As one of the important industrial crops and also an excellent model organism for studying cell elongation,cell wall biosynthesis as well as polyploidy evolution,cotton has always been in the limelight of the world(Shi et al.,2006;Qin and Zhu,2011).With the publication of the allotetraploid Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium barbadense genomes this year(Li et al.,2015;Zhang et al.,2015;Liu et al.,2015),all three important cotton genomes,including the two ancestor diploid Gossypium raimondii(DD)(Wang et al.,2012;Paterson et al.,2012)and Gossypium arboreum(AA)(Li et al.,2014)have been successfully sequenced by scientists from China and from the United States of America.Since functional studies of Arabidopsis thaliana

Antiproton-nucleus reactions at intermediate energies

Antiproton-induced reactions on nuclei at the beam energies from hundreds Me V up to several Ge V provide an excellent opportunity to study interactions between the antiproton and secondary particles(mesons, baryons and antibaryons) with nucleons. The antiproton projectile is unique in the sense that most of the annihilation particles are relatively slow in the target nucleus frame. Hence, the prehadronic effects do not much influence their interactions with the nucleons of the nuclear residue. Moreover, the particles with momenta less than about 1 Ge V/c are sensitive to nuclear mean field potentials. This paper discusses the microscopic transport calculations of the antiproton-nucleus reactions and is focused on three related problems:(i) antiproton potential determination,(ii) possible formation of strongly bound antiproton-nucleus systems, and(iii) strangeness production.

What is the most favorite and original chemistry developed in your research group?Oxidative Cross-Coupling-The chemistry between two"nucleophiles".How do you get into this specific field?Could you please share some experiences with our readers?My first contact with palladium chemistry was the halopalladation of acetylene in 1998.Then I worked on palladium enolate and found it could initiate a transmetalation reaction.Until 2006,I found that desyl chloride(a halogenated hydrocarbon)showed different reactivity with orga no metallic reagents due to the halophilic and oxyphilic properties,thus we achieved the cross-coupling between two orga no metallic reagents.

Regiodivergent catalysis provides an efficient strategic approach for the construction of architecturally different molecules from the same starting materials. In this field, the intermolecular regiodivergent 1,2-difunctionalization of alkenes with two electrophiles is still a challenging task. A ligand-controlled, nickel-catalyzed regiodivergent dicarbofunctionalization of alkenes using both aryl/vinyl halides and acetals as electrophiles under mild reductive reaction conditions has been accomplished. This study provides a general approach to accessing both β-methoxyl esters and γ-methoxyl esters from readily available acrylates,aryl halides and acetals. Experimental mechanistic evidence supports that the difference in regioselective outcomes is attributed to the ligand tuning the reactivity of the nickel catalyst, which results in different catalytic cycles operating for these two reaction conditions.

Synthesis of photocatalytic La_(1–x)A_xTiO_(3.5–δ)(A=Ba, Sr, Ca) nano perovskites and their application for photocatalytic oxidation of congo red dye in aqueous solution

A-site substituted La0.8A0.2TiO3.5–δ（A=Ba, Sr, Ca） nano perovskites were prepared by sol-gel method and characterized using thermogravimetry/differential thermal analysis（TGA/DTA）, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, ultraviolet-visible（UV-Vis） spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy（TEM）. XRD analysis showed that the La0.8A0.2TiO3.5–δ（A=Ba, Sr, Ca） nano perovskites derived after calcination at 800 oC were in single phase with orthorhombic structure. The particle size of all nano perovskites was found to be ~20 nm. The synthesized nano perovskites were tested for the photocatalytic decomposition of an azo dye, Congo red. The sequential behavior of La0.8A0.2TiO3.5–δ（A=Ba, Sr, Ca） nanoperovskites for photocatalytic decomposition of congo red in aqueous solution by visible light at room temperature was studied at various time intervals and the efficiency of degradation of the nanoperovskites was compared. Among all the A-site substituted La0.8A0.2TiO3.5–δ（A=Ba, Sr, Ca） nano perovskites, Ba substituted compound showed the highest dye degradation.

A nickel-catalyzed 1,1-diarylation of electronically unbiased alkenes has been developed,providing straightforward access to diarylalkanes from readily available materials.Importantly,both the efficiency and the regioselectivity of this transformation are ensured by reaction conditions,rather than the coordinating group of substrates.We also demonstrate that under balloon pressure,ethylene and propylene can also be utilized as substrates.Preliminary mechanistic experiments suggest that this transformation involves a Ni(0)/Ni(Ⅱ)catalytic cycle rather than a Ni(Ⅰ)/Ni(Ⅲ)cycle.

The effects of deformation on the microstructure and magnetic properties of non oriented electrical steels were investigated. Box annealed electrical steel sheets were deformed by tension at four different strains： 3%, 8%, 12 % and 25 % The internal grain misorientation caused by tensile deformation was measured by electron backscat- tering diffraction （EBSD） with grain orientation spread （GOS） as an indicator of the lattice distortion. The experi- mental results showed that the average GOS value increases with the strain. The microstructure and crystallographic texture of deformed samples did not show a significant change in samples strained below 25 %. However, the mag- netic properties were strongly affected： coercivity was directly proportional to the square root of the GOS value and energy losses increased as the strain level was increased.

Chemotherapy combined with photodynamic therapy has emerged as a promising strategy for cancer treatment.However,simultaneously delivering chemotherapeutic drugs and photosensitizers and precisely adjusting the ratio of the two components as needed remains a challengeable task.Herein,novel supramolecular nanoparticles(donated as BODIPY-CPT-NPs)for chemo-photodynamic combination cancer therapy are constructed from a glutathione-responsive camptothecin-based prodrug,BODIPY photosensitizer,and dimacrocyclic host molecule through orthogonal host-guest recognitions and co-assembly.With this strategy,the ratio of prodrugs and photosensitizers in nanoparticles can be easily and precisely controlled as needed.Benefiting from the strong host-guest interactions and stable self-assembly,the nanoparticles exhibit excellent stability and photobleaching resistance.Furthermore,camptothecin can be released from nanoparticles for chemotherapy in the presence of reduction agent and single oxygen can be efficiently generated for PDT with light irradiation.The combined effects of the BODIPY-CPT-NPs have been verified in CT26 and HeLa cancer cells.

gem-Difluoroalkenes are considered ideal isosteres for metabolically susceptible carbonyl groups in modern drug discovery and medicinal chemistry.In addition,gem-difluoroalkenes are used as versatile precursors for the synthesis of difluoroalkylated compounds and monofluoroalkenes.Therefore,a great deal of effort has been devoted to developing efficient methods for their preparation.The catalytic defluorinative functionalization of trifluoromethyl alkenes represents a useful strategy for the preparation of chiral gem-difluoroalkenes.However,most of these catalytic processes are still essentially limited to two-component defluorinative cross-couplings to form single C—C bonds.Due to the challenge of controlling chemoselectivity in the carbon-carbon bond forming events,three-component defluorinative cross-coupling involving multiple C—C bond formations has rarely been studied.We report a nickel-catalyzed three-component defluorinative reductive cross-coupling of organohalides,alkenes and trifluoromethyl alkenes.A variety of electron-rich and electron-deficient alkenes,as well as aryl and alkyl halides can efficiently participate in the formation of three-component cross-coupling products.This reaction proceeds under mild conditions and exhibits excellent functional group compatibility without requiring a pendant chelating group,providing a variety of functionalized gem-difluoroalkenes in good yields with excellent chemoselectivity.
