Chinese medicated bath is one of the external therapies in Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), which has been widely used clinically. The “International Standard of Traditional Chinese medicine Techniques: The Operating Specifications for Chinese Medicated Bath” is drawn up by the Beijing university of Chinese medicine third Affiliated Hospital and Beijing university of Chinese medicine Xiamen Hospital in collaboration with domestic TCM universities and hospitals. The specification includes definition, operating process, points for attention and contraindications. It is targeted to provide reference for TCM providers at home and abroad with TCM background in clinical decision-making.

In this editorial,we comment on the article entitled“Advances and key focus areas in gastric cancer immunotherapy:A comprehensive scientometric and clinical trial review(1999-2023),”which was published in the recent issue of the World Journal of *** focused on the results of the authors’bibliometric analysis concerning gastric cancer immunotherapy,which they analyzed in depth by compiling the relevant publications of the last 20 *** that,we briefly describe the most recent data concerning the epidemiological parameters of gastric cancer(GC)in different countries,attempting to give an interpretation based on the etiological factors involved in the etiopathogenesis of the *** then briefly discuss the conservative treatment(chemotherapy)of the various forms of this malignant *** describe the treatment of resectable tumors,locally advanced neoplasms,and unresectable(advanced)*** attention is given to modern therapeutic approaches with emphasis on immunotherapy,which seems to be the future of GC treatment,especially in combination with *** is also a thorough analysis of the results of the study under review in terms of the number of scientific publications,the countries in which the studies were conducted,the authors,and the scientific centers of origin,as well as the clinical studies in ***,an attempt is made to draw some conclusions and to point out possible future directions.

Spinal cord injury is a condition in which the parenchyma of the spinal cord is damaged by trauma or various *** rapid progress has been made in regenerative medicine for spinal cord injury that was previously untreatable,most research in this field has focused on the early phase of incomplete ***,the majority of patients have chronic severe injuries;therefore,treatments for these situations are of fundamental *** reason why the treatment of complete spinal cord injury has not been studied is that,unlike in the early stage of incomplete spinal cord injury,there are various inhibitors of neural ***,we assumed that it is difficult to address all conditions with a single treatment in chronic complete spinal cord injury and that a combination of several treatments is essential to target severe ***,we established a combination therapy of cell transplantation and drug-releasing scaffolds,which contributes to functional recovery after chronic complete transection spinal cord injury,but we found that functional recovery was limited and still needs further ***,for the further development of the treatment of chronic complete spinal cord injury,we review the necessary approaches to the different pathologies based on our findings and the many studies that have been accumulated to date and discuss,with reference to the literature,which combination of treatments is most effective in achieving functional recovery.

The Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic increased the burden of critically ill patients who required hospitalization in the intensive care unit(ICU).Bacterial and fungal co-infections,including bloodstream infections(BSIs),increased significantly in ICU patients with COVID-19;this had a significant negative impact on patient *** data pertaining to BSI episodes from the ICU setting during the COVID-19 pandemic were collected and analyzed for this narrative *** searched the PubMed database for articles published between March 2020 and October 2023;the terms“COVID-19”AND“bloodstream infections”AND“ICU”were used for the search.A total of 778 articles were retrieved;however,only 27 were exclusively related to BSIs in ICU patients with *** pertaining to the epidemiological characteristics,risk factors,characteristics of bacterial and fungal BSIs,patterns of antimicrobial resistance,and comparisons between ICU and non-ICU patients during and before the COVID-19 pandemic were *** on antimicrobial stewardship and infection-control policies were also *** rates of BSI were found to have increased among ICU patients with COVID-19 than in non-COVID-19 patients and those admitted during the pre-pandemic *** gender,60–70 years of age,increased body mass index,high Sequential Organ Failure Assessment scores at admission,prolonged hospital and ICU stay,use of central lines,invasive ventilation,and receipt of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation were all defined as risk factors for *** use of immune modulators for COVID-19 appeared to increase the risk of BSI;however,the available data are ***,Enterococci,Acinetobacter baumannii,and Candida *** as prominent infecting organisms during the pandemic;along with Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa they had a significant impact on ***-resistant organisms prevailed in the ICU,especially if antimicrobial resistance was establish

Scraping therapy for knee osteoarthritis: a systematic review and Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate the efficacy of scraping therapy on knee osteoarthritis(KOA). METHODS: A computerized search was conducted in several databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database,Wanfang, and Chinese BioMedical Literature Database,from the establishment date of these databases to April 9,2023. Randomized controlled trials(RCTs) on scraping therapy for KOA were collected in accordance with the “Participants-Intervention-Control-Outcome-Study design”criteria. The methodological evaluation of the included studies was carried out using RoB 2.0, and Meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan. The Grades of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation(GRADE System) was applied to grade the quality of evidence. RESULTS: A total of 12 RCTs with 997 subjects were included in the Meta-analysis. Results indicated that compared with the control group, the scraping therapy treatment group exhibited increased Lysholm scores [mean difference(MD) = 4.96, 95% confidence intervals(CI)(3.18, 6.74), P surgery scores [MD = 8.35, 95% CI(3.92, 12.78), P = 0.0002] and decreased visual analog scale scores [MD =-2.11, 95% CI(-3.79,-0.44), P = 0.01] and Western Ontario and McM aster university Osteoarthritis Index scores [MD =-6.77, 95% CI(-8.99,-4.56), P < 0.000 01)]. The quality of evidence obtained in this Meta-analysis was low according to the GRADE system. CONCLUSION: The available evidence suggests that scraping therapy may have certain clinical efficacy in the treatment of KOA. However, further high-quality RCTs are needed to confirm the findings.
