A 56-day feeding period was performed to investigate the possible impacts of dietary nano curcumin(0,50,100,150,and 200 ppm)on the growth,nutrient utilization,non-specific immune parameters,antioxidants in Nile tilapia under chronic low temperature(21.02±0.11◦C).Fishes(n=225;Initial weight=4.39±0.08 g/fish)were randomly stocked at 15 fish/tank for five experimental groups in *** low-temperature circumstances,dietary curcumin in nano form showed no notable alteration in growth variable,nutrient efficiency,digestive enzymes efficiency,biometric indices,survival rates,and hematological ***,the serum of fishes with nano curcumin diets under low-temperature stress displayed higher total protein as well as lower glucose,cortisol,and total cholesterol compared with the control ***,fish fed nano curcumin diets displayed higher lysozyme and bactericidal activities compared to the control group and the best performance was found at dietary nano curcumin level of≥100 ***,groups fed the basal diet demonstrated the poorest antioxidant capacity,and the best superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GPx)existed in fish with nano curcumin diets while the best catalase(CAT)efficiency occurred at higher nano curcumin levels≥100 *** addition,higher counts of intestinal microbiota in terms of total bacterial count(TBC),total yeast and molds count(TYMC),and coliform were noticed in fish consumed the basal diet compared to groups fed on nano curcumin *** conclusion,incorporating nano curcumin at a level of≥100 mg/kg diet(particularly at 150 mg/kg)improved a non-specific immune response,antioxidant,and healthier gastrointestinal microbiota in Nile tilapia under chronic low-temperature stress.

Onion plants form spherical bulbs under long-day *** regulating bulb formation remain *** the course of chemical studies on the bulb formation,α-linolenic acid was isolated from onion extracts as an antibulbing substance,the amount of which was synchronized with the bulb *** allene oxide synthase inhibitor canceled the antibulbing activity ofα-linolenic acid,it was disclosed that jasmonic acid concerns this ***-activity-relationship study revealed that its(3R,7S)stereochemistry is necessary for showing its antibulbing *** is concluded that(3R,7S)-jasmonate derived fromα-linolenic acid actually participates in the regulation of bulb formation.

Terahertz(THz)spectroscopy is a powerful tool for characterizing electronic properties and vibronic excitations in various types of solids,liquids,and gases,and it has been extensively used not only for basic science but also for industrial ***,it has become necessary to understand electronic and vibronic excitations at the nanometer(nm)scale to realize state-of-the-art quantum nanodevices and the synthesis of new molecules for ***,it is challenging to perform THz spectroscopy at the nm scale because the diffraction limit of electromagnetic waves hinders tight focusing of THz radiation at the nm ***,we introduce a novel technique for THz spectroscopy using metal nanogap *** nanogap electrodes integrated with a THz antenna are employed to capture sensing targets,such as a single semiconductor quantum dot(QD)or *** extremely weak THz absorption can be detected with high sensitivity by measuring the THz-induced photocurrent through the sensing *** advantage of THz-induced photocurrent spectroscopy,the electronic structures in single QDs as well as the vibrational states in single molecules are systematically *** present characterization technology for nm-scale systems provides a key scientific foundation for creating nanodevices with new functions.

This report provides an overall assessment of land fragmentation problems in East Africa. Many parts of East Africa have become highly fragmented, putting development systems and activities in these areas at risk of complete collapse. Land fragmentation occurs when land gets converted for agriculture, industrialization, or urbanization, invaded by non-local plants, or enclosed for individual use and by subdividing farmlands into subsequent smaller units called parcels with varying average farm sizes. Fragmentation results from inappropriate agricultural development processes and ineffective land use planning that fails to recognize how farmland is used, and the importance of its interconnected areas. Insecurity of tenure and resource rights are key factors in making this possible. Land fragmentation is one of the key reasons why the ability of most resources in East Africa becomes scarcer, and those remaining become “privatized” by more powerful community members—keen to maintain their access to them. Such individualistic attitudes are new and disadvantage the poorest even further by affecting the traditional customary safety nets and agricultural outputs. Neither the government nor customary governance systems effectively protect resource access for the poorest. This review summary report identifies the key causes, measures, and implications, government interventions, and the common remedies to land fragmentation problems in the East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania including neighboring Ethiopia, and the Sudan. The findings indicated from 2005 to 2015, the population kept increasing for all the named countries in East Africa with Rwanda and Uganda having a substantial increase in population density. The study review further explores the trend in the performance of agriculture by average farm sizes within the intervals of five years by highlighting their strong linkages and found that the average farm size has declined drastically, especiall

An investigation at Cape Hedo, japan, from 2005 to 2006, focused on the long-range transport of organic aerosol （OA） from the Asian continent. An Aerodyne aerosol mass spectrometer was used to investigate the OA data collected over the study. OA concentrations were low from July to September and peaked during March and April. Based on air mass origins, four OA source regions were identified： northern China, southern China, japan, and Korea. OA concentrations measured at Cape Hedo from the four sources did not exhibit large differences. Conversely, the frequencies of the air masses reaching Cape Hedo from the different regions varied considerably. Northern China was identified as the primary source of organic aerosols at Cape Hedo. Examination of variations in the ratio of m/z 44 to OA concentrations with transport time showed that OAs were partially oxidized during transport

In the face of increasingly serious environmental pollution,the health of human lung tissues is also facing serious *** IIE(M2E)is the main metabolite of sweetening agents mogrosides from the anti-tussive Chinese herbal Siraitia *** study elucidated the anti-inflammatory action and molecular mechanism of M2E against acute lung injury(ALI).A lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced ALI model was established in mice and MH-S cells were employed to explore the protective mechanism of M2E through the western blotting,co-immunoprecipitation,and quantitative real time-PCR *** results indicated that M2E alleviated LPS-induced lung injury through restraining the activation of secreted phospholipase A2 type IIA(Pla2g2a)-epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR).The interaction of Pla2g2a and EGFR was identified by *** addition,M2E protected ALI induced with LPS against inflammatory and damage which were significantly dependent upon the downregulation of AKT and m TOR via the inhibition of ***2g2a may represent a potential target for M2E in the improvement of LPS-induced lung injury,which may represent a promising strategy to treat ALI.

The vacuum electromagnetic induction nitriding technology was applied to prepare a gradient nitrided layer on the surface of a Ti6Al4V alloy,which possesses TiN andα-Ti(N)***,transmission electron microscopy was conducted to confirm the presence of numerous high-density stacking faults caused by TiN and Ti_(2)N phases distributed on the surface of the alloy,along with a large number of basal stacking faults inside.A highdensity stacking fault led to serious distortion of lattice *** and numerous edge dislocations caused by defects were observed in the subsurface *** the surface layer,the Vickers hardness reached HV_(0.25)1211.30and the residual compressive stress increased,while the nano-hardness increased to 14.07 from 5.31 GPa in the *** micrometre scratch test results indicated that the plasticity and hardness of the nitrided layer changed in a *** 50-μm effective hardened layer depth and surface compressive stress of the Ti6Al4V alloy were enhanced by the stacking faults.
