Mechanism of reduction-diffusion reaction in Sm-Fe binary system at low temperature using molten salts

In this study,the mechanism of the reduction-diffusion reaction in a Sm-Fe binary system at low temperature was studied to investigate the possibility of synthesis of a Fe-rich TbCu7-type SmFex（x>9）by the low-temperature diffusion-reduction（LTRD） process using LiCl-KCl eutectic molten ***,the Sm-Fe phase transformation depending on the Sm-Fe composition,the LTRD temperature,and time was investigated,and it is found that the obtained metastable phase is only TbCu7-type SmFe～8.5,which is not a Fe-rich *** Fe content does not change even after an expended LTRD process,and the metastable TbCu7-type SmFe～8.5tends to transform to the stable *** addition,it is found that the Sm-Fe phase starts to synthesize from the Sm-rich phase in the order of SmFe2,SmFe3,and SmFe8.5as the LTRD temperature increases（when the time was 10 h） or the LTRD time increases（when the temperature was 550℃）.Core-shell-like particles are observed in the case of a short LTRD time,and the core and the shell are Fe and the Sm-rich Sm-Fe phase,respectively,indicating that the Sm-rich phase begins to produce on the surface of the Fe *** is difficult to synthesize a Fe-rich TbCu7-type SmFex（x>9） phase with the Sm-Fe binary system,suggesting that a different approach,such as addition of other elements,will be necessary.

Nanocomposite films consisting of carboxymethyl cellulose,polyethylene oxide(CMC/PEO),and anatase titanium diox-ide(TO)were produced by the use of sol-gel and solution casting ***2 nanocrystals were effectively incorporated into CMC/PEO polymers,as shown by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and attenuated total reflectance fourier transform infrared(ATR-FTIR)*** roughness growth is at high levels of TO nanocrystals(TO NCs),which means increasing active sites and defects in CMC/*** differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)thermograms,the change in glass transition temperature(Tg)val-ues verifies that the polymer blend interacts with TO *** increment proportions of TO NCs have a notable impact on the dielectric performances of the nanocomposites,as *** electrical properties of the CMC/PEO/TO nanocomposite undergo significant *** nanocomposite films exhibit a red alteration in the absorption edge as the concentration of TO NCs increases in the polymer *** decline in the energy gap is readily apparent as the weight percentage of TO NCs *** photoluminescence(PL)emission spectra indicate that the sites of the luminescence peak maximums show slight variation;peaks get wider,while their intensities decrease dramatically as the concentration of TO *** nanocomposite materials show potential for multifunctional applications including optoelectronics,antireflection coatings,pho-tocatalysis,light emitting diodes,and solid polymer electrolytes.

Evaluation of soil loss severity and ecological restoration approach for sustainable agriculture in the Hindu Kush, Karakoram and Himalaya region

Soil erosion has resulted in removal of the topsoils containing fine soil particles and plant nutrients, causing decrease in soil fertility in the Hindu Kush, Karakoram and Himalaya(HKH) region. The existing production of cereal crop grains has been reduced to one third of the potential crop grains production owing to land degradation and poor farming practices. It is necessary to assess risk of soil loss and identify appropriate controlling measures to address issues of low agriculture productivity and water insecurity in the region. In the present study, severity of soil loss was predicted using Revised Universal Loss Equation(RUSLE) and ecological measures were identified for sustainable mountain agriculture in the HKH region of Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan. Overall 62.6% area was found to have very low risk of soil loss, i.e., 100 t/(ha·yr) in about 6.8% and 7.4% areas respectively. The mean rate of soil loss was about 41.9 t/(ha·yr) in the Hindu Kush, 31.1 t/(ha·yr) in the Himalayas, 18.8 t/(ha·yr) in the Karakoram and overall 29.7 t/(ha·yr) in the three HKH ranges. As such no considerable measures have been adopted by the communities for restoration of the degraded areas except raising fruit/farm trees and supporting limited social forestry for their livelihoods. The slopes cleared for cultivation and susceptible to erosion may be stabilized through sowing/planting of multi-purpose plant species and formation of proper bench terraces. The conservation of forest ecosystem and pastures at higher elevations would help in reducing overland water flow, risk of flash flood hazard and minimizing sediment loads in the downstream. As one of the most widely distributed and highly conserved transcription factors in eukaryotes,basic leucine zipper proteins(bZIPs)are involved in a variety of biological processes in plants,but they are largely unknown in *** this study,56 bZIP family members were identified genome-wide from an important citrus rootstock,namely trifoliate orange(Poncirus trifoliata ***.),and these putative bZIPs were named PtbZIP1—*** PtbZIPs were classified into 13 subgroups by phylogenetic comparison with Arabidopsis thaliana bZIPs(AtbZIPs),and they were randomly distributed on nine known(50 genes)chromosomes and one unknown(6 genes)*** analysis revealed the detailed characteristics of PtPZIPs,including their amino acid length,isoelectric point(pI),molecular weight(MW),predicted subcellular localization,gene structure,and conserved *** of promoter elements suggested the presence of drought,low-temperature,wound,and defense and stress responsive elements,as well as multiple hormone-responsive cis-acting *** expression analysis showed the transcriptional patterns of PtbZIPs in different tissues and under dehydration,high salt,ABA,and IAA *** addition,21 PtbZIPs were predicted to have direct or indirect protein—protein *** these,PtbZIP49 was experimentally proven to interact with PtbZIP1 or PtbZIP11 by using a yeast two-hybrid assay and bimolecular fluorescence complementation(BiFC).Subcellular localization analysis further revealed that PtbZIP1,PtbZIP11,and PtbZIP49 were localized in the ***,PtbZIP49 was functionally identified as having an important role in salt stress via ectopic expression in *** and silenced in trifoliate orange using virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS).This study provided comprehensive information on PtbZIP transcription factors in citrus and highlights their potential functions in abiotic stress.

Clinical bone-morphogenetic protein 2(BMP2)treatment for bone regeneration,often resulting in complications like soft tissue inflammation and ectopic ossification due to high dosages and non-specific delivery systems,necessitates research into improved biomaterials for better BMP2 stability and *** tackle this challenge,we introduced a groundbreaking bone-targeted,lipoplex-loaded,three-dimensional bioprinted bilayer scaffold,termed the polycaprolactone-bioink-nanoparticle(PBN)scaffold,aimed at boosting bone *** encapsulated BMP2 within the fibroin nanoparticle based lipoplex(Fibroplex)and functionalized it with DSS6 for bone tissue-specific targeting.3D printing technology enables customized,porous PCL scaffolds for bone healing and soft tissue growth,with a two-step bioprinting process creating a cellular lattice structure and a bioink grid using gelatin-alginate hydrogel and DSS6-Fibroplex,shown to support effective nutrient exchange and cell growth at specific pore *** PBN scaffold is predicted through in silico analysis to exhibit biased BMP2 release between bone and soft tissue,a finding validated by in vitro osteogenic differentiation *** PBN scaffold was evaluated for critical calvarial defects,focusing on sustained BMP2 delivery,prevention of soft tissue cell infiltration and controlled fiber membrane pore size in *** PBN scaffold demonstrated a more than eight times longer BMP2 release time than that of the collagen sponge,promoting osteogenic differentiation and bone regeneration in a calvarial defect *** findings suggest that the PBN scaffold enhanced the local concentration of BMP2 in bone defects through sustained release and improved the spatial arrangement of bone formation,thereby reducing the risk of heterotopic ossification.

TiO_(2)nanoparticles doped with different concentrations of Rb were prepared by sol–gel *** crystal structures of samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).It was confirmed by the Rietveld refinement method that the as-prepared samples crystallize in anatase phase and Rb doping induces expansion and distortion of the crystal *** with the pure TiO_(2),the Rb-doped nanoparticles have smaller crystal size and better *** rate of methylene blue was used to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of Rb–TiO_(2).It indicated that doping Rb into TiO_(2)can effectively improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO_(2)and the mechanisms were discussed in *** using the sample doped with 0.20%Rb,methylene blue degraded with the fastest rate(97%within 60 min).
