Isothermal P-x data for homogeneous, and P-x’-x" data for partially miscible mixtures for the ternary system methanol-methyl methacrylate-water have been determined at 25, 35, 45, 55 and 60℃. By using a modified UNIQUAC model and binary parameters only, the predicted ternary phase equilibrium data were found to be in good agreement with the experimental results, indicating the adequacy of using binary model parameters in computing vapor-liquid and liquid-liquid-vapor equilibria covering pressures ranging from reduced to atmospheric.

A remarkable marine heatwave,known as the“Blob”,occurred in the Northeast Pacific Ocean from late 2013 to early 2016,which displayed strong warm anomalies extending from the surface to a depth of 300 *** study employed two assimilation schemes based on the global Climate Forecast System of Nanjing University of Information Science(NUIST-CFS 1.0)to investigate the impact of ocean data assimilation on the seasonal prediction of this extreme marine *** sea surface temperature(SST)nudging scheme assimilates SST only,while the deterministic ensemble Kalman filter(EnKF)scheme assimilates observations from the surface to the deep *** latter notably improves the forecasting skill for subsurface temperature anomalies,especially at the depth of 100-300 m(the lower layer),outperforming the SST nudging *** excels in predicting both horizontal and vertical heat transport in the lower layer,contributing to improved forecasts of the lower-layer warming during the *** improvements stem from the assimilation of subsurface observational data,which are important in predicting the upper-ocean *** results suggest that assimilating ocean data with the EnKF scheme significantly enhances the accuracy in predicting subsurface temperature anomalies during the Blob and offers better understanding of its underlying mechanisms.

Psychological and social aspects of infertility in men： an overview of the evidence and implications for psychologically informed clinical care and future research

research concerning the psychosocial aspects of infertility and infertility treatment focuses more often on women than men. The aim of this review was to synthesize the English-language evidence related to the psychological and social aspects of infertility in men and discuss the implications of these reports for clinical care and future research. A structured search identified 73 studies that reported data concerning the desire for fatherhood and the psychological and social aspects of diagnosis, assisted reproductive technology （ART） treatment and unsuccessful treatment among men with fertility difficulties. The studies are diverse in conceptualisation, design, setting and data collection, but the findings were reasonably consistent. These studies indicated that fertile and infertile childless men of reproductive age have desires to experience parenthood that are similar to those of their female counterparts; in addition, diagnosis and initiation of treatment are associated with elevated infertility-specific anxiety, and unsuccessful treatment can lead to a state of lasting sadness. However, rates of clinically significant mental health problems among this patient population are no higher than in the general population. Infertile men who are socially isolated, have an avoidant coping style and appraise stressful events as overwhelming, are more vulnerable to severe anxiety than men without these characteristics. Men prefer oral to written treatment information and prefer to receive emotional support from infertility clinicians rather than from mental health professionals, self-help support groups or friends. Nevertheless, structured, facilitated psycho-educational groups that are didactic but permit informal sharing of experiences might be beneficial. Unrestrained molecular dynamics （MD） simulations have been carded out to characterize the stability of DNA conformations and the dynamics of A-DNA^B-DNA conformational transitions in aqueous RbC1 solutions. The PARM99 force field in the AMBER8 package was used to investigate the effect of RbC1 concentration on the dynamics of the A^B conformational tran- sition in the DNA duplex d（CGCGAATTCGCG）2. Canonical A- and B-form DNA were assumed for the initial conformation and the final conformation had a length per complete turn that matched the canonical B-DNA. The DNA structure was moni- tored for 3.0 ns and the distances between the C5＇ atoms were obtained from the simulations. It was found that all of the double stranded DNA strands of A-DNA converged to the structure of B-form DNA within 1.0 ns during the unrestrained MD simula- tions. In addition, increasing the RbC1 concentration in aqueous solution hindered the A^B conformational transition and the transition in aqueous RbC1 solution was faster than that in aqueous NaC1 solution for the same electrolyte strength. The effects of the types and concentrations of counterions on the dynamics of the A^B conformational transition can be understood in terms of the variation in water activity and the number of accumulated counterions in the major grooves of A-DNA. The ru- bidium ion distributions around both fixed A-DNA and B-DNA were obtained using the restrained MD simulations to help ex- plain the effect of RbC1 concentration on the dynamics of the A^B conformational transition.

A response surface modeling approach for simultaneous optimization of optical purity and yield was applied to the resolution of tartaric acid to study the effects of both the amount of the solvent and the amount of the resolving agent a-methylbenzyl amine on the resolution results. The direction of changing the experimental conditions was determined from the initial response study, and expected high yield of the pure L(+)-tartaric acid-L(-)-a-methylbenzyl amine salt was obtained.

AIM： To determine the relative potency and contribution of intestinal nutrients to net gastric accommodative relaxation and conscious perception. METHODS： In 12 healthy subjects, we randomly tested duodenal loads of lipids and carbohydrates （12 mL administered in 4 rain） at various caloric concentrations （0.0125-0.8 kcal/mL） separated by 12-24 rain wash-out periods of saline infusion. Maximal gastric relaxation was induced at the end of each experiment by i.v glucagon （5 μg/kg）, as reference. The reflex gastric response was measured by a barostat, and symptom perception by a 0-6 score questionnaire. RESULTS： Upids induced a dose-response gastric relaxation with a steep and early rise. Maximal effect （179±42 mL relaxation） reached at a relatively low concentration （0.2 kcal/mL）, maximal lipid-induced relaxation was 61±6% of the glucagon effect. By contrast, duodenal infusion of carbohydrates induced weaker relaxation that became significant only at the high end of the physiological concentration range （65±14 ml with 0.8 kcal/mL）. Intestinal nutrient loads, either of lipid or carbohydrates, did not induce significant changes in perception （0.6±0.4 and 0.1±0.4 score increase for the highest concentrations, respectively）. CONCLUSION： Chyme entering the small bowel induces nutrient-spedfic gastric relaxatory reflexes by a physiologically saturable mechanism. Normally, neither the intestinal nutrient load nor the gastric accommodative response is perceived.
