These years the korean air force has been paying around 600 thousand dollars to bring up a pilot. However, if he/she fails to be a pilot, it will be a great loss from the national point of view. Therefore, it is quite necessary to catch out characteristics of skillful pilots more quickly, and to screen promising trainees as early as possible. In this research, 20 graduate students and 20 senior students from the Korea air force academy took an aptitude test in the type of the Paper-and-Pencil Test and carried out simulated flights. Their results were analyzed to verify whether the results of them are correlated with the flight ability in real situations. According to Quantification techniques adopted for treating qualitative as well as quantitative attributes, there was no correlationship between scores of the aptitude test and the flight ability, and the former could not anticipate the score in the simulated flight even less that in the real situation. Consequently, there was no statistical evidence that flight ability in the simulated situations could predict that in the real situations, but discussion about the rule of thumb that the experience of the simulated flight would be helpful to manipulate instrumental devices in the real flight was added.
