Spatio-temporal patterns and climatic drivers of spring phenology in eight forest communities across the north-south transitional zone of China

Optimizing local search-based partial MaxSAT solving via initial assignment prediction

Partial maximum satisfiability(PMS) is a significant generalization of Boolean satisfiability(SAT) and maximum satisfiability(MaxSAT), by introducing hard clauses and soft clauses. Compared with SAT and MaxSAT, the PMS problem has more real-world applications where both hard and soft constraints are involved. Local search is an effective incomplete method for solving PMS and is useful for important domains where good-quality solutions are desired within reasonable *** local search PMS solvers, the approach for initial assignment generation is crucial because its effectiveness significantly affects practical performance. In this study, we propose a novel initial assignment prediction approach, called InitPMS. When predicting an assignment for PMS, InitPMS considers the specific structure of PMS instances, i.e., distinguishing hard and soft clauses. Our experiments on extensive PMS instances from MaxSAT evaluations(MSEs) 2020 and 2021 show that InitPMS significantly boosts the performance of five state-of-the-art local search PMS solvers, demonstrating its generality. In addition,our results indicate that incorporating InitPMS could improve the performance of one of the best incomplete PMS solvers in MaxSAT Evaluation 2021, indicating that InitPMS might help advance the state of the art in PMS solving.

Exploring efficient and nonprecious metal electrocatalysts of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is crucial for developing rechargeable zinc-air batteries(ZABs).Herein,an alloying-degree control strategy was employed to fabricate nitrogen-doped carbon sphere(NCS)decorated with dual-phase Co/Co_(7)Fe_(3)heterojunctions(CoFe@NCS).The phase composition of materials has been adjusted by controlling the alloying *** optimal CoFe_(0.08)@NCS electrocatalyst displays a half-wave potential of 0.80 V for ORR and an overpotential of 283 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2)for OER in an alkaline *** intriguing bifunctional electrocatalytic activity and durability is attributed to the hierarchically porous structure and interfacial electron coupling of highly-active Co_(7)Fe_(3)alloy and metallic Co *** the CoFe_(0.08)@NCS material is used as air-cathode catalyst of rechargeable liquid-state zinc-air battery(ZAB),the device shows a high peak power-density(157 mW·cm^(-2))and maintains a stable voltage gap over 150 h,outperforming those of the benchmark(Pt/C+RuO_(2))-based *** particular,the as-fabricated solid-state flexible ZAB delivers a reliable compatibility under different bending *** work provides a promising strategy to develop metal/alloy-based electrocatalysts for the application in renewable energy conversion technologies.

In the realm of nonlinear integrable systems, the presence of decompositions facilitates the establishment of linear superposition solutions and the derivation of novel coupled systems exhibiting nonlinear integrability. By focusing on single-component decompositions within the potential BKP hierarchy, it has been observed that specific linear superpositions of decomposition solutions remain consistent with the underlying equations. Moreover, through the implementation of multi-component decompositions within the potential BKP hierarchy,successful endeavors have been undertaken to formulate linear superposition solutions and novel coupled Kd V-type systems that resist decoupling via alterations in dependent variables.

Factors influencing the effectiveness of SM-VCE method in solving 3D surface deformation

The recovery of coseismic 3-dimensional(3D) surface deformation field plays a crucial role in studying seismic source characteristics and earthquake hazards. As of now, there are two main types of methods for recovering coseismic 3D surface deformations: the first type is to solve the problem directly by using the least squares method based on observations from three or more viewpoints, and the second type solves the problem by combining ascending and descending In SAR line-of-sight(LOS) observations with constraint models. The former type is mainly applicable to surface rupture earthquakes, because when an earthquake ruptures to the surface, we can usually obtain surface deformation observations from three or more views. The latter type applies to earthquakes that do not cause surface ruptures and have extensive blind faults. Currently, most research focuses on improving the above types of ***, some key factors in the coseismic 3D surface deformation inversion are rarely mentioned, such as the influence of window size on the inversion results in the strain model and variance component estimation method(SM-VCE), and whether the outliers in the observational data are considered. So, we developed a new chain of integrating In SAR observation and SM-VCE model to systematically assess the impacts of window size and outliers on coseismic 3D surface deformation inversions. Through simulation experiments, we observed that the selection of window size significantly impacts the accuracy of the results. Specifically, larger window sizes lead to wider residuals ranges in the fault region, resulting in the loss of extreme solution values when using a window of 15 × 15 pixels(i.e., 7.5 km × 7.5 km). Hence, we recommend utilizing windows with 7 × 7 pixels or 9 × 9 pixels for optimal accuracy, as larger window sizes diminish the significance of the outcomes.
