Paving the Way towards Green Development:Impact of the Belt and Road Initiative on Electrification in Participating Countries

Electrification is crucial for achieving global net zero emissions and reducing energy poverty, particularly in developing countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This study uses the difference-in-differences method to examine the BRI's impact on electrification levels in 118 countries from 2009 to 2020. Its findings indicate that the BRI increased electrification in BRI countries by approximately 1 percent compared with non-BRI countries. This increase was driven primarily by enhanced trade and investments, which facilitated imports of power equipment and supported China-backed power-plant projects. The BRI's impact was more pronounced in Maritime Silk Road countries, high-income nations, and those with favorable business environments. Although the BRI promoted both renewable and nonrenewable power equipment imports, it primarily favored nonrenewable infrastructure investments. Given China's expertise in clean energy, there remains untapped potential for the BRI to prioritize renewable energy integration, fostering a sustainable and low-carbon future.

In this paper, we study a portfolio selection problem of an investor with a retirement option, who has possibility to buy life insurance and does not tolerate any decline in consumption. The agent's optimization problem can be viewed as a mixed singular control and optimal stopping problem with time-inhomogeneous utility functions. The closed-form optimal solution is not available in general. We use the dual control method to convert the original problem into two classes of optimal stopping problems in finite and infinite *** show that the optimal consumption strategy and the best retirement time depend on the free-boundary functions which satisfy Fredholm and Volterra integral equations. We derive the closed-form formulas for these two free boundaries for some special cases and develop numerical methods to solve the integral equations of the free boundaries for general cases.

In order to improve the efficiency of cloud-based web services,an improved plant growth simulation algorithm scheduling *** model first used mathematical methods to describe the relationships between cloud-based web services and the constraints of system ***,a light-induced plant growth simulation algorithm was *** performance of the algorithm was compared through several plant types,and the best plant model was selected as the setting for the *** results show that when the number of test cloud-based web services reaches 2048,the model being 2.14 times faster than PSO,2.8 times faster than the ant colony algorithm,2.9 times faster than the bee colony algorithm,and a remarkable 8.38 times faster than the genetic algorithm.

Why do humans punish free riders at their own expense? This behavior represents an evolutionary puzzle in human societies. This study explores the role of exit strategies in fostering altruistic punishment within evolutionary game theory. We extend the traditional prisoner's dilemma model by incorporating exiters, players who opt out for a small payoff while nullifying their opponent's payoff, and altruistic punishers who cooperate and punish non-cooperators. Our findings indicate that in well-mixed populations, exiters destabilize defection but do not promote altruistic punishment. In social networks, however,exiters enable altruistic punishment via cyclic dominance among altruistic punishers, defectors, and exiters. Notably, this cyclic dominance is sensitive to exit payoffs; adjustments can lead to cyclic dominance of non-punishing cooperators, defectors, and exiters, or to a bi-stable state between these two types of cyclic dominance. These results highlight the nuanced impact of exiters on altruistic punishment, emphasizing the need for careful incentivization of exit behavior. While exiters can support altruistic punishment in networked populations, their effectiveness is not a panacea and is highly sensitive to exit payoffs, indicating limits to the voluntary participation mechanism.

In this paper, we call a tuple consisting of 3-Lie algebra and a higher derivation on it a 3-LieHDer pair. We introduce a cohomology theory of 3-LieHDer pairs. Next, we interpret the second cohomology group as the space of all isomorphism classes of abelian extensions. Finally,we consider formal deformations of 3-LieHDer pairs that are governed by the cohomology with self-coefficient.

Semenov-Tian-Shansky has given the solution of the modified classical Yang-Baxter equation, which was called the modified r-matrix. Relevant studies have been extensive in recent times. In this paper, we introduce the concept and representations of modified RotaBaxter Hom-Lie algebras. We develop a cohomology of modified Rota-Baxter Hom-Lie algebras with coefficients in a suitable representation. As applications, we study formal deformations and abelian extensions of modified Rota-Baxter Hom-Lie algebras in terms of second cohomology groups.

Abstract The distribution of Seidel eigenvalues of cographs is investigated in this *** prove that there is no Seidel eigenvalue of nontrivial cographs in the interval (-1,1).We also show the optimality of the interval (-1,1) in the sense that for any■>0 either of the intervals(1,1+■) and (-1-■,-1) contains a Seidel eigenvalue of some cograph of order n when n is sufficiently large.

Spatial Evolution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Urban Green Innovation in China

Cities are important carriers of green innovation. The foundation for accelerating China's ecological civilization construction and fostering regionally coordinated and sustainable development is quantitative analysis of the spatial evolution pattern and influencing factors of urban green innovation, as well as revealing the development differences between regions. This study's research object includes 284 Chinese cities that are at the prefecture level or above, excluding Xizang, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan of China due to incomplete data. The spatial evolution characteristics of urban green innovation in China between 2005 and 2021 are comprehensively described using the gravity center model and boxplot analysis. The factors that affect urban green innovation are examined using the spatial Durbin model(SDM). The findings indicate that: 1) over the period of the study, the gravity center of urban green innovation in China has always been distributed in the Henan-Anhui border region, showing a migration characteristic of ‘initially shifting northeast,subsequently southeast', and the migration speed has gradually increased. 2) Although there are also noticeable disparities in east-west,the north-south gap is the main cause of the shift in China's urban green innovation gravity center. The primary areas of urban green innovation in China are the cities with green innovation levels higher than the median. 3) The main influencing factor of urban green innovation is the industrial structure level. The effect of the financial development level, the government intervention level, and the openness to the outside world degree on urban green innovation is weakened in turn. The environmental regulation degree is not truly influencing urban green innovation. The impact of various factors on green innovation across cities of different sizes, exhibiting heterogeneity.
