Mini turbo-pumps having a diameter smaller than 100mm are employed in many fields;automobile radiator pump,ventricular assist pump,cooling pump for electric devices,washing machine pump and so ***,the needs for mini turbo-pumps would become larger with the increase of the application of it for electrical *** is desirable that the mini turbo-pump design is as simple as possible due to restriction to make precise *** the design method for the mini turbo-pump is not established because the internal flow condition for these small-sized fluid machineries is not clarified and conventional theory is not conductive for small-sized *** types of rotors with different outlet angles are prepared for an experiment and a numerical *** performance tests are conducted with these rotors in order to investigate the effect of the blade outlet angle on performance and internal flow condition of mini *** is clarified from the experimental results that head of the mini turbo-pump increases and maximum efficiency flow rate shifts to larger flow rate according to the increase of the blade outlet angle,however the maximum efficiency decreases with the increase of *** the present paper,the performance of the mini turbo-pump is shown and the internal flow conditions are clarified with the results of the experiment and the numerical flow ***,the effects of the blade outlet angle on the performance are investigated and high performance design with simple structure for the mini turbo-pump would be considered.

Performance improvement was attained in data reconstructions of 2-dimensional tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy(TDLAS). Multiplicative Algebraic Reconstruction Technique(MART) algorithm was adopted for data reconstruction. The data obtained in an experiment for the measurement of temperature and concentration fields of gas flows were used. The measurement theory is based upon the Beer-Lambert law, and the measurement system consists of a tunable laser, collimators, detectors, and an analyzer. Methane was used as a fuel for combustion with air in the Bunsen-type burner. The data used for the reconstruction are from the optical signals of 8-laser beams passed on a cross-section of the methane flame. The performances of MART algorithm in data reconstruction were validated and compared with those obtained by Algebraic Reconstruction Technique(ART) algorithm.

Diel investigations of water environments are one means to holistically understand the dynamics and functional roles of phytoplankton,bacteria and viruses in these *** have the potential to substantially impact carbon(C),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)biogeochemistry through their respective *** study characterizes the phytoplankton,bacteria and virus communities and the elemental composition of various C,N and P nutrients flow over three diel cycles in tropical urban *** results show that ratios of C:N:P fluctuated strongly from the lack of dissolved organic phosphorus(DOP)and PO_(4).Specifically,green algae peaked during day time and exudate dissolved organic matter(DOM)that strongly modulate dissolved organic carbon(DOC):DOP ratio to diel DOP *** linear regression and Stella modelling emphasize the roles of viruses together with Synechococcus as important nutrient recyclers of NH_(4)and PO_(4)in nutrients-limited *** normalised surface PO_(4)and combined surface and bottom NH_(4)concentration selected both viruses and Synechococcus as important *** model of N and P biogeochemical cycles can achieve 69%and 57%similar to observed concentration of NH_(4)and PO_(4),respectively.A short latent period of 9 hr was calculated,in addition to the calibrated high infectivity of viruses to *** together,the rapid turn-over between Synechococcus and viruses has biogeochemical significance,where the rapid recycling of essential nutrients allows for shortcuts in the N and P cycle,supporting a wide range of microbes.

AIM:To assess visual outcomes and satisfaction of a non-diffractive extended depth of focus(EDOF)intraocular lens(IOL)in individuals with ocular hypertension(OHT)and well-controlled mild glaucoma undergoing cataract ***:An investigator-initiated,single-center,prospective,interventional,noncomparative study conducted in Montreal,*** study enrolled 31 patients(55 eyes)with OHT or mild glaucoma who received a non-diffractive EDOF IOL(Acrysof IQ Vivity).Participants underwent sequential cataract surgery with the Vivity ***-up evaluations occurred at 1d,1,and 3mo postoperatively,assessing uncorrected distance,intermediate,and near visual ***(QUVID:Questionnaire for visual disturbances and IOLSAT:Intraocular lens satisfaction)were administered pre and post-operatively to measure visual disturbances and spectacle independence in various *** parameters included intraocular pressure(IOP),glaucoma medications,spherical equivalence,mean deviation and pattern standard deviation or square root of lost variance on Octopus visual ***:At 1 and 3mo postoperatively,significant improvements were observed in uncorrected distance and intermediate visual *** independence was enhanced for distance and intermediate vision,especially in bright light ***-free intermediate vision was improved even in dim *** disturbances,particularly glare symptoms,were reduced,and there was a notable decrease in IOP and glaucoma medication burden at *** was more hazy vision postoperatively with no impact on visual acuity and visual ***:The non-diffractive EDOF lens improves distance and intermediate spectacle-free visual function in patients with OHT and well-controlled *** findings highlight significant improvements in visual acuity,reduced glare,enhanced spectacle independence,and improved visual performance in different lighting conditions.

This study examines the potential impacts o climate change on Lake Biwa,Japan’s largest freshwate lake,with a focus on temperature,wind speed,and pre cipitation *** data from the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report,including CCP scenarios,projecting a significant temperature rise of 3.3–5.7℃in the case o very high GHG emission power,the research investigates how these shifts may influence dissolved oxygen levels in Lake *** a one-dimensional model incorporat ing sediment redox reactions,various scenarios where ai temperature and wind speed are changed are simulated.I is revealed that a 5℃increase in air temperature leads to decreasing 1-2 mg/L of dissolved oxygen concentrations from the surface layer to the bottom layer,while a decrease in air temperature tends to elevate 1–3 mg/L of oxygen lev ***,doubling wind speed enhances surface laye oxygen but diminishes it in deeper layers due to increased *** variations in wind effects are noted with significant surface layer oxygen increases from 0.4to 0.8 mg/L during summer to autumn,increases from 0.4 to 0.8 mg/L in autumn to winter due to intensified vertica *** phenomenon impacts the lake’s oxygen cycle *** contrast,precipitation changes show limited impact on oxygen levels,suggesting minor influence com pared to other meteorological *** study suggests the necessity of comprehensive three-dimensional models that account for lake-specific and geographical factors fo accurate predictions of future water conditions.A holistic approach integrating nutrient levels,water temperature,and river inflow is deemed essential for sustainable management of Lake Biwa’s water resources,particularly in addressing precipitation variations.

Invasive species are increasingly spreading,particularly in rangeland *** is essential to evaluate the effectiveness of different methods for controlling invasive plants in these *** study aimed to investigate the effects of three strategies-21-year grazing exclusion(21-YES),mowing-grazing in rotation in alternate years(MGRS),and moderate grazing(MGS)-on the change in cover,density,and biomass of Leucanthemum vulgare Lam.(Ox-eye Daisy=OED)and the plant *** accomplish this,three sites selected for each *** 2021,270 vegetation plots were sampled using a random systematic ***,we recorded the density and canopy cover of all growth forms(forbs,grasses,and ferns),the OED biomass,and the ground *** results indicated that MGS reduced OED density,OED canopy,and OED ***,this strategy demonstrated the highest density and canopy cover of the plant community(including total,forbs,grasses,and ferns).Additionally,the strongest correlation was observed between the total canopy and the OED density(R2=-0.91,-0.95,-0.94 in 21-YES,MGRS,and MGS,respectively),as well as between the total canopy and the OED canopy(R2=-0.51,-0.98,-0.97 in 21-YES,MGRS,and MGS,respectively).The MGS led to an increase in diversity *** general,the grazing strategy has proven to be effective in controlling the spread of invasive OED and has also resulted in an increase in canopy cover,density,and diversity indices of the plant *** study highlights the importance of ongoing management efforts to control invasive species,with moderate grazing potentially serving as a more practical,culturally accepted,and costeffective short-term control strategy for widespread rangeland weed infestations.
