Soil resistomes of conventional and organic systems were similar in terms of ARG *** resistomes of conventional and organic systems were different regarding individual *** bacteria and archaea can contribute significantly to soil *** studies of various soil environments have previously revealed the widespread distribution of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) around the globe. In this study, we applied shotgun metagenomics to investigate differences in microbial communities and resistomes in Chernozem soils that have been under long-term organic and conventional cropping practices. The organic cropping system was seeded with Triticum spelta without any fertilizer. The conventional cropping system was seeded with Triticum durum Desf and used mineral fertilizer (NPK), that resulted in an increased amount of total and available carbon and nitrogen in soils. Across all samples, we identified a total of 21 ARG classes, among which the dominant were vancomycin, tetracycline and multidrug. Profiling of soil microbial communities revealed differences between the studied fields in the relative abundances of 14 and 53 genera in topsoil and subsoil, respectively. Correlation analysis showed significant correlations (positive and negative) among 18 genera and 6 ARGs, as well as between these ARGs and some chemical properties of soils. The analysis of metagenome-assembled genomes revealed that Nitrospirota, Thermoproteota, Actinobacteriota and Binatota phyla of archaea and bacteria serve as hosts for glycopeptide and fluoroquinolone/tetracycline ARGs. Collectively, the data obtained enrich knowledge about the consequences of human agricultural activities in terms of soil microbiome modification and highlight the role of nitrogen cycling taxa, including uncultivated genera, in the formation of soil resistome.

Catalytic co-combustion of biomass and brown coal in a fluidized bed:Economic and environmental benefits

The work is devoted to the study of combustion of brown coal,pine sawdust,and their mixtures in a fluidized bed of catalyst at 600-750℃.It is shown that an increase in the content of sawdust in a mixture with brown coal leads to an increase in the burnout degree of solid fuel from 94.4%to 99.9%,while the emission of greenhouse gases in the form of CO_(2)CO and NOxis reduced(CO_(2)from the biomass is not included in the balance).The high content of alkaline earth metal oxides(CaO and MgO)in the mineral part of brown coal,sawdust,and their mixtures eliminates the emission of sulfur oxides and the slagging of heat-exchange surfaces during the combustion in a fluidized bed of *** optimal temperature,when the highest burnout degree of the above fuels is achieved in the combustion is 750℃.It is also shown that the increase in temperature and the content of sawdust in the composition of the fuel mixtures has a positive effect on the economic and environmental process indicators.

We report on the novel heterometallic quaternary selenide EuCeCuSe3,the fabrication of which has been a challenge until this *** structure of the reported selenide was elucidated from the powder X-ray diffraction data,which revealed the formation of EuCeCuSe3with excellent yield(96.7%)accompanied with a minor fraction of CeSe2(3.3%),and was best solved in orthorhombic space group Pnma with the BaLaCuS3structural ***,the crystal structure of the title compound completes the row of the heterometallic quaternary selenides EuRECuSe3(RE=La,Pr,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Y),of which the cerium-based derivative exclusively belongs to the BaLaCuS3structural *** distortion of the CuSe4polyhedron was compared for the whole series of EuRECuSe3compounds using theτ4-descriptor for four coordinated ions,which revealed the highest degree of distortion for the Ce3+-containing selenide,followed by the La3+-based ***,the crystallographic and geometrical parameters of the reported selenide were discussed in comparison to the Ce3+-based sulfides SrCeCuS3and *** initio calculations of the crystal structure,a phonon spectrum and elastic constants for the crystal of EuCeCuSe3were also *** types and wavenumbers of fundame ntal modes were determined and the involvement of ions participating in the phonon modes was *** experimental IR spectrum of the reported selenide was interpreted and found to be in agreement with the calculated *** experimental direct band gap of EuCeCuSe3was measured to be 1.36 eV that is consistent with the concept of its origin due to interband transitions between orbitals emerging mainly from 4f(valence band)and 5d(conduction band)levels of the Eu2+*** dependence of the Young’s modulus on the direction demonstrates the anisotropy of the elastic properties,while the Vickers hardness for EuCeCuSe3was calculated to be 5.2 ***,the title compound is paramagnetic above 4 K.

In Western Siberia(Russia) there are about 100 Artemia lakes with total area over 1 600 km *** these lakes are located between 51°–56°N and 61°–82°*** general these lakes are shallow(depth less than 1.5 m),small or medium size(0.1 to 10 km 2);they are chloride;their total salinity is from 40 to 250 g/*** harvesting of cysts per year is only in 20–40 *** Russia 550 tons of dry Artemia cysts(14%–18% of the world production) were harvested *** includes about 350 tons in the Altai region and 200 tons in other *** our regular 20-year study period the cyst harvest was:95 tons in Kurgan;65 tons in Omsk,20 tons in Novosibirsk,20 tons in *** of increasing cyst harvest in Russia are considered in this *** the last 30 years the harvest of cysts in Russia has increased from 7–20 to 500–600 tons.A significant influence of dryness of the year was found on productivity in selected lakes,but taken for all the lakes together,the relationship was not *** optimal salinity for productivity of cysts in the lakes was *** of productivity of the lakes and the harvesting results showed that the stocks of cysts are underutilized by approximately 1.7 times.

We explored the potential use of combining wavelength-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(WDX) and micromorphology of thin sections to identify minerals in peat soils. Peat soil minerals from three peats and swamps across Golestan Province in northern Iran were first characterized by micromorphological studies. Soils were composed mainly of quartz, muscovite, biotite, pyroxene,sericitized Fe-nodules, and iron-rich garnet. In addition,micromorphological results indicated that Galougah Coastal Swamp sections contained some inorganic residue with biological origin including oyster and limpet, which may be related to the swamp's location near Gorgan *** order to determine mineralogical properties of samples,twelve unknown grains were chosen for elemental concentration map studies. Quartz, garnet, ilmenite, calcite,and pyroxene in Suteh samples; epidote and Fe-nodule in Ghaleh-Ghafeh Peat Swamp; and barite, phyllosilicates,and calcite in Galougah were identified by WDX mapping of Si, Al, Fe, Ca, Mg, C, Ba, S, and Ti. Composition of the oysters' body was also analyzed by WDX for Si, Ca, Fe,and C. The results indicated that most of the minerals in all sections likely formed through weathering, inheriting their composition from the parent rock. This research suggests that merging micromorphology and SEM/WDX image techniques can be useful in confirming the presence of mineral particles in soil science.

In the present work we studied the induction periods of hydrate formation of natural gas in pure water, aqueous solutions of surfactants, and in the presence of surfactant together with aluminum oxide nanopowder, the activity of which as hydrate formation inducer was studied previously. Sodium dodecyl sulfate（SDS） or neonol AF-9-12 were used as the surfactants. It was demonstrated that the addition of either surfactants or aluminum oxide powder under our experimental conditions causes a decrease in the induction period of hydrate formation from;05 min for pure water to 30–35 min for water with additives. In the case of the simultaneous presence of surfactants and aluminum oxide powder in the system, induction period decreased to;0 min. So, the synergistic effect of the combination of surfactant and oxide powder on gas hydrate nucleation was demonstrated. Possible reasons of this effect have been discussed.

In petroleum-producing territories of West Siberia(Russia),oil well gas flares have a thermal effect on nearby plant *** communities can be used as models for studying plant acclimation to global *** the present study on the effect of the hydrothermal regime at the flare sites on mesophyll and stomatal functional traits of Betula pubescens,leaves were collected from trees at250 m(control site[CS]),200,150 and 100 m(maximum impact site[MIS])from a *** the CS to MIS site,the average annual air temperature increased by 0.5℃and bog water level decreased by 17 *** plants from the MIS,stomata were 16%smaller and density was 20%lower compared to those at the CS,resulting in lower maximum stomatal conductance in plants from the MIS(mean±SE:MIS 0.84±0.05 mol·m^(-2)s^(-1),CS 1.24±0.06 mol·m^(-2)s^(-1);F=12.6,P<0.01).Mesophyll cell volume was 1.9 times lower at MIS than at *** numbers per cell also declined with distance from the flares,from 21(MIS)to18(CS;F=15.6,P<0.001),and chloroplast volume was 24%higher at the CS,whereas the number of mesophyll cells and chloroplasts numbers per unit leaf area were 1.9 and 1.8 times higher at the MIS than at the CS,*** a result,leaves from the MIS had a large total mesophyll cell(Ames/A)and chloroplast(Achl/A)surface area per unit leaf area,resulting in a 46%increase in mesophyll conductance in plants from the ***,structural changes in leaf epidermis consisted of a decrease in stomatal size and number,could lower transpiration losses with higher temperatures and less *** compensate for the reduction in leaf conductance due to a decrease in stomatal conductance under these conditions,an increase in the number of mesophyll cells and chloroplasts per unit area provides a greater gas-exchange area and mesophyll conductance.

The results on a dissociation behavior of propane hydrates prepared from ＂dry water＂ and contained unreacted residual water in the form of ice inclusions or supercooled liquid water（water solution of gas） were presented for temperatures below 273 *** temperature ramping or pressure release method was used for the dissociation of propane hydrate *** was found that the mechanism of gas hydrate dissociation at temperatures below 273 K depended on the phase state of unreacted water in the hydrate *** hydrates dissociated into ice and gas if the ice inclusions were in the hydrate *** samples of propane hydrates with inclusions of unreacted supercooled water only（without ice inclusions） dissociated into supercooled water and gas below the pressure of the supercooled water-hydrate-gas metastable equilibrium.
