This article surveys the literature on social engineering. There are lots of security application and hardware in market;still there are several methods that can be used to breach the information security defenses of an organization or individual. Social engineering attacks are interested in gaining information that may be used to carry out actions such as identity theft, stealing password or gaining information for another type of attack. The threat lies with the combinations of social engineering with another type of attacks like Phishing and Watering hole attack which make it hard to defense against. This research aims to investigate the impact of modern Social Engineering on the organization or individual. It describes the categories of Social Engineering, and how the attacker takes advantage of human behavior. At the same time, I also discuss the direct and indirect attack of social engineering and the defense mechanism against this attack.

Effect of melting temperature on microstructural evolutions, behavior and corrosion morphology of Hadfield austenitic manganese steel in the casting process

In this study, the effect of melting temperature on the microstructural evolutions, behavior, and corrosion morphology of Hadfield steel in the casting process is investigated. The mold was prepared by the sodium silicate/CO_2 method, using a blind riser, and then the desired molten steel was obtained using a coreless induction furnace. The casting was performed at melting temperatures of 1350, 1400, 1450, and 1500°C, and the cast blocks were immediately quenched in water. Optical microscopy was used to analyze the microstructure, and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffractrometry(XRD) were used to analyze the corrosion morphology and phase formation in the microstructure, respectively. The corrosion behavior of the samples was analyzed using a potentiodynamic polarization test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) in 3.5 wt% NaCl. The optical microscopy observations and XRD patterns show that the increase in melting temperature led to a decrease of carbides and an increase in the austenite grain size in the Hadfield steel microstructure. The corrosion tests results show that with increasing melting temperature in the casting process, Hadfield steel shows a higher corrosion resistance. The SEM images of the corrosion morphologies show that the reduction of melting temperature in the Hadfield steel casting process induced micro-galvanic corrosion conditions.

A new lanthanum complex formulated as {（bpyH2）[La（btc）（H2O）4（NO3）]·2H2O}n （1）（btcH4=benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid; bpy=4,4＇-bipyridine） was hydrothermally synthesized. The complex was characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. X-ray crystal structural analysis revealed that the compound belonged to the monoclinic space group C2/c with cell parameters a= 1.42806（7） nm, b=1.10258（5） nm, c=1.60333（8） nm and β=101.9400（10）°. The complex was polymeric with La^III atoms linked by four O atoms from two carboxylate groups of one benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylate. The LaIn atom was ten coordinated in a distorted tetracapped trigonal prism. In the crystal structure, a wide range of noncovalent interactions consisting of hydrogen bonding （of the types of O-H…O, N-H…O and C-H…O） and ion pairing interactions connected the various components into a supramolecular structure.

In this paper we propose theoretically a set of ellipsometric configurations using a rotating polarizer, compensator, and analyzer at a speed ratio of N1ω：N2ω：N3ω. Different ellipsometric configurations can be obtained by giving different integral values to N1, N2, and N3. All configurations are applied to bulk c-Si and GaAs to calculate the real and imaginary parts of the refractive index of the samples. The accuracies of all ellipsometric configurations are investigated in the presence of a hypothetical noise and with small misalignments of the optical elements. Moreover, the uncertainties in the ellipsometric parameters as functions of the uncertainties of the Fourier coefficients are studied. The comparison among different configurations reveals that the rotating compensator–analyzer configuration corresponds to the minimum error in the calculated optical parameters.

A flow injection method is proposed for determining vanadium（V）. The method is based on its catalytic effect on the oxidation of malachite green oxalate by bromate. The reaction was monitored spectrophotometrically by measuring malachite green oxalate absorbance at λmax = 625 nm. The reagents and manifold variables, which have influences on the sensitivity, were investigated and the optimum conditions were established. The optimized conditions made it possible to determine vanadium in the ranges of 10-140 ng/mL with a detection limit of 5.2 ng/mL and a sample rate of 20 ± 5 samples/h.

In this paper, we propose an ellipsometer using a phase retarder and rotating polarizer and analyzer at a speed ratio I：N. Different ellipsometric configurations are presented by assuming N = 1, 2, and 3. Moreover, two values of the offset angle of the retarder are considered for each ellipsometric configuration. The Mueller formalism is employed to extract the Stokes parameters, from which the intensity received by the detector is obtained. The optical properties of c-Si are calculated using all configurations. A comparison between different configurations is carried out considering the effect of the noise on the results and the uncertainties in the ellipsometric parameters as functions of the uncertainties of the Fourier coefficients. It is found that the alignment of the phase retarder has a crucial impact on the results and the ellipsometric configuration with speed ratio 1：1 is preferred over the other configurations.

A pyridine-based diacid was synthesized via nucleophilic substitution reaction of 4-hydroxy benzoic acid with 2,6- dichloropyridine in the presence of potassium carbonate. The diacid was characterized using FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopic methods and also with elemental analysis. Polycondensation reaction of the diacid with different diols including 1,4-dihydroxy benzene, 1,5-dihydroxy naphthalene, bis-phenol A and bis-phenol-P resulted in preparation of pyridine-based poly（ether-ester）s. The polymers were characterized and their physical and thermal properties including inherent viscosity, molecular weight, solubility, thermal stability, thermal behavior and crystallinity were studied. They revealed high heat-resistance and improved solubility in polar solvents. Structure-property relations for the prepared polyester were also studied.

A nanoheterojunction composite photocatalyst Bi2O3/TiO2 working under visible-light （λ≥ 420 nm） was prepared by combining two semiconductors Bi2O3 and TiO2 varying the Bi2O3/TiO2 molar ratio. Maleic acid was employed as an organic binder to unite Bi2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles. The SEM, TEM, XRD and diffuse reflectance spectra were utilized to characterize the prepared Bi2O3/TiO2 nanoheterojunction. The nanocomposite exhibited unusual high photocatalytic activity in decomposing 2-propanol in gas phase and phenol in aqueous phase and, evolution of CO2 under visible light irradiation while the end members exhibited low photocatalytic activity. The composite was optimized to 5 mol% Bi2O3/TiO2. The remarkable high photocatalytic efficiency originates from the unique relative energy band position of Bi2O3 and TiO2 as well as the absorption of visible light by Bi2O3.
