Multi-omics analysis reveals the molecular regulatory network underlying the prevention of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum against LPs-induced salpingitis in laying hens

Background salpingitis is one of the common diseases in laying hen production, which greatly decreases the economic outcome of laying hen farming. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum was effective in preventing local or systemic inflammation, however rare studies were reported on its prevention against salpingitis. This study aimed to investigate the preventive molecular regulatory network of microencapsulated Lactiplantibacillus plantarum(MLP) against salpingitis through multi-omics analysis, including microbiome, transcriptome and metabolome *** The results revealed that supplementation of MLP in diet significantly alleviated the inflammation and atrophy of uterus caused by lipopolysaccharide(LPs) in hens(P s of plasma IL-2 and IL-10 in hens of MLP-LPs group were higher than those in hens of LPs-stimulation group(CN-LPs group)(P ssion levels of TLR2, MYD88, NF-κB, COX2, and TNF-α were significantly decreased in the hens fed diet supplemented with MLP and suffered with LPs stimulation(MLP-LPs group) compared with those in the hens of CN-LPs group(P ssed genes(DEGs) induced by MLP were involved in inflammation, reproduction, and calcium ion transport. At the genus level, the MLP supplementation significantly increased the abundance of Phascolarctobacterium, whereas decreased the abundance of Candidatus_saccharimonas in LPs challenged hens(P s altered by dietary supplementation with MLP were mainly involved in galactose, uronic acid, histidine, pyruvate and primary bile acid metabolism. With the exploding prevalence of obesity,many children are at risk of developing nonalcoholic fatty liver *** anthropometric and laboratory parameters,our study aimed to develop a model to quantitatively evaluate liver fat content(LFC)in children with *** A well-characterized cohort of 181 children between 5 and 16 years of age were recruited to the study in the Endocrinology Department as the derivation *** external validation cohort comprised 77 *** assessment of liver fat content was performed using proton magnetic resonance *** and laboratory metrics were measured in all subjects.B-ultrasound examination was carried out in the external validation *** Kruskal-Wallis test,spearman bivariate correlation analyses,univariable linear regressions and multivariable linear regression were used to build the optimal predictive *** The model was based on indicators including alanine aminotransferase,homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance,triglycerides,waist circumference and Tanner *** adjusted R^(2)of the model was 0.589,which presented high sensitivity and specificity both in internal[sensitivity of 0.824,specificity of 0.900,area under curve(AuC)of 0.900 with a 95%confidence interval:0.783–1.000]and external validation(sensitivity of 0.918 and specificity of 0.821,AuC of 0.901 with a 95%confidence interval:0.818–0.984).Conclusions Our model based on five clinical indicators was simple,non-invasive,and inexpensive;it had high sensitivity and specificity in predicting LFC in ***,it may be useful for identifying children with obesity who are at risk for developing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

Organic electrode materials are promising for ***,the reported organic electrodes are often facing the challenges of low specific capacity,low voltage,poor rate capability and vague charge storage mechanisms,*** are good platform to investigate the charge storage mechanisms and enhance the performance of batteries,which,however,have not been focused in ***,two isomers are reported for *** a result,the isomer tetrathiafulvalene(TTF)could store two monovalent anions reversibly,deriving an average discharge voltage of 1.05 V and a specific capacity of 220 mAh g−1 at a current density of 2 *** the other hand,the other isomer tetrathianaphthalene could only reversibly store one monovalent anion and upon further oxidation,it would undergo an irreversible solid-state molecular rearrangement to *** molecular rearrangement was confirmed by electrochemical performances,X-ray diffraction patterns,nuclear magnetic resonance spectra,and 1H detected heteronuclear multiple bond correlation *** results suggested the small structural change could lead to a big difference in anion storage,and we hope this work will stimulate more attention to the structural design for boosting the performance of organic batteries.

Federated learning(FL)is an emerging privacy-preserving distributed computing paradigm,enabling numerous clients to collaboratively train machine learning models without the necessity of transmitting clients’private datasets to the central *** most existing research where the local datasets of clients are assumed to be unchanged over time throughout the whole FL process,our study addresses such scenarios in this paper where clients’datasets need to be updated periodically,and the server can incentivize clients to employ as fresh as possible datasets for local model *** primary objective is to design a client selection strategy to minimize the loss of the global model for FL loss within a constrained *** this end,we introduce the concept of“Age of Information”(AoI)to quantitatively assess the freshness of local datasets and conduct a theoretical analysis of the convergence bound in our AoI-aware FL *** on the convergence bound,we further formulate our problem as a restless multi-armed bandit(RMAB)***,we relax the RMAB problem and apply the Lagrangian Dual approach to decouple it into multiple ***,we propose a Whittle’s Index Based Client selection(WICs)algorithm to determine the set of selected *** addition,comprehensive simulations su.s.antiate that the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce training loss and enhance the learning accuracy compared with some state-of-the-art methods.

Image bitmaps,i.e.,data containing pixels and visual perception,have been widely used in emerging applica-tions for pixel operations while consuming lots of memory space and *** with legacy DRAM(dynamic ran-dom access memory),non-volatile memories(NVMs)are suitable for bitmap storage due to the salient features of high density and intrinsic ***,writing NVMs suffers from higher energy consumption and latency compared with read *** precise or approximate compression schemes in NVM controllers show limited performance for bitmaps due to the irregular data patterns and variance in *** observe the pixel-level similarity when writing bitmaps due to the analogous contents in adjacent *** exploiting the pixel-level similarity,we propose simCom,an approximate similarity-aware compression scheme in the NVM module controller,to efficiently compress data for each write access *** idea behind simCom is to compress continuous similar words into the pairs of base words with *** storage costs for small ru.s.are further mitigated by reusing the least significant bits of base *** adaptively selects an appropriate compression mode for various bitmap formats,thus achieving an efficient trade-off be-tween quality and memory *** implement simCom on GEM5/zsim with NVMain and evaluate the perfor-mance with real-world image/video *** results demonstrate the efficacy and efficiency of our simCom with an efficient quality-performance trade-off.

The thermal protection of rocket engines is a crucial aspect of rocket engine *** this paper,the gas film/regenerative composite cooling of the liquid oxygen/liquid methane(LOX/LCH4)rocket engine thrust chamber was investigated.A gas film/regenerative composite cooling model was developed based on the Grisson gas film cooling efficiency formula and the one-dimensional regenerative cooling *** accuracy of the model was validated through experiments conducted on a 6 kg/s level gas film/regenerative composite cooling thrust ***,key parameters related to heat transfer performance were *** results demonstrate that the model is sufficiently accurate to be used as a preliminary design *** temperature rise error of the coolant,when compared with the experimental results,was found to be less than 10%.Although the pressure drop error is relatively large,the calculated results still provide valuable guidance for heat transfer *** addition,the performance of composite cooling is observed to be superior to regenerative *** the gas film flow rate results in higher cooling efficiency and a lower gas-side wall ***,the position at which the gas film is introduced greatly impacts the cooling *** optimal introduction position for the gas film is determined when the film is introduced from a single row of *** optimal introduction position results in a more uniform wall temperature distribution and reduces the peak ***,it is observed that a double row of holes,when compared to a single row of holes,enhances the cooling effect in the superposition area of the gas film and further lowers the gas-side wall *** results provide a basis for the design of gas film/regenerative composite cooling systems.

In the domain of point cloud registration,the coarse-to-fine feature matching paradigm has received significant attention due to its impressive *** paradigm involves a two-step process:first,the extraction of multilevel features,and su.s.quently,the propagation of correspondences from coarse to fine ***,this approach faces two notable ***,the use of the Dual softmax operation may promote one-to-one correspondences between superpoints,inadvertently excluding valuable ***,it is crucial to closely examine the overlapping areas between point clou.s.as only correspondences within these regions decisively determine the actual *** these issu.s.we propose OAAFormer to enhance correspondence *** the one hand,we introduce a soft matching mechanism to facilitate the propagation of potentially valuable correspondences from coarse to fine *** the other hand,we integrate an overlapping region detection module to minimize mismatches to the greatest extent ***,we introduce a region-wise attention module with linear complexity during the fine-level matching phase,designed to enhance the discriminative capabilities of the extracted *** on the challenging 3DLoMatch benchmark demonstrate that our approach leads to a su.s.antial increase of about 7%in the inlier ratio,as well as an enhancement of 2%-4%in registration ***,to accelerate the prediction process,we replace the Conventional Random sample Consensus(RANsAC)algorithm with the selection of a limited yet representative set of high-confidence correspondences,resulting in a 100 times speedup while still maintaining comparable registration performance.

Hollow semiconductor nanostructures with direct Z-scheme heterojunction have significant advantages for photocatalytic reactions,and optimizing the interfacial charge transmission of Z-scheme heterojunction is the hinge to achieve excellent solar conversion *** this work,tubular Ni_(1−x)Co_(x)s_(2)-Cds heterostructures with reinforced Z-scheme charge transmission were constructed through an In-metal-organic framework(MOF)templated *** Z-scheme charge transfer mechanism was sufficiently confirmed by combining density functional theory(DFT)calculation,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPs),surface photovoltage spectroscopy(sPV),and radical testing ***,the use of sodium citrate complexant contributes to the formation of intimate heterointerface,and the Fermi level gap between Cds and Nis_(2)is enlarged through Co doping into Nis_(2),which enhances the built-in electric field and photo-carriers transmission driving force for Ni_(1−x)Co_(x)s_(2)-Cds heterojunction,resulting in an evidently promoted activity toward H2 evolution reaction(HER).under visible-light(λ>400 nm)irradiation,the Ni_(1−x)Co_(x)s_(2)-Cds composite with 10 mol%Co doping and 80 wt.%Cds(NC_(0.10)s-80%Cds)achieved an ou.s.anding HER rate up to 35.94 mmol·g^(−1)·h^(−1)(corresponding to the apparent quantum efficiency of 34.7%at 420 nm),approximately 76.4 times that of 3 wt.%Pt-loaded Cds and it is much superior to that of most Cds-based photocatalysts ever ***,the good photocatalytic durability of Ni_(1−x)Co_(x)s_(2)-Cds heterostructures was validated by cycling and long-term HER *** work could inspire the development of high-performance Z-scheme heterojunction via optimizing the morphology and interfacial charge transmission.
