AIM:To explore the prognostic factors for lacrimal gland adenoid cystic carcinoma(LGACC)in chinese ***:Clinical and histopathological data were reviewed in patients with pathologically confirmed *** recurrence,metastasis,and disease-specific death were the main outcome *** and multivariate analyses were performed by the Kaplan-Meier method and a Cox proportional hazard ***:This retrospective cohort study included 45 patients with pathologically confirmed LGACC between January 2008 and June ***(T)classification(P=0.005),nodal metastasis(N)classification(P=0.018)and positive margin(P=0.008)were independent risk factors of recurrence;T(P=0.013)and N(P=0.003)classification and the basaloid tumor type(P=0.032)were independent risk factors for metastasis;T classification(P<0.001)was an independent factor of death of *** the further analysis,the durations from first surgery to radiotherapy is correlated with metastatic risk in LGACC patients with basaloid component(P=0.022).CONCLUSION:Histological subtype should be emphasized when evaluating prognosis and guiding *** radiotherapy may reduce the risk of metastasis in patients with basaloid component.

Background:Following the short-term outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in December 2022 in China,clinical data on kidney transplant recipients(KTRs)with COVID-19 are ***:We conducted a single-center retrospective study to describe the clinical features,complications,and mortality rates of hospitalized KTRs infected with COVID-19 between Dec.16,2022 and Jan.31,*** patients were followed up until Mar.31,***:A total of 324 KTRs with COVID-19 were *** median age was 49 *** median time between the onset of symptoms and admission was 13 ***,azvudine,and nirmatrelvir/ritonavir were administered to 67(20.7%),11(3.4%),and 148(45.7%)patients,***-nine(9.0%)patients were treated with more than one antiviral ***-eight(14.8%)patients were treated with tocilizumab and 53(16.4%)patients received baricitinib *** acute kidney injury(AKI)occurred in 81(25.0%)patients and 39(12.0%)patients were admitted to intensive care *** infections were observed in 55(17.0%)***(15.4%)patients lost their *** 28-d mortality rate of patients was 9.0%and 42(13.0%)patients died by the end of *** Cox regression analysis identified that cerebrovascular disease,AKI incidence,interleukin(IL)-6 level of>6.8 pg/mL,daily dose of corticosteroids of>50 mg,and fungal infection were all associated with an increased risk of death for hospitalized ***:Our findings demonstrate that hospitalized KTRs with COVID-19 are at high risk of *** administration of immunomodulators or the late application of antiviral drugs does not improve patient survival,while higher doses of corticosteroids may increase the death risk.

Lianhua Qingke tablets, a patented traditional chinese medicine that has validated clinical efficacy for treating cough caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection, lack rigorous evidence-based research evaluating their effect on long coronavirus disease(COVID) cough. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical study was conducted among patients with long COVID cough from 19 hospitals and 23 community health centers in China. Patients were randomized 1:1 to receive either Lianhua Qingke tablets or placebo orally for 14 days(four tablets, 1.84 g, three times a day). The primary endpoint indicator was the disappearance of cough, with the remission of cough also considered. Among 482 randomized patients, 480(full analysis set 480; per-protocol set 470; safety set 480) were included in the primary analysis. According to the full analysis, the time until cough disappearance was significantly shorter in the trial group than in the control group, with a significant increase in the 14-day cough disappearance rate. Accordingly, the time to cough remission was significantly shorter in the trial group than in the control group. The change in the total symptom score was significantly greater in the trial group than in the control group on days 7 and 14, consistent with the results indicated by the visual analog scale(VAS) and cough evaluation test(CET) scores. No serious adverse events were recorded during the study. Lianhua Qingke tablets significantly improved the clinical symptoms of patients with long COVID cough.

High-content screening(HCS)technology combines automated high-speed imaging hardware and single-cell quantitative *** can greatly accelerate data acquisition in cellular fluorescence imaging and is a powerful research technique in traditional chinese medicine(TCM).An increasing number of laboratories and platforms,including TCM laboratories,have begun utilizing HCS ***,this technology is still in its infancy in TCM research and there is a lack of sufficient experience with the associated concepts,instrument configurations,and analysis *** improve the understanding of HCS among researchers in the field of TCM,this paper summarizes the concept of HCS,software and hardware configuration,the overall research process,as well as common problems and related solutions of HCS in TCM research based on our team’s previous research experience,providing several research examples and an outlook on future perspectives,aiming to provide a technical guide for HCS in TCM research.

[Objectives]Some chinese medicinal materials of Jianjin Zhuanggu Paste were microscopically identified,and several active ingredients were studied by thin-layer identification,which provides reference for further improving the quality standards of hospital preparations.[Methods]The effective components of Jianjin Zhuanggu Paste were qualitatively identified by thin-layer chromatography(TLC).[Results]The microscopic identification of the three chinese medicinal materials in Jianjin Zhuanggu Paste showed the microscopic characteristics of Radix Codonopsis,Radix Astragali and Radix *** identification showed that there were characteristic spots of Radix Codonopsis,Radix Astragali,Radix Rehmanniae Preparata and Radix Notoginseng in Jianjin Zhuanggu Paste.[Conclusions]This study established the quality standard research method of Jianjin Zhuanggu Paste,which further strengthens the safety standards of hospital preparations,and improves the clinical efficacy of drugs,as well as the quality standards of hospital preparations to a certain extent.
