Spatial-temporal patterns and evolution of carbon storage in China's terrestrial ecosystems from 1980 to 2020

Analyzing the changes in carbon storage in terrestrial ecosystems caused by land use changes is a crucial part of exploring the carbon cycle. In addition, enhancing carbon storage in terrestrial ecosystems is an effective and environmentally friendly measure to sequester anthropogenic carbon emissions, which is significant for achieving carbon neutrality and curbing global climate change. This paper uses land use data and carbon density tables with the In VEST model to obtain a carbon storage distribution map of China. It further applies land use response elasticity coefficients, Theil index multi-stage nested decomposition, and spatial autocorrelation analysis to examine the spatial-temporal patterns, causes of changes, and evolution characteristics of carbon storage in terrestrial ecosystems from 1980 to 2020. The results show that the temporal changes in China's carbon storage generally present an inverted S-curve, with an initial rapid decline followed by a slower decrease. Spatially, it features high levels in the northeast, low levels in the northwest, and a uniform distribution in the central and southern *** disturbance of land use type changes on terrestrial ecosystem carbon storage has been effectively mitigated. The significant reduction in grassland area in the Southwest region is the main source of carbon storage loss during the study period, and the encroachment of construction land on arable land in large urban agglomerations is one of the important causes of carbon storage loss. The Theil index multi-stage nested decomposition results indicate that the overall difference in carbon storage in China has decreased, while differences among cities within provinces and among counties within cities have increased. The influence of natural factors on the distribution of carbon storage is weakening, whereas the impact of human activities is becoming more profound, enhancing its influence on the spatial distribution of carbon storage in China. Wetland degradation has been accelerating in recent years globally. Accurate information on the geographic distribution and categories of wetlands is essential for their conservation and management. Despite being the world′s fourth largest continent, South America has limited research on wetland mapping, and there is currently no available map that provides comprehensive information on wetland distribution and categories in the region. To address this issue, we used Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and SRTM data, developed a sample collection method and a wetland mapping method with a collection of multi-source features such as optical features, polarization features and shape features for South American wetlands. We produced a 10-m resolution wetland map based on the Google Earth Engine(GEE) platform. Our Level-1 wetland cover map accurately captured six wetland sub-categories with an overall accuracy of 96.24% and a kappa coefficient of 0.8649, while our Level-2 water cover map included five sub-categories with an overall accuracy of 97.23% and a kappa coefficient of0.9368. The results show that the total area of existing wetlands in South America is approximately 1,737,000 km~2, which is6.8% of the total land area. Among the ten wetland categories, shallow sea had the largest area(960,527.4 km~2), while aquaculture ponds had the smallest area 1513.6 km~2. Swamp had the second largest area(306,240.1 km~2). Brazil, Argentina,Venezuela, Bolivia, and Colombia were found to have the largest wetland areas, with Brazil and Colombia having the most diverse wetland categories. This product can serve as baseline data for subsequent monitoring, management, and conservation of South American wetlands.

Enhancing transboundary natural tourism resources governance:unveiling the spatial pattern and its influencing factors

Tourism resources that span provincial boundaries in China play a pivotal role in regional development,yet effective governance poses persistent *** study addresses this issue by constructing a comprehensive database of transboundary natural tourism resources(TNTR)through amalgamation of diverse data *** the Getis-Ord Gi^(*),kernel density estimation,and geographical detectors,we scrutinize the spatial patterns of TNTR,focusing on both named and unnamed entities,while exploring the influencing *** findings reveal 7883 identified TNTR in China,with mountain tourism resources emerging as the predominant *** provinces,Hunan boasts the highest count,while Shanghai exhibits the *** China demonstrates a pronounced clustering trend in TNTR distribution,with the spatial arrangement of biological landscapes appearing more random compared to geological and water *** China,characterized by intricate terrain,exhibits fewer TNTR,concurrently unveiling a significant presence of unnamed natural tourism ***,administrative segmentation influences TNTR development,generating disparities in regional goals,developmental stages and intensities,and management *** response to these variations,we advocate for strengthening the naming of the unnamed transboundary tourism resources,constructing a geographic database of TNTR for government and establishing a collaborative management mechanism based on TNTR *** research contributes to elucidating the intricate landscape of TNTR,offering insights for tailored governance strategies in the realm of cross-provincial tourism resource management.

N-doping offering higher photodegradation performance of dissolved black carbon for organic pollutants: experimental and theoretical studies

We investigated the influence mechanism of N-doping for dissolved black carbon(DBC)photodegradation of organic *** degradation performance of N-doped dissolved black carbon(NDBC)for tetracycline(TC)(71%)is better than that for methylene blue(MB)(28%)under *** levels are both better than DBC degradation performances for TC(68%)and MB(18%)under *** species quenching experiments suggest that h and-O,are the main reactive species for NDBC photodegraded TC,while-OH and h*are the main reactive species for NDBC photodegraded MB.-OH is not observed during DBC photodegradation of *** is likely because N-doping increases valence-band(VB)energy from 1.55 eV in DBC to 2.04 eV in NDBC;the latter is strong enough to oxidize water to ***,N-doping increases the DBC band gap of 2.29 to 2.62 eV in NDBC,resulting in a higher separation efficiency of photo-generated electrons-holes in NDBC than in *** these factors give NDBC stronger photodegradation performance for TC and MB than ***-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS)characterization and toxicity evaluation with the quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR)method suggest that TC photodegradation intermediates produced by NDBC have less aromatic structure and are less toxic than those produced by *** adopted a theoretical approach to clarify the relationship between the surface groups of NDBC and the photoactive species *** results add to the understanding of the photochemical behavior of NDBC.

Flotation separation of feldspar from quartz using sodium fluosilicate as a selective depressant

The physical and chemical properties of feldspar and quartz are highly similar,thus they cannot be easily separated *** this work,the flotation separation of feldspar from quartz using sodium fluosilicate(Na_(2)SiF_(6);SF)as a selective depressant was ***,the influence mechanism of SF on the selective flotation separation of feldspar and quartz was investigated via flotation tests,chemical analysis of flotation solution,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and contact angle *** results of the flotation tests show that feld spar and quartz without SF treatment have good *** SF treatment,feldspar still has good floatability,whereas quartz has significantly reduced *** solution chemical analysis shows that the functional group plays an important role in depressing the quartz is[SiF_(6)]^(2-).FTIR,XPS and contact angle analysis results show that[SiF_(6)]^(2-)is adsorbed only on the surface of ***,a thin hydrophilic SiOF layer is generated on the surface,which interferes with the adsorption of the collector on the surface of the *** phenomenon leads to a significant reduction in quartz's ***,SF has a good ability to separate feldspar from quartz by flotation.

Spatial Patterns and Drivers of Intelligent Manufacturing from a ‘Global-local' Perspective:A Study of China's Industrial Robotics

The advancement of the intelligent manufacturing industry(IMI) represents the future direction for the world's manufacturing sector, offering a promising avenue to bolster national competitiveness and enhance industrial manufacturing efficiency. In this study, we took the industrial robot industry(IRI) as a case study to elucidate the spatial distribution and interconnections of IMI from a geographical perspective, and the modified diamond model(DM) was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results show that: 1) the spatial pattern of IRI with various investment attributes in different industrial chain links is generally similar, centered in the *** investment areas are in the east and south. The spatial distribution of China's IRI covers a multitude of provinces and obtains different scales of investment in different countries(regions). 2) The spatial correlation between foreign investors and China's provinciallevel administrative regions(PARs) forms a network, and the network of foreign-invested enterprises is more stable. Different countries(regions) have distinct location preferences in China, with significant spatial differences in correlation degrees. 3) Overall, the interaction of these factors shapes the location decisions and correlation patterns of industrial robot enterprises. This study not only contributes to our theoretical knowledge of the industrial spatial structure and industrial economy but also offers valuable references and suggestions for national IMI planning and relevant industry investors.
