Different responses of two adjacent artificial beaches to Typhoon Hato in Zhuhai,China

Major differences in beach erosion between two neighboring artificial beaches Xiangluwan Beach(XL beach)and Meiliwan Beach(ML beach)in Zhuhai,China,were studied after Super Typhoon *** this study,a fully nonlinear Boussinesq wave model(FUNWAVE)-Total Variation Diminishing(TVD)was used to distinguish the main impact factors,their relative contributions,and the hydrodynamic mechanisms underlying the different beach *** show that compared to the ML beach,the main reason for the relatively weak erosion on Xiangluwan(XL)beach was the smaller beach berm height(accounting for approximately 75.9%of the erosion response).Regarding the beach with a higher berm,the stronger wave-induced undertow flow,along with the higher sediment concentration,led to a higher offshore sediment transport flux,resulting in more severe erosion relative to the beach with a smaller berm *** second most important reason explaining the weak erosion on XL beach was the absence of seawalls(accounting for approximately 17.9%of the erosion response).Wave reflection induced by the seawall could cause higher suspended sediment concentration,resulting in a toe scouring near the *** offshore submerged breakwater protected XL beach slightly(accounting for approximately 6.1%of the erosion response).Due to the higher water level induced by storm surge,most of the wave energy could penetrate through the submerged *** effect of the larger berm width of XL beach was *** to the beach with a larger berm width,the erosion/deposition regions in the beach with a narrower berm width showed shoreward migration,without significant changes in the erosion/deposition *** of this,the larger berm width could reduce the wave energy reaching the *** study of the storm stability of artificial beaches may be applied to beach restoration design.

Targeting LTA4H facilitates the reshaping of the immune microenvironment mediated by CCL5 and sensitizes ovarian cancer to Cisplatin

Ovarian cancer is the most lethal and aggressive gynecological cancer with a high recurrence rate and is often diagnosed *** ovarian cancer,multiple metabolic enzymes of lipid metabolism are abnormally expressed,resulting in metabolism *** a characteristic pathway in polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA)metabolism,arachidonic acid(AA)metabolism is disturbed in ovarian ***,we established a 10-gene signature model to evaluate the prognostic risk of PUFA-related *** 10-gene signature has strong robustness and can play a stable predictive role in datasets of various platforms(TCGA,ICGC,and GSE17260).The high association between the risk subgroups and clinical characteristics indicated a good performance of the *** data further indicated that the high expression of LTA4H was positively correlated with poor prognosis in ovarian *** of LTA4H enhanced sensitivity to Cisplatin and modified the characteristics of immune cell infiltration in ovarian ***,our results indicate that CCL5 was involved in the aberrant metabolism of the AA/LTA4H axis,which contributes to the reduction of tumor-infiltrating CD8+T cells and immune escape in ovarian *** findings provide new insights into the prognosis and potential target of LTA4H/CCL5 in treating ovarian cancer.

Comprehensive Risk Assessment of Sea Level Rise and Tropical Cyclones in Dongzhaigang Mangroves,China

Mangroves play a pivotal role in tropical and subtropical coastal ecosystem,yet they are highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change,particularly the accelerated global sea level rise(SLR)and stronger tropical cyclones(TCs).However,there is a lack of research addressing future simultaneous combined impacts of the slow-onset of SLR and rapid-onset of TCs on China's *** order to develop a comprehensive risk assessment method considering the superimposed effects of these two factors and analyze risk for mangroves in Dongzhaigang,Hainan Island,China,we used observational and climate model data to assess the risks to mangroves under low,intermediate,and very high greenhouse gas(GHG)emission scenarios(such as SSP1-2.6,SSP2-4.5,and SSP5-8.5)in 2030,2050,and 2100,and compiled a risk assessment scheme for mangroves in Dongzhaigang,*** results showed that the combined risks from SLR and TCs will continue to rise;however,SLRs will increase in intensity,and TCs will *** comprehensive risk of the Dongzhaigang mangroves posed by climate change will remain low under SSP1-2.6 and SSP2-4.5 scenarios by 2030,but it will increase substantially by *** under SSP5-8.5 scenario,the risks to mangroves in Dongzhaigang are projected to increase considerably by 2050,and approximately 68.8%of mangroves will be at very high risk by *** risk to the Dongzhaigang mangroves is not only influenced by the hazards but also closely linked to their exposure and *** therefore propose climate resilience developmental responses for mangroves to address the effects of climate *** study for the combined impact of TCs and SLR on mangroves in Dongzhaigang,China can enrich the method system of mangrove risk assessment and provide references for scientific management.

Revolutionizing tumor immunotherapy:unleashing the power of progenitor exhausted T cells

In exploring persistent infections and malignancies, a distinctive subgroup of CD8^(+) T cells, progenitor exhausted CD8^(+) T(Tpex) cells, has been identified. These Tpex cells are notable for their remarkable self-renewal and rapid proliferation abilities. Recent strides in immunotherapy have demonstrated that Tpex cells expand and differentiate into responsive exhausted CD8^(+) T cells, thus underscoring their critical role in the immunotherapeutic retort. Clinical examinations have further clarified a robust positive correlation between the proportional abundance of Tpex cells and enhanced clinical prognosis. Tpex cells have found noteworthy applications in the formulation of inventive immunotherapeutic approaches against tumors. This review describes the functions of Tpex cells in the tumor milieu, particularly their potential utility in tumor immunotherapy. Precisely directing Tpex cells may be essential to achieving successful outcomes in immunotherapy against tumors.

Dynamic Update Scheme of Spectrum Information Based on Spectrum Opportunity Incentive in the Database-Assisted Dynamic Spectrum Management

To solve the problem of delayed update of spectrum information(SI) in the database assisted dynamic spectrum management(DB-DSM), this paper studies a novel dynamic update scheme of SI in DB-DSM. Firstly, a dynamic update mechanism of SI based on spectrum opportunity incentive is established, in which spectrum users are encouraged to actively assist the database to update SI in real time. Secondly, the information update contribution(IUC) of spectrum opportunity is defined to describe the cost of accessing spectrum opportunity for heterogeneous spectrum users, and the profit of SI update obtained by the database from spectrum allocation. The process that the database determines the IUC of spectrum opportunity and spectrum user selects spectrum opportunity is mapped to a Hotelling model. thirdly, the process of determining the IUC of spectrum opportunities is further modelled as a Stackelberg game by establishing multiple virtual spectrum resource providers(VSRPs) in the database. It is proved that there is a Nash Equilibrium in the game of determining the IUC of spectrum opportunities by VSRPs. Finally, an algorithm of determining the IUC based on a genetic algorithm is designed to achieve the optimal IUC. The-oretical analysis and simulation results show that the proposed method can quickly find the optimal solution of the IUC, and ensure that the spectrum resource provider can obtain the optimal profit of SI update.

Distributed Matching Theory-Based Task Re-Allocating for Heterogeneous Multi-UAV Edge Computing

Many efforts have been devoted to efficient task scheduling in Multi-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)edge ***,the heterogeneity of UAV computation resource,and the task re-allocating between UAVs have not been fully considered ***,most existing works neglect the fact that a task can only be executed on the UAV equipped with its desired service function(SF).In this backdrop,this paper formulates the task scheduling problem as a multi-objective task scheduling problem,which aims at maximizing the task execution success ratio while minimizing the average weighted sum of all tasks’completion time and energy *** three coupled goals in a realtime manner with the dynamic arrival of tasks hinders us from adopting existing methods,like machine learning-based solutions that require a long training time and tremendous pre-knowledge about the task arrival process,or heuristic-based ones that usually incur a long decision-making *** tackle this problem in a distributed manner,we establish a matching theory framework,in which three conflicting goals are treated as the preferences of tasks,SFs and ***,a Distributed Matching Theory-based Re-allocating(DiMaToRe)algorithm is put *** formally proved that a stable matching can be achieved by our *** simulation results show that Di Ma To Re algorithm outperforms benchmark algorithms under diverse parameter settings and has good robustness.

Intratumoral microbiota has become research hotspots,and emerges as a non-negligent new component of tumor microenvironments(TME),due to its powerful infuence on tumor initiation,metas-tasis,immunosurveillance and prognosis despite in *** accumulations of microbes,and their related components and metabolites within tumor tissues,endow TME with additional pluralistic features which are distinct from the conventional ***,it's definitely necessary to comprehen-sively delineate the sophisticated landscapes of tumor microbe microenvironment,as well as their func-tions and related underlying ***,in this review,we focused on the fields of tumor microbe microenvironment,including the heterogeneity of intratumor microbiota in different types of tu-mors,the controversial roles of intratumoral microbiota,the basic features of tumor microbe microenvi-ronment(i.e.,pathogen-associated molecular patterns(PAMPs),typical microbial metabolites,autophagy,infammation,multi-faceted immunomodulation and chemoresistance),as well as the multi-disciplinary approach-based intervention of tumor microbiome for cancer therapy by applying wild-type or engineered live microbes,microbiota metabolites,antibiotics,synthetic biology and rationally de-signed *** hope our work will provide valuable insight to deeply understand the interplay of cancer-immune-microbial,and facilitate the development of microbes-based tumor-specific treatments.

Cell replacement therapy using neural progenitor cells(NPCs)has been shown to be an effective treatment for ischemic ***,the therapeutic effect is unsatisfactory due to the imbalanced homeostasis of the local microenvironment after *** acidosis is a common imbalanced homeostasis in the penumbra and could activate acid-sensing ion channels 1a(ASIC1a),a subunit of proton-gated cation channels following ischemic ***,the role of ASIC1a in NPCs post-ischemia remains ***,our results indicated that ASIC1a was expressed in NPCs with channel functionality,which could be activated by extracellular *** evidence revealed that ASIC1a activation inhibited NPC migration and neurogenesis through RhoA signaling-mediated reorganization of filopodia formation,which could be primarily reversed by pharmacological or genetic disruption of *** vivo data showed that the knockout of the ASIC1a gene facilitated NPC migration and neurogenesis in the penumbra to improve behavioral recovery after stroke.

Joint Optimization for on-Demand Deployment of UAVs and Spectrum Allocation in UAVs-Assisted Communication

To improve the efficiency and fairness of the spectrum allocation for ground communication assisted by unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),a joint optimization method for on-demand deployment and spectrum allocation of UAVs is proposed,which is modeled as a mixed-integer non-convex optimization problem(MINCOP).An algorithm to estimate the minimum number of required UAVs is firstly proposed based on the pre-estimation and simulated *** MINCOP is then decomposed into three sub-problems based on the block coordinate descent method,including the spectrum allocation of UAVs,the association between UAVs and ground users,and the deployment of ***,the optimal spectrum allocation is derived based on the interference mitigation and channel *** association between UAVs and ground users is optimized based on local iterated optimization.A particle-based optimization algorithm is proposed to resolve the subproblem of the UAVs *** results show that the proposed method could effectively improve the minimum transmission rate of UAVs as well as user fairness of spectrum allocation.
