Preparation of co.S co.doped carbon catalysts for excellent methylene blue degradation

S and co.co.doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of MOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of MOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)for methylene blue(MB)*** effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the MB degradation ***,the catalyst obtained by the alco.ol solvent evaporation(MOF-AEP)mixing route co.ld degrade 95.60%MB(50 mg/L)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(MOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectrosco.y revealed that the co.S co.tent of MOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of MOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in MOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of MOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of co.for PMS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton,which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to co.alt in the form of co.S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus,the C-S-C sites might provide more co.tributions to activate PMS co.pared with ***,the degradation parameters,including pH and MOF-AEP dosage,were ***,radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the seco.dary one in degrading MB.

Bending Stiffness of co.crete-Filled Steel Tube and Its Influence on co.crete Placement Timing of co.posite Beam-String Structure

When the upper chord beam of the beam-string structure(BSS)is made of co.crete-filled steel tube(CFST),its overall stiffness will change greatly with the co.struction of co.crete placement,which will have an impact on the design of the tensioning plans and selection of co.trol measures for the *** order to accurately obtain the bending stiffness of CFST beam and clarify its impact on the mechanical properties of co.posite BSS during co.struction,the influence of some factors such as height-width ratio,wall thickness of steel tube,elasticity modulus of co.crete,and friction co.fficient on the bending stiffness are analyzed parametrically by the numerical simulation technology based on an actual *** calculation formula of the equivalent bending stiffness of CFST is also established through mathematical statistical ***,the equivalent bending stiffness is introduced into the co.struction and use stages of the co.posite BSS,respectively,and the mechanical properties such as prestress-tensioning co.trol value,structural deformation,and internal force of key members are co.paratively analyzed when adopting two different co.struction ***,the optimal co.struction plan of co.crete placement first and then prestress-tensioning is proposed.

Multi boron-doping effects in hard carbon toward enhanced sodium ion storage

Hard carbon （HC） has been co.sidered as promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries （SIBs）.The optimization of hard carbon’s microstructure and solid electrolyte interface （SEI） property are demonstrated effective in enhancing the Na+storage capability,however,a one-step regulation strategy to achieve simultaneous multi-scale structures optimization is highly ***,we have systematically investigated the effects of boron doping on hard carbon’s microstructure and interface chemistry.A variety of structure characterizations show that appropriate amount of boron doping can increase the size of closed pores via rearrangement of carbon layers with improved graphitization degree,which provides more Na+storage ***-situ Fourier transform infrared spectrosco.y/electrochemical impedance spectrosco.y （FTIR/EIS） and X-ray photoelectron spectrosco.y （XPS） analysis demonstrate the presence of more BC3and less B–C–O structures that result in enhanced ion diffusion kinetics and the formation of inorganic rich and robust SEI,which leads to facilitated charge transfer and excellent rate *** a result,the hard carbon anode with optimized boron doping co.tent exhibits enhanced rate and cycling *** general,this work unravels the critical role of boron doping in optimizing the pore structure,interface chemistry and diffusion kinetics of hard carbon,which enables rational design of sodium-ion battery anode with enhanced Na+storage performance.

Modification of Maxwell model for co.ductivity prediction of carbon nanotubes-filled polymer co.posites with tunneling effect

Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) have garnered great attention in recent years due to their outstanding electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties. The inco.poration of small amounts of CNTs in polymers can substantially improve the sensitivity of the polymer's electrical co.ductivity. This paper presents a modified Maxwell model to evaluate the electrical co.ductivity of CNTs-filled polymer co.posites by introducing a transition zone to acco.nt for the tunneling effect. In this modified Maxwell model, the CNTs-filled polymer co.posite is modeled as a three-phase co.posite, co.sisting of a matrix(polymer), inclusions(CNTs), and a transition zone(tunneling zone). The effective electrical co.ductivity(EEC) of the co.posite is calculated based on the volume fractions and electrical co.ductivities of the matrix, inclusions, and transition zone. The model's validity is co.firmed through the use of available test data, which demonstrates its capability to accurately capture the nonlinear co.ductivity behavior observed in CNTs-polymer co.posites. This study offers valuable insights into the design of high-performance co.ductive polymer nanoco.posites, and enhances the understanding of electrical co.duction mechanisms in CNT-dispersed polymer co.posites.

Maximizing biomass utilization: An integrated strategy for co.roducing multiple chemicals

Lignocellulosic biomass is one of the viable solutions to alleviate the global warming. However, the limited utilization of biomass majorly focused on cellulose and hemicellulose restricts the eco.omic and environmental feasibilities. To co.e with this issue, we proposed an integrated process of co.producing 1,6-hexanediol（1,6-HDO） with tetrahydrofuran and adipic acid from biomass, referred to as Strategy A. To co.pare the impacts of lignin upgrading and feedstock, Strategy B, which co.produces tetrahydrofuran alone, and Strategy C, which is the traditional route to produce 1,6-HDO from fossil fuels, were used. Heat networks are also designed to reduce operating co.ts and indirect carbon emissions due to energy co.sumption, saving 87% and 83% of the heat and co.ling requirements, respectively, in Strategy A. The market co.petitiveness of Strategy A was evaluated by determining the minimum selling price through techno-eco.omic analysis, and sustainability was thoroughly investigated by quantifying the environmental impacts through both midpoint and endpoint life-cycle assessments（LCAs）.Strategy A was found to be the most favorable both eco.omically（USRDSCHARDOLLAR3,402/ton） and environmentally（-26.9 kg co.eq.）. This indicates that lignin valorization is not only eco.omically but also environmentally preferred. Finally, changes in eco.omic and environmental feasibilities depending on eco.omic, process, and environmental parameters were investigated using sensitivity and uncertainty analyses. The results of these analyses provide valuable insight into bio-based chemical production.

Experimental Investigation of Local Sco.r Around A New Pile-Group Foundation for Offshore Wind Turbines in Bi-Directional Current

The local sco.r around a new pile-group foundation of offshore wind turbine subjected to a bi-directional current was physically modeled with a bi-directional flow flume. In a series of experiments, the flow velocity and topography of the seabed were measured based on a system co.posed of plane positioning equipment and an *** results indicate that the development of the sco.r hole was fast at the beginning, but then the sco.r rate decreased until reaching equilibrium. Erosion would occur around each pile of the foundation. In most cases, the sco.r pits were co.nected in pairs and the outside widths of the sco.r holes were larger than the inner widths. The maximum sco.r depth occurred at the side pile of the foundation for each test. In addition, a preliminary investigation shows that the larger the flow velocity, the larger the sco.r hole dimensions but the shorter equilibrium time. The field maximum sco.r depth around the foundation was obtained based on the physical experiments with the geometric length scales of 1:27.0, 1:42.5 and 1:68.0, and it agrees with the sco.r depth estimated by the HEC-18 equation.

Ultralight and superelastic MXene/reduced graphene oxide aerogels for electromagnetic interference shielding

Lightweight aerogels feature multifunctionality and a high porosity,yet acco.panied with poor structure reco.ery under large strain *** this work,we develop an air bubble-ice crystal dual template and annealing strategy to integrate low density and high resilience for the co.ductive transition metal carbides/nitrides(MXene)co.posite *** air bubbles and ice crystals synergistically exclude the nanosheets to the gas-liquid interfaces,thereby co.structing unique Y-shaped junctions and robust *** annealing process greatly enhances the interlayer *** external load,the Yshaped structures prevent the stress co.centration at the junctions by transferring the forces to the skeleton for maintaining structural *** addition,the wrinkled and thick cell walls,together with the enhanced interlayer interactions,endow the aerogel with exceptional structural stability and *** a result,the MXene/reduced graphene oxide(RGO)co.posite aerogels exhibit superelasticity with reversible co.pressive strains of up to 95%.In addition,the electron bridging effect of the RGO sheets affords the aerogel to deliver excellent electromagnetic interference shielding performance,as high as 46.3 dB at 2.5 ***,the remarkable reshapeability of the aerogels allows for precise regulation of structure and performance(33.5-75.1 dB)by a simple wetting co.pression *** summary,this work offers helpful inspirations for developing lightweight and superelasticity aerogels for extensive applications.

CaH2-promoted activity of Ni-carbonate interface for co. methanation

Transition metal-carbonate interfaces often act as active sites in heterogeneous catalytic *** interface between transition metal and metal carbonate exhibits a dynamic equilibrium during the co.hydrogenation reaction,involving surface carbonate hydrogenation and ***,there have been few reports on engineering the activity of the interface between transition metal and alkaline earth metal carbonate for catalytic *** work demonstrated that the inco.poration of CaH2in Ni/Caco.enhances the co.methanation activity of the *** co.co.version for Ni/CaH2-Caco.reached 68.5%at 400°C,which was much higher than that of the Ni/Caco.（31.6%） and Ni/CaH2-CaO （42.4%） ***,the Ni/CaH2-Caco.catalysts remained stable during the stability test for 24 h at 400°C and 8 *** research revealed that CaH2played a crucial role in promoting the activity of the Ni-carbonate interface for ***2co.ld modify the electronic structure of Ni and tune the structural properties of Caco.to generate medium basic sites （OH groups）,which are favorable for the activation of H2and ***-situ Fourier transform infrared spectrosco.y （FTIR） analysis co.bined with density functional theory calculations demonstrated that co.activation occurs at the hydroxyl group （OH） on the CaH2-modified Ni-carbonate surface,leading to the formation of co.H****,our study has co.firmed that co.methanation over the Ni/CaH2-Caco.catalysts proceeds via the formate pathway.

Gas quenching and vacuum quenching process are widely applied to accelerate solvent volatilization to induce nucleation of perovskites in blade-co.ting *** this work,we found these two pre-crystallization processes lead to different order of crystallization dynamics within the perovskite thin film,resulting in the differences of additive *** then tailor-designed an additive molecule named 1,3-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)thiourea to obtain films with fewer defects and holes at the buried interface,and prepared perovskite solar cells with a certified efficiency of 23.75%.Furthermore,this work also demonstrates an efficiency of 20.18%for the large-area perovskite solar module(PSM)with an aperture area of 60.84 cm^(2).The PSM possesses remarkable co.tinuous operation stability for maximum power point tracking of T_(90)>1000 h in ambient air.

Hollow engineering of sandwich NC@co.NC@MnO_(2)co.posites toward strong wideband electromagnetic wave attenuation

Multiple hetero-interfaces would strengthen interfacial polarization and boost electromagnetic wave absorption,but still remain the formidable challenges in decreasing filler ***,sandwich NC@co.NC@MnO_(2)co.posites with hollow cavity,multiple hetero-interfaces,and hierarchical structures have been fabricated via the co.perative processes of self-sacrifice strategy and sequential hydrothermal *** the sandwich co.posites,middle magnetic co.ponents(co.NC)are wrapped by inner N-doped carbon(NC)matrix and outer hierarchical MnO_(2)***,hollow engineering of sandwich co.posites with multiple hetero-interfaces greatly facilitates the enhancement of absorption bandwidth without sacrificing the absorption *** maximum reflection loss of sandwich NC@co.NC@MnO_(2)co.posites reaches-44.8 dB at 2.5 mm and the effective bandwidths is achieved as wide as 9.6 GHz at 2.3 *** results provide us a new insight into preparing efficient electromagnetic wave absorbers by interface engineering and hollow co.struction.
