Studies on the POD and IOD Activities of the Dwarfing Stocks and the Red fuji Apple Grafted on Corresponding Interstocks

The seasonal changes of POD and IOD enzyme activities in the leaves of 4 dwarfing stocks and Red fuji apple grafted on 5 interstocks and the POD and IOD activities of different positions of Red fuji Apple on various interstocks were studied. The results showed that the seasonal changes of POD and IOD activities in the leaves of 4 dwarfing stocks were similar to that of the Red fuji Apple. The enzyme activities of stocks were closely correlated with those of the Red fuji Apple grafted in corresponding interstocks and the POD and IOD activities of semi-dwarfing stocks were lower than those of the dwarfing and very-dwarfing stocks. There were many more differences of POD activities in phloem and activities in leaves among different interstocks. There was a significant negative correlation between the POD and IOD activities and the growth potential of the Red fuji Apple grafted on interstocks in the last ten days of both May and September. The best time to use POD and IOD activities to forecast the dwarfing ability of stocks was in the last ten days of both May and September.

This paper summarizes the research results dealing with washer and nut taxonomy and knowledge base design, making the use of fuzzy methodology. In particular, the theory of fuzzy membership functions, similarity matrices, and the operation of fuzzy inference play important roles.A realistic set of 25 washers and nuts are employed to conduct extensive experiments and *** investigation includes a complete demonstration of engineering design. The results obtained from this feasibility study are very encouraging indeed because they represent the lower bound with respect to performance, namely correctrecognition rate, of what fuzzy methodology can do. This lower bound shows high recognition rate even with noisy input patterns, robustness in terms of noise tolerance, and simplicity in hardware implementation. Possible future works are suggested in the conclusion.

Red fuji apple trees of Zn-deficiency were used as material in the experiment. The effect of different Zn application methods on the regularity of Zn transportation and nutrition was studied. It was found that the storage of Zn in the branches was greatly increased by foliar application of the solution of 15% ZnSO4·7H2O before abscission. It had advantage to keep suitable Zn content in leaves, branches and roots, as well as between Zn and P and K, which increased Zn transportation and reusability. Zn content in roots increased when Zn was used in soil in autumn. However, the absorbed Zn did not transport to the top of the plant. It was used by the plant next year. Foliar application of ZnSO4·7H2O at early stage of the plant growth enhanced Zn content of the branch. However, the effect was kept for a short time. It had little effect on Zn transportation when Zn was sprayed three weeks after blossoming.

The red flesh in apple fruit is a desired trait by consumers and it is associated to the anthocyanin content,which is mainly controlled by MdMYB10 with a R6 *** this study,a high-density linkage group was constructed using the‘fuji’x‘Red3’population which contained homozygous alleles R1R1 and R6R6,*** linkage group consists of 7630 SNPs along 17 linkage groups,spanning 2270.21 cM,with an average density of 0.30 cM *** cyanidin-3-galactoside concentration was used as the phenotypic data in QTL ***,one QTL peak which was flaked by two markers,marker2187260 to marker2173766,with LOD scores of 4.49 was *** QTL ranged from 0 to 40.79 cM on the top of linkage group(LG16).In addition one candidate molecular marker(marker2175442)in this QTL was identified,which was significant correlated with the flesh cyanidin-3-galactoside *** genetic findings enrich the breeding basis of fruit flesh coloration in apple.

The experiments including soil application N, thinning and priming leaf treatment, using eight -year-old apple trees (M. domestica *** fuji/ M. hupenensis Rhed) as materials were carried out to study the effect of N on fruit development. The main results were as follows: on heavily thinned trees, SS activity was independent of N and priming leaves treatments. The results show that the carbohydrate restriction of source to sink activity did not exist, and N application did not stimulate fruit growth rates relative to those on nonfertilized trees; however, N fertilization resulted in a longer fruit development period and increased the growth potential of individual fruit by 20.8% (fresh weight) and 14.1% (dry weight) vs. controls ; in unthinned trees, SS activity was increased by N fertilization but decreased by priming leaves treatment , so the carbohydrate restriction of source to sink activity existed, N fertilization increased the average single fruit weight both by extending the fruit development period and by increasing fruit growth rate, and the increasing rates were 28.2% (fresh weight) and 19.4 % (dry weight) compared to the unthinned nonfertilized controls. Fruit soluble sugar and pericarp anthocyanin concentration was decreased by N fertilization.

Correct sales forecasting is inevitable in industries. In industries, how to improve forecasting accuracy such as sales, shipping is an important issue. There are many researches made on this. In this paper, we propose a new method to improve forecasting accuracy and confirm them by the numerical example. Focusing that the equation of ESM (exponential smoothing method) is equivalent to (1,1) order ARMA model equation, a new method of estimation of smoothing constant in exponential smoothing method is proposed before by us which satisfies minimum variance of forecasting error. Generally, smoothing constant is selected arbitrarily. But in this paper, we utilize above stated theoretical solution. Firstly, we make estimation of ARMA model parameter and then estimate smoothing constants. Thus theoretical solution is derived in a simple way and it may be utilized in various fields. Combining the trend removing method with this method, we aim to improve forecasting accuracy. Furthermore, "a day of the week index" is newly introduced for the daily data and the forecasting is executed to the manufacturer"s data of sanitary materials. We have obtained good result. The effectiveness of this method should be examined in various cases.

We Watch: An Application for Watching Video Across Two Mobile Devices

In recent years, high-resolution video has developed rapidly and widescreen smart devices have become popular. We present an Android application called WeWatch that enables high-resolution video to be shared across two mobile devices when they are close to each other. This concept has its inspiration in machine-to-machine connections in the Internet of Things （loT）. We ensure that the two parts of the video are the same size over both screens and are synchronous. Further, a user can play, pause, or stop the video by moving one device a certain distance from the other. We decide on appropriate distances through experimentation. We implemented WeWatch on Android operating system and then optimize Watch so battery consumption is reduced. The user experience provided by WeWatch was evaluated by students through a questionnaire, and the reviews indicated that WeWatch does improve the viewing experience.

High-entropy alloys and ceramics containing at least five principal elements have recently received high attention for various mechanical and functional *** application of severe plastic deformation(SPD),particularly the high-pressure torsion method,combined with the CALPHAD(calculation of phase diagram) and first-principles calculations resulted in the development of numerous superfunctional high-entropy materials with superior properties compared to the normal functions of engineering *** article reviews the recent advances in the application of SPD to developing superfunctional high-entropy *** superfunctional properties include(ⅰ) ultrahigh hardness levels comparable to the hardness of ceramics in high-entropy alloys,(ⅱ) high yield strength and good hydrogen embrittlement resistance in high-entropy alloys;(ⅲ) high strength,low elastic modulus,and high biocompatibility in high-entropy alloys,(ⅳ) fast and reversible hydrogen storage in high-entropy hydrides,(ⅴ) photovoltaic performance and photocurrent generation on high-entropy semiconductors,(ⅵ) photocatalytic oxygen and hydrogen production from water splitting on high-entropy oxides and oxynitrides,and(ⅶ)CO_(2) photoreduction on high-entropy *** findings introduce SPD as not only a processing tool to improve the properties of existing high-entropy materials but also as a synthesis tool to produce novel high-entropy materials with superior properties compared with conventional engineering materials.
