The morphologies of triblock copolymer/homopolymer blend films, ABA/A and ABAIB, confined between two neutral hard walls were studied via Monte Carlo （mc） simulation on a simple .cubic lattice. The effects of φh （the volume fraction of homopolymer） and Md/Mb （the molecular weight of homopolymer in relation to that of the corresponding blocks in the copolymer） on the morphologies were investigated in detail.

AIM: To conduct a systematic literature review about the influence of gender on the recognition of facial expressions of six basic emotions. METHODS: We made a systematic search with the search terms(face OR facial) AND(processing OR recognition OR perception) AND(emotional OR emotion) AND(gender or sex) in Pub Med, Psyc INFO, LILACS, and Sci ELO electronic databases for articles assessing outcomes related to response accuracy and latency and emotional intensity. The articles selection was performed according to parameters set by COCHRANE. The reference lists of the articles found through the database search were checked for additional references of interest. RESULTS: In respect to accuracy, women tend to perform better than men when all emotions are considered as a set. Regarding specific emotions, there seems to be no gender-related differences in the recognition of happiness, whereas results are quite heterogeneous in respect to the remaining emotions, especially sadness, anger, and disgust. Fewer articles dealt with the parameters of response latency and emotional intensity, which hinders the generalization of their findings, especially in the face of their methodological differences. CONCLUSION: The analysis of the studies conducted to date do not allow for definite conclusions concerning the role of the observer's gender in the recognition of facial emotion, mostly because of the absence of standardized methods of investigation.

Epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC)is the most lethal gynaecological malignancy in the western *** majority of women presenting with the disease are asymptomatic and it has been dubbed the“silent killer”.To date there is no effective minimally invasive method of stratifying those with the disease or screening for the disease in the general *** molecular and pathological discoveries,along with the advancement of scientific technology,means there is a real possibility of having disease-specific liquid biopsies available within the clinical environment in the near *** this review we discuss these discoveries,particularly in relation to the most common and aggressive form of EOC,and their role in making this possibility a reality.

Group psychological intervention for maternal depression: A nested qualitative study from Karachi, Pakistan

AIM To understand the experience of maternal depression, the factors implicated in accessing health, and the acceptability of the psychosocial intervention. METHODS The participants were recruited from the paediatrics outpatient department of Civil Hospital Karachi, Pakistan. The study started in December 2009 and completed in December 2010. Women with maternal depression, aged 18-44 years with children aged 0-30 mo who had received nutritional supplements, and participated in the intervention programme [called Learning through Play(LTP) plus] were included in the study. Qualitative interviews were conducted with 8 participants before the intervention and 7 participants after the intervention. A semi structured topic guide was used to conduct the *** Framework analysis procedures were used to analyse the qualitative data. Four themes emerged:(1) the women's contextual environment: Interpersonal conflicts, lack of social support and financial issues being the major barriers in assessing healthcare;(2) women's isolation and powerlessness within the environment: Sense of loneliness was identified as a restricting factor to access healthcare;(3) the impact of the intervention(LTP-Plus): Women felt "listened to" and seemed empowered; and(4) empowered transformed women within the same contextual environment: The facilitator provided a "gardening role" in nurturing the women resulting in a positive transformation within the same environment. The women's homes seemed to be more happy homes and there was a positive change in their behaviour towards their *** Findings informed the further development and testing of culturally-appropriate psychosocial intervention(LTP^+) for addressing maternal depression.

Study on the efficiency of the underground muon detectors in YangBaJing Hybrid Array

We introduce a potential new working reference material-natural zircon megacrysts from an Early Pliocene alkaline basalt(from Penglai,northern Hainan Island,southern China)-for the microbeam determination of O and Hf isotopes,and U-Pb age *** Penglai zircon megacrysts were found to be fairly homogeneous in Hf and O isotopes based on large numbers of measurements by LA-multiple collector(mc)-ICP-MS and SIMS,respectively. Precise determinations of O isotopes by isotope ratio mass spectrometry(IRMS)and Hf isotopes by solution mc-ICP-MS were in good agreement with the statistical mean of microbeam measurements. The meanδO value of 5.31±0.10‰(2s)by IRMS and the mean Hf/Hf value of 0.282906±0.0000010(2s)by solution mc-ICP-MS are the best reference values for the Penglai *** and isotope dilution-TIMS measurements yielded consistent Pb/U ages within analytical uncertainties,and the preferred Pb/U age was found to be 4.4±0.1 Ma (95%confidence interval).The young age and variably high common Pb content make the Penglai zircons unsuitable as a primary U-Pb age reference material for calibration of unknown samples by microbeam analysis;however,they can be used as a secondary working reference material for quality control of U-Pb age determination for young (particularlymc-ICP-MS et SIMS,assez homogenes en terme d’isotopes de I’O et de I’*** determinations precises des isotopes de I’O par IRMS et des isotopes de I’Hf par mc-ICP-MS solution sont en bon accord avec la moyenne statistique des analyses *** valeur moyenneδO de 5.31±0.10‰(2s)par IRMS

OBJECTIVE: To examine the relationship between cholesterol and other lipids, APOE genotype, and risk of Alzheimer disease (AD) in a population-based study of elderly Yoruba living in Ibadan, Nigeria. METHODS: Blood samples and clinical data were collected from Yoruba study participants aged 70 years and older (N = 1,075) as part of the Indianapolis-Ibadan Dementia Project, a longitudinal epidemiologic study of AD. Cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and triglyceride levels were measured in fasting blood samples. DNA was extracted and APOE was genotyped. Diagnoses of AD were made by consensus using National institute of Neurologic Disorders/Stroke-Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association criteria. RESULTS: Logistic regression models showed interaction after adjusting for age and gender between APOE-ε4 genotype and biomarkers in the risk of AD cholesterolgenotype (p = 0.022), LDLgenotype (p = 0.018), and triglyceridegenotype (p = 0.036). Increasing levels of cholesterol and LDL were associated with increased risk of AD in individuals without the APOE-ε4 allele, but not in those with APOE-ε4. There was no significant association between levels of triglycerides and AD risk in those without APOE-ε4. CONCLUSIONS: There was a significant interaction between cholesterol, APOE-ε4, and the risk of Alzheimer disease (AD) in the Yoruba, a population that has lower cholesterol levels and lower incidence rates of AD compared to African Americans. APOE status needs to be considered when assessing the relationship between lipid levels and AD risk in population studies.

Magnesium(Mg)is an important element for its enhanced osteogenic and angiogenic properties in vitro and in vivo,however,the inherent alkalinity is the adverse factor that needs further *** order to study the role of alkalinity in regulating osteogenesis and angiogenesis in vitro,magnesium-silicocarnotite[Mg-Ca5(PO4)2SiO4,Mg-CPS]was designed and *** this study,Mg-CPS showed better osteogenic and angiogenic properties than CPS within 10wt.%magnesium oxide(MgO),since the adversity of alkaline condition was covered by the benefits of improved Mg ion concentrations through activating Smad2/3-Runx2 signaling pathway in mc3T3-E1 cells and PI3K-AKT signaling pathway in human umbilical vein endothelial cells in ***,provided that MgO was incorporated with 15wt.%in CPS,the bioactivities had declined due to the environment consisting of higher-concentrated Mg ions,stronger alkalinity and lower Ca/P/Si ions *** to the results,it indicated that bioactivities of Mg-CPS in vitro were regulated by the double-edged effects,which were the consequence of Mg ions and alkaline environment ***,if MgO is properly incorporated in CPS,the improved bioactivities could cover alkaline adversity,making Mg-CPS bioceramics promising in orthopedic clinical application for its enhancement of osteogenesis and angiogenesis in vitro.

AIM: To compare adherence, response, and remission with light treatment in African-American and Caucasian patients with Seasonal Affective ***: Seventy-eight study participants, agerange 18-64(51 African-Americans and 27 Caucasians)recruited from the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area, with diagnoses of recurrent mood disorder with seasonal pattern, and confirmed by a Structured Clinical Interview for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-Ⅳ, were enrolled in an open label study of daily bright light treatment. The trial lasted6 wk with flexible dosing of light starting with 10000 lux bright light for 60 min daily in the morning. At the end of six weeks there were 65 completers. Three patients had Bipolar Ⅱ disorder and the remainder had Major depressive disorder. Outcome measures were remission(score ≤ 8) and response(50% reduction)in symptoms on the Structured Interview Guide for the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(SIGH-SAD)as well as symptomatic improvement on SIGH-SAD and Beck Depression Inventory-Ⅱ. Adherence was measured using participant daily log. Participant groups were compared using t-tests, chi square, linear and logistic regressions. RESULTS: The study did not find any significant group difference between African-Americans and their Caucasian counterparts in adherence with light treatment as well as in symptomatic *** symptomatic improvement and rate of treatment response were not different between the two groups,African-Americans, after adjustment for age, gender and adherence, achieved a significantly lower remission rate(African-Americans 46.3%; Caucasians 75%; P =0.02).CONCLUSION: This is the first study of light treatment in African-Americans, continuing our previous work reporting a similar frequency but a lower awareness of SAD and its treatment in African-Americans. Similar rates of adherence, symptomatic improvement and treatment response suggest that light treatment is a feasible, acceptable,
