The paper compares clothing thermal resistance of the same ensemble tested by different thermal manikins in different laboratories. It also examines the consistence of the two groups of total thermal resistance by Paired-Sample T Test method, which proves that there is no remarkable difference in testing results under the same experiment method and requirement. It is of great significance in promoting the application of thermal manikin testing technology and academic exchange among different institutes.

To improve the ballistic resistance of the ballistic resistant composites, this paper deals with the microscopically fractographic analysis of their failure caused by Fragments Simulated Projectiles (FSP) and bullet with the objective to clarify the failure modes of the composites, and to further improve the ballistic resistance of the ballistic systems by hybridizing based on the currently market available materials.After the analysis, it has been found that the penetration of the FSP into the panels causes shear failure in the impact side of the target but extensive tension failure in the distal side of the composite target. The failure modes also include matrix fragmentation, and delamination, and with resin content as high as 30%, more filaments are broken by cutting in the composite. Compared with the failure caused by bullet, there are more cutting or shearing for the failure caused by FSP, but more compressive failure caused by bullet. This paper also discusses the effects of hybridizing different types of fabrics on the ballistic resistance of the composite based on the observations and numerical simulation.

The woven fabric can be defined as orthogonal elastomer if the extension force that puts on the fabric is very small. Based on the precondition, the apparent elasticity constants of a woven fabric were analyzed theoretically in the paper. The bias angle (which is between weft yarns and extension direction ) affects apparent elasticity modulus and elasticity coefficient of the fabric in the extension direction. And the experiment describes fluxes of elasticity constants going with the bias angle of the fabric.

The mechanical properties of laser welded joints under impact loadings such as explosion and car crash etc. are critical for the engineering designs. The hardness, static and dynamic mechanical properties of AISI304 and AISI316L dissimilar stainless steel welded joints by CO2 laser were experimentally studied. The dynamic strainstress curves at the strain rate around 103 s-1 were obtained by the split Hopkinson tensile bar （SHTB）. The static mechanical properties of the welded joints have little changes with the laser power density and all fracture occurs at 316 L side. However, the strain rate sensitivity has a strong depen- dence on laser power density. The value of strain rate factor decreases with the increase of laser power density. The welded joint which may be applied for the impact loading can be obtained by reducing the laser power density in the case of welding quality assurance.

Based on specific host-guest interactions between amine-modified [3-cyclodextrin （CD-TAEA） and functional adamantane （AD） derivatives, a module-template strategy has been proposed for the construction of low-molecular-weight cationic assem- blies for gene transport. This strategy offers great flexibility in terms of the introduction of mono- or multi-functionality by the inclusion of one or more adamantane-based modules with the desired functionalities. As proof of concept, phenylboronic acid （PB） containing adamantane （PB-AD） was used as a model module in the hope of offering enhanced cytosolic delivery in con- sideration of the special affinity of PB groups with cell membranes. The physicochemical properties of the complexes formed with plasmid DNA, such as particle size, zeta potential and morphology were investigated. Confocal laser scanning microsco- py and flow cytometry experiments demonstrated the important contribution of the functional PB-AD module to the consider- ably enhanced intracellular internalization and uptake by cellular nuclei. Compared to the parent CD-TAEA, PB-AD/CD- TAEA assemblies mediated higher transfection rates, which were even comparable to that of PEI25K. In addition, PB-AD/CD- TAEA displayed much lower cytotoxicity than PEI25K in both 293T and HeLa cell lines. The encouraging results suggest that CD-TAEA can be developed as a powerful template capable of readily accommodating various AD-based modules giving versatile functionalities for improved transfection.

Nonlinear Optimization Method of Ship Floating Condition Calculation in Wave Based on Vector

Ship floating condition in regular waves is calculated. New equations controlling any ship＇s floating condition are proposed by use of the vector operation. This form is a nonlinear optimization problem which can be solved using the penalty function method with constant coefficients. And the solving process is accelerated by dichotomy. During the solving process, the ship＇s displacement and buoyant centre have been calculated by the integration of the ship surface according to the waterline. The ship surface is described using an accumulative chord length theory in order to determine the displacement, the buoyancy center and the waterline. The draught forming the waterline at each station can be found out by calculating the intersection of the ship surface and the wave surface. The results of an example indicate that this method is exact and efficient. It can calculate the ship floating condition in regular waves as well as simplify the calculation and improve the computational efficiency and the precision of results.

Fabrication and magnetic properties of NiFe_2O_4 nanorods

NiFe2O4 nanorods have been successfully synthesized via thermal treatment of the rod-like precursor fabricated by Ni-doped （x-FeOOH, which was enwrapped by the complex of citric acid and Niz~. The morphology evolution during the calcination of the precursor nanorods was investigated with transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, and the phase and the magnetic properties of samples were analyzed through X-ray diffraction （XRD） and vibrating sample magnetometer （VSM）. The results indicated that the diameter of the NiFe204 nanorods obtained ranged between 30 and 50 nm, and the length ranged between 2 and 3 um. As the calcination temperature was up to 600℃, the coercivity, saturation magnetization, and remanent magnetization of the samples were 36.1 kA.m^-1, 27.2 ***^-1, and 5.3 ***^-1, respectively. The NiFe2O4 nanorods prepared have higher shape anisotropy and superior magnetic properties than those with irregular shapes.

The electremagnetic radicalization has become more serious. The shielding effectiveness of polyester fabrics with different inlaid distance of parallel metal fibres to electromagnetic wave was studied in this paper on special instrument made by ourselves. The results of test show that the fabric with different inlaid distances of metal fibres and the testing angle between electric field plane and parallel metal fibres of have obvious effect on the shielding effectiveness of electromagnetic wave.
