Paleo-to Mesoproterozoic Tectono-Magmatic Events Recorded in the Huwan Complex from the Dabie Orogen,Central China:Evidence from Petrology and U-Pb Geochronology

To better understand the Paleo-to Mesoproterozoic tectonic evolution of the Dabie Orogen in the northern margin of Yangtze Block,we present geochronological data for metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks in the Huwan complex.A total of 385 detrital zircon LA-ICP-MS analyses for metasedimentary rocks yielded three^(207)Pb/^(206)Pb age populations:1.50-1.80 Ga,1.81-1.87 Ga and 1.93-2.0 Ga,providing a maximum depositional timing of ca.1.50 Ga;while metafelsic volcanic gneisses yielded protolith U-Pb ages of 1893±54 *** peak ages are remarkably consistent with the tectonothermal events that occurred in the northern Yangtze Block,indicating the presence of Paleo-to Mesoproterozoic magmatism in the Dabie *** age range of 1.93-2.0 Ga correlates with the Paleoproterozoic collision;the age range of 1.81-1.87 Ga coincides with the period of the post-orogenic extension;and the age range of 1.50-1.80 Ga is interpreted to associate with an extensional *** cores with age of 1732-1965 Ma haveε_(Hf)(t)values ranging from-11.70 to-2.47,indicating that juvenile crust involved in their magma *** to the similar age spectra,we proposed that the nucleus of the Dabie Orogen was close to the Yangtze Block since the *** Huwan complex has an intimate affiliation to the Yangtze Block,and implies multiple orogenic *** was not only experienced the Paleo-Tethys ocean subduction and collision,but also recorded Paleo-to Mesoproterozoic tectono-magmatic events in the Dabie Orogen.

Magmatic Processes of the Lingshan Granitic Batholith in the Dabie Orogen， Central China: Insights into Dabie-Type Porphyry Mo Mineralization

Dabie-type porphyry Mo deposits were proposed as a new type of porphyry Mo deposits， and had unique geological characteristics. It is still poorly understood about the magmatic processes that led to the Dabie-type Mo mineralization. Here， we present zircon U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotopic， whole-rock and biotite elemental， and whole-rock Sr-Nd isotopic analyses on the Lingshan granitic batholith in the Dabie orogen. It consists three units (I to III) that were emplaced before， genetically accompanied with， and after the Mo mineralization. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating yielded crystallization ages of 128.2 ± 1.0 Ma (MSWD = 1.14) for Unit I and ages of 127.8 ± 1.2 Ma (MSWD = 0.28) and 126.6 ± 1.8 Ma (MSWD = 1.6) for Unit II， indicating that they were emplaced during 130 to 125 Ma. The granites have high SiO2contents (75.84 to 78.94 wt.%) and low MgO contents (0.07 to 0.10 wt.%)， and are classified as fractionated I-type granite. Units I and II have similar Sr-Nd isotopic ratios (εNd(t) = -16.2 to -17.2， (87Sr/86Sr)i= 0.70540 to 0.70692) and zircon εHf(t) values (-17.4 to -20.4)， indicating they were derived from partial melting of the ancient Yangtze lower crust. Mo mineralized granite from Unit II is characterized by the lower oxygen fugacity， fluorine enrichment and high fractionation. Magmas of Units I and II have experienced fractional crystallization， with the assimilation of supracrustal materials that account for the increased TiO2， F and Mo contents， and the decreased ?O2. We proposed that the assimilation in upper crustal magmatic processes plays key factors for magmatic systems that led to the Dabie-type porphyry Mo deposits.

A Super-Large Rb-Nb Rare Metal Deposit has been Discovered in Huashi Village of Xinglong County, Hebei Province

Objective The Huashi Village in Xinglong County of Hebei Province is located in the Yanshan subsidence zone in the central eastern North China Plate, which is 137 km away from Beijing City （Fig. la）. This area has undergone large -scale magmatic intrusion affected by the tectonic compression of the Pacific Plate in the Mesozoic （known as the Yanshanian movement） to form many alkaline rocks such as the Wulingshan rock mass. Previous studies have conducted petrological research and reconnaissance survey of rare metal ores in this area （Tian Shuzhang and Guo Zongshan, 1981; Xu Baoling et al., 1996）. In 2016, the Qinhuangdao Mineral and Hydrology Engineering geological brigade of Hebei bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources Exploration implemented the project of Reconnaissance of Rare Metal Ores Including Rubidium in Huashi Village of Xinglong County, Hebei Province, and discovered super-large rare metal deposits of rubidium and biobium in the Madi alkali feldspar granite bodies in the Huashi Village to achieve great breakthrough of rare metal ore prospecting.

Geochemical and Isotopic Techniques Constraints on the Origin,Evolution,and Residence Time of Low-enthalpy Geothermal Water in Western Wugongshan,SE China

Geothermal resources are increasingly gaining attention as a competitive,clean energy source to address the energy crisis and mitigate climate *** Wugongshan area,situated in the southeast coast geothermal belt of China,is a typical geothermal anomaly and contains abundant medium-and low-temperature geothermal *** study employed hydrogeochemical and isotopic techniques to explore the cyclic evolution of geothermal water in the western Wugongshan region,encompassing the recharge origin,water-rock interaction mechanisms,and residence *** results show that the geothermal water in the western region of Wugongshan is weakly alkaline,with low enthalpy and mineralization *** hydrochemistry of geothermal waters is dominated by Na-HCO_(3)and Na-SO_(4),while the hydrochemistry types of cold springs are all Na-HCO_(3).The hydrochemistry types of surface waters and rain waters are NaHCO_(3)or Ca-HCO_(3).The δD and δ^(18)O values reveal that the geothermal waters are recharged by atmospheric precipitation at an altitude between 550.0 and 1218.6 *** ratios of maj or solutes and isotopic compositions of^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr underscore the significant role of silicate weathering,dissolution,and cation exchange in controlling geothermal water ***,geothermal waters experienced varying degrees of mixing with cold water during their ***δ^(13)C values suggest that the primary sources of carbon in the geothermal waters were biogenic and ***δ^(34)S value suggests that the sulfates in geothermal water originate from sulfide minerals in the surrounding *** dating using 3H and^(14)C isotopes suggests that geothermal waters have a residence time exceeding 1 kaBP and undergo a long-distance cycling process.

PRESENT STRESS STATE NEAR MEILING ARCUATE FAULTS

In this paper an analysis of the present stress field near the Meiling arcuate faults in Beijing area is made. Based on the in situ stress measurements, petrofabric analysis and model experiments, it has been found that this local stress field is a rotational shear stress field. It has been active from the late Yenshanian up to the present with the outer side rotating clockwise. The features of the local stress field are different from those of the present regional stress field characteristic of the Neocathaysian system. The trajectories of the maximum principal compressive stresses of the former show an arcuate pattern converging towards SE and diverging towards NW. However, those of the latter extend approximately in the NWW direction.

Trace element composition of peridotites from the southern Mariana forearc:Insights into the geochemical effects of serpentinization and/or seafloor weathering

Peridotites from the southern Mariana forearc were sampled on the landward trench slope of the Izu-Bonin-Mariana (IBM) subduction zone by *** mantle wedge peridotites underwent hydration by fluid derived from a dehydrated descending slab,and later interacted with seawater after emplacement at or near the *** study investigates how these two different rock-fluid interaction processes influenced trace element distribution in the southern Mariana forearc *** measured trace element concentrations of peridotites from the southern Mariana *** southern Mariana forearc peridotites are characterized by a distinct seawater-like REE pattern with an obvious negative Ce anomaly,and La shows good correlation with other REEs (except Ce).In addition,there is a great enrichment of U,Pb,Sr and Li elements,which show a distinct positive anomaly relative to adjacent elements in the multi-element *** the seawater-like REE pattern,we infer that REEs are mainly influenced by seawater during peridotite-seawater interactions after their emplacement at or near the seafloor,by serpentinization or by marine ***,the anomalous behavior of Ce,compared with other rare earth elements in these samples,may indicate that they have undergone reactions involving Ce (IV) when the peridotites interacted with *** U,Pb,Sr and Li anomalies are inferred to be related to seawater and/or fluids released during dehydration of the subducting slab.

Talc-bearing serpentinized peridotites from the southern Mariana forearc:implications for aseismic character within subduction zones

The serpentinized peridotites overlying the subducted zones in the Izu-Bonin-Mariana(IBM) arc system have been interpret as the cause of the low-velocity layer identified beneath the IBM froearc,in turn few earthquakes occurred along the plate ***,which is a low temperature and highly hydrated phase of serpentine with low frictional strength,has been suggested as the low velocity material in the serpentinized peridotites,besides,brucite is inferred to be likely conducive to stable ***,such idea encounters challenging in our serpentinized peridotites from the southern Mariana forearc,which absent both the above *** presence of talc,which characterized by its weak,low-friction and inherently stable sliding behavior,provides new *** we report the occurrence of talc in serpentinized peridotites collected from the landward trench slope of the southern Mariana *** infer that talc is mainly forming as a result of the reaction of serpentine minerals with silica-saturated fluids released from the subducting slab,and talc also occurs as talc veins *** to its unique physical properties,talc may therefore play a significant role in aseismic slip in the IBM subduction zone.

Fluid Inclusion and H-O Isotope Geochemistry of the Phapon Gold Deposit, NW Laos: Implications for Fluid Source and Ore Genesis

The Phapon gold deposit, located in northern Laos, is a unique large-scale gold deposit in Luang Prabang-Loei metallogenic belt. It is hosted in the Lower Permian limestone and controlled by a NE-trending ductile-brittle fault system. There are three types of primary ore including auriferous calcite vein type, disseminated type, and breccia type, and the first two are important in the Phapon gold deposit. Based on fluid inclusion petrography and microthermometry, three types of primary fluid inclusions including type 1 liquid-rich aqueous, type 2 vapor-rich aqueous and type 3 daughter mineralbearing aqueous were identified in hydrothermal calcite grains. The ore-forming fluids are normally homogeneous, as indicated by the widespread type 1 inclusions with identical composition. The coexistence of type 1 and type 2 inclusions, showing similar final homogenization temperature but different compositions, indicate that fluid immiscibility did locally take place in both two types of ores. The results of microthermometry and H-O isotopes geochemistry indicate that there are little differences on ore-fluid geochemistry between the auriferous calcite vein-type and disseminated type ores. The oreforming fluids are characterized by medium-low temperatures(157–268 oC) and low salinity(1.6 wt.%–9.9 wt.% NaCl eq.). It is likely to have a metamorphic-dominant mixed source, which could be associated with dehydration and decarbonisation of Lower Permian limestone and Middle–Upper Triassic sandstones during the dynamic metamorphism. The fluid-wallrock interaction played a major role, and the locally occurred fluid-immiscible processes played a subordinate role in gold precipitation. Combined with the regional and ore deposit geology, and ore-fluid geochemistry, we suggest that the Phapon gold deposit is best considered to be a member of the epizonal orogenic deposit class.
