Taxi trajectories from urban environments allow inferring various information about the transport service qualities and commuter *** is possible to associate starting and end points of taxi trips with requirements of individual groups of people and even social *** research shows that due to service restrictions,boro taxis have typical customer destination locations on selected Saturdays:many drop-off clusters appear near the restricted zone,where it is not allowed to pick up customers and only few drop-off clusters appear at complicated *** crossings imply recent infrastructural *** want to follow up on these results and add one additional group of commuters:Citi Bike *** selected Saturdays in June 2015,we want to compare the destinations of boro taxi and Citi Bike *** is challenging due to manifold differences between active mobility and motorized road users,and,due to the fact that station-based bike sharing services are restricted to *** and end points of trips,as well as the volumes in between rely on specific numbers of bike sharing ***,we introduce a novel spatiotemporal assigning procedure for areas of influence around static bike sharing stations for extending available computational methods.

Rechargeable zinc-air batteries(ZABs) have recently drawn great attention in energy research due to their high theoretical capacity,low costs, and inherently safe nature [1–3]. However, the sluggish cathode reactions necessitate the development of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts with lower ΔE indicator values. The ΔE indicator is commonly employed to quantitatively evaluate the electrocatalytic activity of a bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst,representing the overall overpotential from oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) to oxygen evolution reaction(OER).

In 1993,the World Bank released a global report on the efficacy of health promotion,introducing the disability-adjusted life years(DALY)as a novel *** DALY,a composite metric incorporating temporal and qualitative data,is grounded in preferences regarding disability *** review delineates the algorithm used to calculate the value of the proposed DALY synthetic indicator and elucidates key methodological challenges associated with its *** contrast to the quality-adjusted life years approach,derived from multi-attribute utility theory,the DALY stands as an independent synthetic indicator that adopts the assumptions of the Time Trade Off utility technique to define Disability *** to rely on no mathematical or economic theory,DALY users appear to have exempted themselves from verifying whether this indicator meets the classical properties required of all indicators,notably content validity,reliability,specificity,and *** DALY concept emerged primarily to facilitate comparisons of the health impacts of various diseases globally within the framework of the Global Burden of Disease initiative,leading to numerous publications in international *** widespread adoption,the DALY synthetic indicator has prompted significant methodological concerns since its inception,manifesting in inconsistent and non-reproducible *** the substantial diffusion of the DALY indicator and its critical role in health impact assessments,a reassessment is *** reconsideration is imperative for enhancing the robustness and reliability of public health decisionmaking processes.

The vision of Digital Earth(DE)put recently forward under the auspices of the International Society for DE extends the paradigm of spatial data infrastructures by advocating an interactive and dynamic framework based on near-to-real time information from sensors and *** paper contributes to developing that vision and reports the results of a two-year research project exploring the extent to which it is possible to extract information useful for policy and science from the large volumes of messages and photos being posted daily through social *** the noted concerns about the quality of such data in relation to that provided by authoritative sources,the research has developed a semi-automatic workflow to assess the fitness for purpose of data extracted from Twitter and Flickr,and compared them to that coming from official sources,using forest fires as a case *** findings indicate that we were able to detect accurately six of eight major fires in France in the summer of 2011,with another four detected by the social networks but not reported by our official source,the European Forest Fire Information *** findings and the lessons learned in handling the very large volumes of unstructured data in multiple languages discussed in this study provide useful insights into the value of social network data for policy and science,and contribute to advancing the vision of DE.

Sensor networks are widely used in many applications to collaboratively collect information from the physical environment. In these applications, the exploration of the relationship and linkage of sensing data within multiple regions can be naturally expressed by joining tuples in these regions. However, the highly distributed and resource-constraint nature of the network makes join a challenging query. In this paper, we address the problem of processing join query among different regions progressively and energy-efficiently in sensor networks. The proposed algorithm PEJA （Progressive Energy-efficient Join Algorithm） adopts an event-driven strategy to output the joining results as soon as possible, and alleviates the storage shortage problem in the in-network nodes. It also installs filters in the joining regions to prune unmatchable tuples in the early processing phase, saving lots of unnecessary transmissions. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and real world data sets indicate that the PEJA scheme outperforms other join algorithms, and it is effective in reducing the number of transmissions and the delay of query results during the join processing.
