The historical significance of the Stern–Gerlach(SG)experiment lies in its provision of the initial evidence for space *** time,its sequential form has evolved into an elegant paradigm that effectively illustrates the fundamental principles of quantum *** date,the practical implementation of the sequential SG experiment has not been fully *** this study,we demonstrate the capability of programmable quantum processors to simulate the sequential SG *** specific parametric shallow quantum circuits,which are suitable for the limitations of current noisy quantum hardware,are given to replicate the functionality of SG devices with the ability to perform measurements in different ***,it has been demonstrated that Wigner’s SG interferometer can be readily implemented in our sequential quantum *** the utilization of the identical circuits,it is also feasible to implement Wheeler’s delayed-choice *** propose the utilization of cross-shaped programmable quantum processors to showcase sequential experiments,and the simulation results demonstrate a strong alignment with theoretical *** the rapid advancement of cloud-based quantum computing,such as BAQIS Quafu,it is our belief that the proposed solution is well-suited for deployment on the cloud,allowing for public *** findings not only expand the potential applications of quantum computers,but also contribute to a deeper comprehension of the fundamental principles underlying quantum theory.

Functional networks(FNs)hold significant promise in understanding brain *** component analysis(ICA)has been applied in estimating FNs from functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI).However,determining an optimal model order for ICA remains challenging,leading to criticism about the reliability of FN ***,we propose a SMART(splitting-merging assisted reliable)ICA method that automatically extracts reliable FNs by clustering independent components(ICs)obtained from multi-model-order ICA using a simplified graph while providing linkages among FNs deduced from different-model *** extend SMART ICA to multi-subject fMRI analysis,validating its effectiveness using simulated and real fMRI *** on simulated data,the method accurately estimates both group-common and group-unique components and demonstrates robustness to *** two age-matched cohorts of resting fMRI data comprising 1,950 healthy subjects,the resulting reliable group-level FNs are greatly similar between the two cohorts,and interestingly the subject-specific FNs show progressive changes while age ***,both small-scale and large-scale brain FN templates are provided as benchmarks for future *** together,SMART ICA can automatically obtain reliable FNs in analyzing multi-subject fMRI data,while also providing linkages between different FNs.

A comparative analysis of the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of rainfall and lightning in coastal and inland areas of Guangdong Province of China during the pre-summer rainy season(PSRS)from 2008 to 2017 reveals distinct *** the inland target region(ITR),rainfall is concentrated in the central and eastern mountainous *** exhibits a bimodal diurnal variation,with peaks in the afternoon and *** afternoon peak becomes more pronounced during the post-monsoon-onset period because of the increased rainfall ***,in the coastal target region(CTR),rainfall concentrates around mountainous ***,CTR’s rainfall is weaker than ITR’s during the pre-monsoon-onset period,primarily associated with the lower-level moisture outflow in CTR,but it strengthens significantly during the post-monsoon-onset period owing to enhanced moisture ***’s diurnal rainfall variation transitions from bimodal to a single broad peak during the post-monsoon-onset period,influenced by changes in both rainfall frequency and *** contrast to rainfall,the spatiotemporal distribution of lightning centers remains relatively stable during the *** strongest center is located over ITR’s plains west of the rainfall center,with a secondary center in the western plains of *** activity significantly increases during the post-monsoon-onset period,particularly in ITR,primarily because of the increased lightning *** diurnal lightning flash density and lightning hours show a single afternoon peak in the two target regions,and the timing of the peak in ITR is approximately two hours later than in *** circulation analysis indicates that during early morning,the lower atmosphere is nearly neutral in *** advected warm,moist,unstable airflow,combined with topography,favors convection *** the afternoon,solar radiation increases thermal instability,further enhancing the convection frequency and in

The classification of functional data has drawn much attention in recent *** main challenge is representing infinite-dimensional functional data by finite-dimensional features while utilizing those features to achieve better classification *** this paper,we propose a mean-variance-based(MV)feature weighting method for classifying functional data or functional *** the feature extraction stage,each sample curve is approximated by B-splines to transfer features to the coefficients of the spline *** that,a feature weighting approach based on statistical principles is introduced by comprehensively considering the between-class differences and within-class variations of the *** also introduce a scaling parameter to adjust the gap between the weights of *** new feature weighting approach can adaptively enhance noteworthy local features while mitigating the impact of confusing *** algorithms for feature weighted K-nearest neighbor and support vector machine classifiers are both ***,the new approach can be well integrated into existing functional data classifiers,such as the generalized functional linear model and functional linear discriminant analysis,resulting in a more accurate *** performance of the mean-variance-based classifiers is evaluated by simulation studies and real *** results show that the newfeatureweighting approach significantly improves the classification accuracy for complex functional data.

The rapid development of modern cryptographic applications such as zero-knowledge,secure multiparty computation,fully homomorphic encryption has motivated the design of new so-called arithmetization-oriented symmetric *** designing ciphers in this domain is relatively new and not well-understood,the security of these new ciphers remains to be completely *** this paper,we revisit the security analysis of arithmetizat ionoriented cipher *** uses the Legendre symbol as a component,which is tailored specifically for the use in zero-knowledge and efficiently-varifiable proof *** FSE 2022,the first preimage attack on some original full GrendelHash instances was *** a countermeasure,the designer adds this attack into the security analysis and updates the formula to derive the secure number of *** our work,we present new algebraic attacks on *** the preimage attack,we can reduce the complexity or attack one more round than previous attacks for some *** addition,we present the first collision attack on some round-reduced instances by solving the constrained input/constrained output problem for the underlying permutations.

We introduce Quafu-Qcover,an open-source cloud-based software package developed for solving combinatorial optimization problems using quantum simulators and hardware ***-Qcover provides a standardized and comprehensive workflow that utilizes the quantum approximate optimization algorithm(QAOA).It facilitates the automatic conversion of the original problem into a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization(QUBO)model and its corresponding Ising model,which can be subsequently transformed into a weight *** core of Qcover relies on a graph decomposition-based classical algorithm,which efficiently derives the optimal parameters for the shallow QAOA ***-Qcover incorporates a dedicated compiler capable of translating QAOA circuits into physical quantum circuits that can be executed on Quafu cloud quantum *** to a general-purpose compiler,our compiler demonstrates the ability to generate shorter circuit depths,while also exhibiting superior speed ***,the Qcover compiler has the capability to dynamically create a library of qubits coupling substructures in real-time,utilizing the most recent calibration data from the superconducting quantum *** ensures that computational tasks can be assigned to connected physical qubits with the highest *** Quafu-Qcover allows us to retrieve quantum computing sampling results using a task ID at any time,enabling asynchronous ***,it incorporates modules for results preprocessing and visualization,facilitating an intuitive display of solutions for combinatorial optimization *** hope that Quafu-Qcover can serve as an instructive illustration for how to explore application problems on the Quafu cloud quantum computers.

Image enhancement is a widely used technique in digital image processing that aims to improve image aesthetics and visual quality. However, traditional methods of enhancement based on pixel-level or global-level modifications have limited effectiveness. Recently, as learning-based techniques gain popularity, various studies are now focusing on utilizing networks for image enhancement. However, these techniques often fail to optimize image frequency domains. This study addresses this gap by introducing a transformer-based model for improving images in the wavelet domain. The proposed model refines various frequency bands of an image and prioritizes local details and high-level features. Consequently, the proposed technique produces superior enhancement results. The proposed model’s performance was assessed through comprehensive benchmark evaluations, and the results suggest it outperforms the state-of-the-art techniques.

Unique shortest vector problem(uSVP)plays an important role in lattice based *** cryptographic schemes based their security on *** the cofidence of those applications,it is essential to clarify the complex-ity of uSVP with different ***,proving the NP-hardness of usVP appears quite *** the state of the art,we are even not able to prove the NP-hardness of usVP with constant *** this work,we gave a lower bound for the hardness of usVP with constant parameters,*** proved that uSVP is at least as hard as gap shortest vector problem(GapSVP)with gap of O(√n/log(n)),which is in NP n *** previous works,our reduction works for paramters in a bigger range,especially when the constant hidden by the big-O in GapsVP is smallerthan1.

Electricity theft is a widespread non-technical issue that has a negative impact on both power grids and electricity *** hinders the economic growth of utility companies,poses electrical risks,and impacts the high energy costs borne by *** development of smart grids is crucial for the identification of power theft since these systems create enormous amounts of data,including information on client consumption,which may be used to identify electricity theft using machine learning and deep learning ***,there also exist different solutions such as hardware-based solutions to detect electricity theft that may require human resources and expensive ***-based solutions are presented in the literature to identify electricity theft but due to the dimensionality curse,class imbalance issue and improper hyper-parameter tuning of such models lead to poor *** this research,a hybrid deep learning model abbreviated as RoGRUT is proposed to detect electricity theft as amalicious and non-malicious *** key steps of the RoGRUT are data preprocessing that covers the problem of class imbalance,feature extraction and final theft *** advanced-level models like RoBERTa is used to address the curse of dimensionality issue,the near miss for class imbalance,and transfer learning for *** effectiveness of the RoGRUTis evaluated using the dataset fromactual smartmeters.A significant number of simulations demonstrate that,when compared to its competitors,the RoGRUT achieves the best classification *** performance evaluation of the proposed model revealed exemplary results across *** accuracy achieved was 88%,with precision at an impressive 86%and recall reaching 84%.The F1-Score,a measure of overall performance,stood at 85%.Furthermore,themodel exhibited a noteworthyMatthew correlation coefficient of 78%and excelled with an area under the curve of 91%.
