Biomechanical evaluation of two fusion techniques based on finite element analysis:Percutaneous endoscopic and minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion

As a novel minimally invasive technique,percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(PETLIF)has been widely used in the treatment of lumbar degenerative *** purpose of this study was to analyze these two operation types’biomechanical performances of PE-TLIF and traditional minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(MIS-TLIF)using the finite element(FE)*** intact FE models of L4-L5 were established and validated based on the CT *** this basis,the FE models of MIS-TLIF and PETLIF were established and *** is demonstrated that for lumbar interbody fusion with the oblique asymmetrically implanted cage under bilateral pedicle screws and rods fixation,such as MIS-TLIF and PE-TLIF,different degrees of articular process resection have no significant effect on the cage subsidence,and the surgical segment can achieve similar *** addition,the maximum stress of the L4 inferior endplate of MIS-TLIF and PE-TLIF is greater than that of the L5 superior endplate,which indicates that MIS-TLIF and PE-TLIF can cause cage subsidence in the L4 inferior endplate.

The norepinephrine transporter plays an important role in the pathophysiology and pharmacological treatment of major depressive disorder. Consequently, the norepinephrine transporter gene is an attractive candidate in major depressive disorder research. In the present study, we evaluated the depression symptoms of subjects with major depressive disorder, who were all from the North of China and of Hart Chinese origin, using the Hamilton Depression Scale. We examined the relationship between two single nucleotide polymorphisms in the norepinephrine transporter, rs2242446 and rs5569, and the retardation symptoms of major depressive disorder using quantitative trait testing with the UNPHASED program, rs5569 was associated with depressed mood, and the GG genotype may be a risk factor for this; rs2242446 was associated with work and interest, and the TT genotype may be a risk factor for loss of interest. Our findings suggest that rs2242446 and rs5569 in the norepinephrine transporter gene are associated with the retardation symptoms of depression in the Hart Chinese population.

Metazoans harbor a wealth of symbionts that are ever-changing the environment by taking up resources and/or excreting *** such common environmental modification is a change in *** wisdom holds that symbionts facilitate the survival and production of their hosts in the wild,but this notion lacks empirical ***,we report that symbiotic bacteria in the genus Enterococcus attenuate the oviposition avoidance of alkaline environments in *** studied the effects of alkalinity on oviposition preference for the first time,and found that flies are robustly disinclined to oviposit on alkali-containing *** innate repulsion to alkaline environments is explained,in part,by the fact that alkalinity compromises the health and lifespan of both offspring and parent *** dramatically diminished or even completely reversed the ovipositional avoidance of alkalinity in ***,Enterococcus generate abundant lactate during fermentation,which neutralizes the residual alkali in an egg-laying *** conclusion,Enterococcus protects Drosophila from alkali stress by acidifying the ovipositional substrate,and ultimately improves the fitness of the Drosophila *** results demonstrate that symbionts are profound factors in the Drosophila ovipositional decision,and extend our understanding of the intimate interactions between Drosophila and their symbionts.

Event-related potential studies of cognitive function in addiction behaviors have focused on the P300 event-related potential component. The current study investigated the association between P300 component and Internet addiction disorder. We found that individuals with Internet addiction disorder exhibited significantly longer P300 latencies than controls （N2： P = 0.035; P3a： P = 0.031 P3b： P = 0.043） and similar P300 amplitudes compared to control participants. After 3 months of cognitive behavioral therapy, P300 latencies decreased significantly in the P3a and P3b （P3a： P = 0.045; P3b： P = 0.062）. These results suggest that deficits in cognitive function may be involved in Internet addiction disorder, and that clinical psychological treatment may be effective.

Current evidence suggests a central role for autophagy in many inflammatory brain disorders, including Alzheimer＇s disease （AD）. Furthermore, it is also well accepted that some inhalation anesthetics, such as isoflurane, may cause AD- like neuropathogenesis and resultant postoperative cognitive dysfunction, especially in the elderly population. However, the impact of inhalation anesthetics on autophagic components in the brain remains to be documented. Hence, our objective was to investigate the effects of different durations of isoflurane exposure on hippocampus-dependent learning and hippocarnpal autophagy in aged rats. Aged Sprague-Dawley rats （20 months old） were randomly exposed to 1.5% isoflurane or 100% oxygen for 1 or 4 h. Animals were then trained in the Morris water maze （4 trials/day for 5 consecutive days）. Hippocampal phagophore formation markers, beclin 1 and protein microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain-3B （LC3B）, as well as p62, an indicator of autophagic flux, were quantified by western blotting. There was no significant difference in the escape latencies and time spent in the target quadrant, as well as hippocampal expression of beclin 1, LC3B- II, and p62 at 24 h post-anesthesia between the 1-h isoflurane-exposed rats and their controls （P 〉0.05）. Four-hour exposure to isoflurane resulted in spatial learning and memory deficits, as evidenced by prolonged escape latencies on days 4 and 5 post- anesthesia and less time spent in the target quadrant than sham-exposed animals （P 〈0.05）. These events were accompanied by a decline in hippocampal expression of LC3B-I, LC3B-II, and beclin 1 24 h after isoflurane （P 〈0.01 and P 〈0.05）. Nevertheless, no significant change in p62 expression was found. Further kinetics study of autophagic changes induced by 4 h of isoflurane showed a transient upregulation of LC3B-I, LC3B-II, and beclin 1 at the end of exposure and a subsequent striking decrease within 12-24 h post-anesthesia （P 〈0.05）. Metabolic syndrome(Met S)is a chronic disease associated with the disturbance of gut microbiota *** derived from gut microbes play essential roles in Met S prevention and ***,we focused on the inhibitory effect of the extract of millet bran protein(EMBP)on a high-fat diet(HFD)-induced Met S,aiming to identify gut microbiota and their metabolites that involve in the anti-Met S activity of *** obesity,chronic inflammation,insulin resistance in Met S mouse models were abolished after EMBP *** protective mechanism of EMBP against HFD-induced Met S may depend on improved gut barrier *** microbiome analysis,we found that EMBP supplementation improved gut microbiome dysbiosis in Met S mice,specifically upregulating Bacteroides *** fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)also demonstrated this *** addition,metabolomic analysis showed that EMBP mediates metabolic profiling reprogramming in Met S ***,a microbiota-derived metabolite,gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),is enriched by *** addition,exogenous GABA treatment produced a similar protective effect to EMBP by improving NRF2-dependent gut barrier function to protect HFDinduced Met *** results suggest that EMBP suppress host Met S by remodeling of gut microbiota as an effective candidate for next-generation medicine food dual purpose dietary supplement to intervene in MetS.

Objective： To investigate the effect of Celecoxib on proliferation and apoptosis of the endometrial carcinoma cell HEC-1B and the effect on the expression of Fas and Survivin mRNA. Methods： The inhibition on the growth of human endometrial carcinoma cell HEC-1B was investigated by cell culture and MTT experiment when treated with different concentrations of Celecoxib. The cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry and DNA Ladder Electrophoresis. The change of the expression of Fas and Survivin mRNA after the treatment of Celecoxib was detected With RT-PCR. Results： Celecoxib could effectively inhibit the growth of HEC-1B cells and induce apoptosis. Survivin mRNA expression was decreased and Fas mRNA expression was increased after treating with Celecoxib. Conclusion： Celecoxib could inhibit HEC-1B cell proliferation and induce its apoptosis.
