Metamorphic P-T-t Evolution of Granulite in the Yishui Area:New Insights into the Tectonic Evolution of the Eastern Block,North China Craton

The Yishui complex,located in the western Shandong area of the North China Craton,is representative of the Archean crystalline basement of the North China Craton to explore the early tectonic-thermal evolution history of the *** petrography,mineral chemistry,metamorphic evolution and zircon U-Pb dating are presented for felsic granulite and two-pyroxene granulite from the Yishui complex to contribute to new insights into the Neoarchean tectonic evolution of the North China *** mineral assemblages are recognized for these granulite samples,including the prograde(M1),peak(M2)and retrograde(M3)mineral *** geothermobarometry and phase equilibrium modeling yield P-T conditions of 6.5-10.9 kbar/718-839℃ for the peak metamorphism,which define a medium-pressure granulite-facies metamorphism occurred at middle to lower *** P-T paths with near-isobaric cooling(IBC)retrograde segments were *** LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating suggests that the protolith of the felsic granulite was emplaced at 2541±7 Ma and the subsequent medium-pressure granulite-facies metamorphism occurred at 2518-2494 Ma.A two-stage mantle plume related crustal-scale sagduction geodynamic regime is proposed in the western Shandong terrane in the Neoarchean.

Rock fracture mechanism of buffer blasting with cushion layer at the borehole bottom

This study primarily investigates the rock fracture mechanism of bottom cushion layer blasting and explores the effects of the bottom cushion layer on rock *** involves analyses of the evolution patterns of blasting stress,characteristics of crack distribution,and rock fracture features in the ***,blasting model experiments were carried out using the dynamic caustics principle to investigate the influence of bottom cushion layers and initiation methods on the integrity of the bottom rock *** experimental results indicate that the combined use of bottom cushion layers and inverse initiation effectively protects the integrity of the bottom rock ***,the process of stress wave propagation and dynamic crack propagation in rocks was simulated using the continuum-discontinuum element method(CDEM)and the Landau explosion source model,with varying thicknesses of bottom cushion *** numerical simulation results indicate that with increasing cushion thickness,the absorption of energy generated by the explosion becomes more pronounced,resulting in fewer cracks in the bottom rock *** illustrates the positive role of the cushion layer in protecting the integrity of the bottom rock mass.

Facilitation of microbialite development by continental weathering in the Cambrian Zhangxia Formation,southern North China Block

We report geochemical data for carbonate rocks from the Cambrian Zhangxia Formation,southern North China Block,including trace-element contents and C,O,and Sr isotopic compositions,to determine the controls on the development of microbialites in this *** sedimentary environment of the Zhangxia Formation evolved from carbonate-slope through platform-margin-reef to ooid-shoal,and then to open-platform settings,corresponding to the development of micrites,microbialites,and oolitic *** data show that δ13C values decrease upwards through the Zhangxia Formation,from 0.99‰to-1.59‰,whereas δ18O values increase from-9.91‰to-7.10‰.Total rare earth element （REE）contents decrease upwards through the stratigraphy,and the contents of Th and Sc show a similar trend.87Sr/86Sr ratios reach a maximum of 0.710544 in the horizons of microbialite development,Member 2 of the Zhangxia Formation,above which the ratios are uniform,with a mean value of *** these geochemical data with the inferred sedimentary evolution,the Zhangxia Formation is interpreted to have formed in a depositional environment that changed from transgression to *** weathering played a crucial role in promoting the input of terrigenous materials,which in turn favored the development of microbialites during the early stage of deposition of the Zhangxia Formation.

Abiotic aerobic oxidation pathways of stibnite revealed by oxygen and sulfur isotope systematics of sulfate

The environmental threat posed by stibnite is an important geoenvironmental issue of current *** better understand stibnite oxidation pathways,aerobic abiotic batch experiments were conducted in aqueous solution with varyingδ^(18)O_(H_(2)O) value at initial neutral pH for different lengths of time(15-300 days).The sulfate oxygen and sulfur isotope compositions as well as concentrations of sulfur and antimony species were *** sulfur isotope fractionation factor(△^(34)S_(SO4-stibnite))values decreased from 0.8‰to-2.1‰during the first 90 days,and increased to 2.6‰at the 180 days,indicating the dominated intermediate sulfur species such as S_(2)O_(3)^(2-),S0,and H_(2)S(g)involved in Sb2S3 oxidation *** incorporation of O into sulfate derived from O_(2)(~100%)indicated that the dissociated O_(2)was only directly adsorbed on the stibnite-S sites in the initial stage(0-90 days).The proportion of O incorporation into sulfate from water(27%-52%)increased in the late stage(90-300 days),which suggested the oxidation mechanism changed to hydroxyl attack on stibnite-S sites promoted by nearby adsorbed O_(2)on stibnite-Sb *** exchange of oxygen between sulfite and water may also contributed to the increase of water derived O into SO42-.The new insight of stibnite oxidation pathway contributes to the understanding of sulfide oxidation mechanism and helps to interpret field data.

Improving atmospheric pressure vertical correction model using Gaussian function

The Zenith Hydrostatic Delay(ZHD) is essential for high-precision Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry(VLBI) data processing. Accurate estimation of ZHD relies on in situ atmospheric pressure, which is primarily variable in the vertical direction. Current atmospheric pressure is either site-specific or has limited spatial coverage, necessitating vertical corrections for broader applicability. This study introduces a model that uses a Gaussian function for the vertical correction of atmospheric pressure when in situ meteorological observations are unavailable. Validation with the fifth-generation European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts reanalysis(ERA5) reveals an average Bias and RMS for the new model of 0.31 h Pa and 2.96 h Pa,respectively. This corresponds to improvements of 37.5% and 80.3% in terms of RMS compared to two commonly used models(T0and Tvmodels) that require in situ meteorological observations,respectively. Additional validation with radiosonde data shows an average Bias and RMS of 1.85 h Pa and 4.87 h Pa, corresponding to the improvement of 42.8% and 71.1% in RMS compared with T0and Tv models, respectively. These accuracies are sufficient for calculating ZHD to an accuracy of 1 mm by performing atmospheric pressure vertical correction. The new model can correct atmospheric pressure from meteorological stations or numerical weather forecasts to different heights of the troposphere.

Standardized framework for assessing soil quality at antimony smelting site by considering microbial-induced resilience and heavy metal contamination

Effects of Building Blocks and Defects on the Performance of Two-Dimensional Photonic Crystal Sensors for Black Liquor Detection

In this study, to achieve convenient and sensitive detection of the concentration of the black liquor solution, we constructed two-dimensional photonic crystal sensors with a periodic arrangement of elliptical and circular pores in a hexagonal *** photonic bandgap in transverse magnetic（TM） mode was analyzed using the plane wave expansion method. This was followed by simulations to obtain absorption spectra at different concentrations of black liquor, with subsequent processing and computation. The simulation results revealed a linear correlation between the concentration of black liquor and the position of the trough in the absorption spectrum under consistent temperature conditions. Notably, as the concentration of black liquor solution increased, the position of absorption spectra trough shifted towards the low-frequency region. Through parameters optimization, we achieved a relationship equation with a linear fitting coefficient R2of 1.000. The sensitivity of the two-dimensional photonic crystal sensor composed of circular scatters with line defects in the hexagonal lattice can be as high as 508.3 nm/RIU when the mass fraction of black liquor solution ranges from 10 to 20%. These results provide an essential theoretical basis for applying photonic crystal sensors to detect black liquor concentrations. This study holds promise for the design and fabrication of high-performance photonic crystal sensors for practical applications.

Effective stress dissipation by multi-dimensional architecture engineering for ultrafast and ultralong sodium storage

Stress accumulation is a key factor leading to sodium storage performance deterioration for NiSe2-based ***,inhibiting the concentrated local stress during the sodiataion/desodiation process is crucial for acquiring stable NiSe2-based materials for sodium-ion batteries（SIBs）,Herein,a stress dissipation strategy driven by architecture engineering is proposed,which can achieve ultrafast and ultralong sodium storage *** from the conventional sphere-like or rod-like architecture,the three-dimensional（3D） flower-like NiSe2@C composite is delicately designed and assembled with onedimensional nanorods and carbon *** importantly,the fundamental mechanism of improved structure stability is unveiled by simulations and experimental results *** demonstrates that this designed multidimensional flower-like architecture with dispersed nanorods can balance the structural mismatch,avoid concentrated local strain,and relax the internal stress,mainly induced by the unavoidable volume variation during the repeated conversion ***,it can provide more Na+-storage sites and multi-directional migration pathways,leading to a fast Na+-migration channel with boosted reaction *** expected,it delivers superior rate performance(441 mA h g-1at 5.0 A g-1) and long cycling stability(563 mA h g-1at 1.0 A g-1over 1000 cycles) for *** work provides useful insights for designing high-performance conversion-based anode materials for SIBs.

Machine learning-assisted fluorescence visualization for sequential quantitative detection of aluminum and fluoride ions
