveness of reputation-based trust management fundamentally relies on the assumption that an entity＇s future behavior may be predicted based on its past behavior. Though many reputation-based trust schemes have been proposed, they can often be easily manipulated and exploited, since an attacker may adapt its behavior, and make the above assumption invalid. In other words, existing trust schemes are in general only effective when applied to honest players who usually act with certain consistency instead of adversaries who can behave arbitrarily. In this paper, we investigate the modeling of honest entities in decentralized systems. We build a statistical model for the transaction histories of honest players. This statistical model serves as a profiling tool to identify suspicious entities. It is combined with existing trust schemes to ensure that they are applied to entities whose transaction records are consistent with the statistical model. This approach limits the manipulation capability of adversaries, and thus can significantly improve the quality of reputation-based trust assessment.

Objective Hypoglossal nerve-facial nerve‘side’-to-side neurorrhaphy is a new method for the treatment of potential incomplete facial paralysis after acoustic ***,there are differences in postoperative outcomes among *** study analysed preoperative factors that may influence the treatment outcomes of *** We performed a retrospective study of 53 patients who were treated by neurorrhaphy for facial paralysis after acoustic neuroma *** a one-year follow-up period,the patients were divided into two groups according to facial functional outcome:better recovery or ordinary *** analysed the following factors:gender,age,tumour size,and characteristics,tumour adhesion to the facial nerve,the duration of facial paralysis(DFP)and F wave appearance prior to neurorrhaphy(F wave).Results univariate analysis showed significant differences between the two groups in DFP(P=0.0002),tumour adhesion to the facial nerve(P=0.0079)and F waves(P=0.0048).Logistic regression analysis of these factors also showed statistical significance with P values of 0.042 for the DFP,0.043 for F waves,and 0.031 for tumour adhesion to the facial *** Tumour adhesion to the facial nerve,F waves appearance and DFP prior to neurorrhaphy are the predominant factors that influence treatment outcomes.

Limited main memory bandwidth is becoming a fundamental performance bottleneck in chipmultiprocessor （CMP） design. Yet directly increasing the peak memory bandwidth can incur high cost and power consumption. In this paper, we address this problem by proposing a memory, a bandwidth-aware reconfigurable cache hierarchy, BACH, with hybrid memory technologies. Components of our BACH design include a hybrid cache hierarchy, a reconfiguration mechanism, and a statistical prediction engine. Our hybrid cache hierarchy chooses different memory technologies with various bandwidth characteristics, such as spin-transfer torque memory （STT-MRAM）, resistive memory （ReRAM）, and embedded DRAM （eDRAM）, to configure each level so that the peak bandwidth of the overall cache hierarchy is optimized. Our reconfiguration mechanism can dynamically adjust the cache capacity of each level based on the predicted bandwidth demands of running workloads. The bandwidth prediction is performed by our prediction engine. We evaluate the system performance gain obtained by BACH design with a set of multithreaded and multiprogrammed workloads with and without the limitation of system power budget. Compared with traditional SRAM-based cache design, BACH improves the system throughput by 58% and 14% with multithreaded and multiprogrammed workloads respectively.

Molecular dynamics(MD)has served as a powerful tool for designing materials with reduced reliance on laboratory ***,the use of MD directly to treat the deformation and failure of materials at the mesoscale is still largely beyond *** this work,we propose a learning framework to extract a peridynamics model as a mesoscale continuum surrogate from MD simulated material fracture data ***,we develop a novel coarse-graining method,to automatically handle the material fracture and its corresponding discontinuities in the MD displacement data *** by the weighted essentially non-oscillatory(WENO)scheme,the key idea lies at an adaptive procedure to automatically choose the locally smoothest stencil,then reconstruct the coarse-grained material displacement field as the piecewise smooth solutions containing ***,based on the coarse-grained MD data,a two-phase optimizationbased learning approach is proposed to infer the optimal peridynamics model with damage *** the first phase,we identify the optimal nonlocal kernel function from the data sets without material damage to capture the material stiffness ***,in the second phase,the material damage criterion is learnt as a smoothed step function from the data with *** a result,a peridynamics surrogate is *** a continuum model,our peridynamics surrogate model can be employed in further prediction tasks with different grid resolutions from training,and hence allows for substantial reductions in computational cost compared with *** illustrate the efficacy of the proposed approach with several numerical tests for the dynamic crack propagation problem in a single-layer *** tests show that the proposed data-driven model is robust and generalizable,in the sense that it is capable of modeling the initialization and growth of fractures under discretization and loading settings that are different from the ones used during training.

K-anonymisation is an approach to protecting individuals from being identified from data. Good k-anonymisations should retain data utility and preserve privacy, but few methods have considered these two conflicting requirements together. In this paper, we extend our previous work on a clustering-based method for balancing data utility and privacy protection, and propose a set of heuristics to improve its effectiveness. We introduce new clustering criteria that treat utility and privacy on equal terms and propose sampling-based techniques to optimally set up its parameters. Extensive experiments show that the extended method achieves good accuracy in query answering and is able to prevent linking attacks effectively.
