Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is characterized by progressive synaptic dysfunction,neuronal death,and brain atrophy,with amyloid-p(Ap)plaque deposits and hyperphosphorylated tau neurofibrillary tangle accumulation in the brain tissue,which all lead to loss of cognitive *** mutations in the well-known AD causal genes including APP,PSEN1,and PSEN2 impair a variety of pathways,including protein processing,axonal transport,and metabolic *** we identified a missense variant rs117916664(c.896T>C,***299Ser[p.N299S])of the acetyl-CoA acyltransferase 1(ACM1)gene in a Han Chinese AD family by whole-genome sequencing and validated its association with early-onset familial AD in an independent *** in vitro and in vivo evidence showed that ACAA1 p.N299S contributes to AD by disturbing its enzymatic activity,impairing lysosomal function,and aggravating the Ap pathology and neuronal loss,which finally caused cognitive impairment in a murine *** findings reveal a fundamental role of peroxisome-mediated lysosomal dysfunction in AD pathogenesis.

Granulomatous lobular mastitis(GLM) is a rare and chronic benign inflammatory disease of the breast. Difficulties exist in the management of GLM for many front-line surgeons and medical specialists who care for patients with inflammatory disorders of the breast. This consensus is summarized to establish evidence-based recommendations for the management of GLM. Literature was reviewed using PubMed from January 1, 1971 to July 31, 2020. Sixty-six international experienced multidisciplinary experts from 11 countries or regions were invited to review the *** of evidence were determined using the American college of Physicians grading system, and recommendations were discussed until consensus. Experts discussed and concluded 30 recommendations on historical definitions,etiology and predisposing factors, diagnosis criteria, treatment, clinical stages, relapse and recurrence of GLM. GLM was recommended as a widely accepted definition. In addition, this consensus introduced a new clinical stages and management algorithm for GLM to provide individual treatment strategies. In conclusion, diagnosis of GLM depends on a combination of history, clinical manifestations, imaging examinations, laboratory examinations and *** approach to treatment of GLM should be applied according to the different clinical stage of GLM. This evidencebased consensus would be valuable to assist front-line surgeons and medical specialists in the optimal management of GLM.

Evaluating Training Programs for Electroacupuncture Techniques with Skin Temperature as a New Index

Training in acupuncture techniques has a long history of thousands of years. It has been individually handed down from person (teacher) to person (student). However, techniques and training have not been scientifically evaluated because individual differences may exist among evaluators. In animal studies, some researchers have reported that acupuncture stimulation dilates blood vessels of the skin and skeletal muscles. These studies also reveal an association between skin temperature (ST) and blood circulation volume on the skin. Our previous studies have reported that acupuncture stimulation, especially that of electroacupuncture (EA), can elevate ST. Therefore, we monitored the instructive effects and level of EA techniques with ST and propose that we can bring monitoring ST into training/education of EA as a new index of technical assessment. Moreover, ratio of changes might be used as new criteria for retraining. Healthy students (n = 14) were given with 10 minutes of EA stimulation on the tibialis anterior: Zusanli (ST36) and Tiaokou (ST38). Their ST was monitored before and during stimulation as well as for 30 minutes after stimulation. All subjects showed a nominal increase in ST. At the time, ratios of changes were also calculated. Two subjects did not reach the average of 1.3%. This suggests that the technical level of the therapist was inadequate. Thus, observation of ST elevation and calculation of the average ratio of ST change (elevation) could be applied to a new scientific index of technical assessment in acupuncture treatment training. However, further research (e.g., larger-scale studies, adjustment for gender differences, or other age subjects) is required to support these findings.

A critical readability and quality analysis of internet-based patient information on neck dissections

Perovskite solar cells(pero-SCs)performance is essentially limited by severe non-radiative losses and ion *** numerous strategies have been proposed,challenges remain in the basic understanding of their ***,we report a dielectric-screening-enhancement effect for perovskite defects by using organic semiconductors with finely tuned molecular structures from the atoms *** method produced various perovskite films with high dielectric constant values,reduced charge capture regions,suppressed ion migration,and it provides an efficient charge transport pathway for suppressing non-radiative recombination beyond the passivation *** resulting pero-SCs showed a promising power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 23.35%with a high open-circuit voltage(1.22 V);and the 1-cm^(2) pero-SCs maintained an excellent PCE(21.93%),showing feasibility for scalable *** robust operational and thermal stabilities revealed that this method paved a new way to understand the degradation mechanism of pero-SCs,promoting the efficiency,stability and scaled fabrication of the pero-SCs.

Many important crops(e.g.,tuber,root,and tree crops)are *** these crops,no inbred lines are available for genetic study and breeding because they are self-incompatible,clonally propagated,or have a long generation time,making the identification of agronomically important genes difficult,particularly in crops with a complex autopolyploid *** this study,we developed a method,OutcrossSeq,for mapping agronomically important loci in outcrossing crops based on whole-genome low-coverage resequencing of a large genetic population,and designed three computation algorithms in OutcrossSeq for different types of outcrossing *** applied OutcrossSeq to a tuberous root crop(sweet potato,autopolyploid),a tree crop(walnut tree,highly heterozygous diploid),and hybrid crops(double-cross populations)to generate high-density genotype maps for the outcrossing populations,which enable precise identification of genomic loci underlying important agronomic *** causative genes at these loci were detected based on functional *** together,our results indicate that OutcrossSeq is a robust and powerful method for identifying agronomically important genes in heterozygous species,including polyploids,in a cost-efficient *** OutcrossSeq software and its instruction manual are available for downloading at ***/tool/***.

To the Editor:The"eighteen antagonistic medicaments,"an indispensable component of Oriental Pharmacology,states that sargassum and licorice should not be administered simultaneously.^([1])Researchers have reported that co-administration of licorice and sargassum exerted toxic effects on the heart,liver,and kidney of rats.^([2,3])However,the classic recipe"Hai-Zao-Yu-Hu-Tang,"(containing licorice and sargassum)is currently used,though the safety profile of this medication has not been clearly ***.
