Determinants of Positive Mental Health in Adolescents–A Cross-Sectional Study on Relationships between Positive Mental Health, Self-Esteem, Character Strengths and Social Inclusion

Adolescence is a crucial time period with especial vulnerability for development of mental health *** interest is focusing on the determinants of positive mental health in order to find the key concepts that could be influenced in the promotion of mental well-being of *** this study we aim to explore the relations between self-esteem,character strengths and experience of social inclusion as determinants of adolescents’positive mental health controlled for selected sociodemographic background *** study population(n=195)consisted of comprehensive school students who filled in an electronic questionnaire of adolescent’s mental well-being in Fall *** questionnaire included measures of Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale(WEMWBS),VIA Youth-measure 96,Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Experience of Social Inclusion *** methods included group comparisons and General Linear Model computed by SPSS *** strongest association was found between positive mental health and self-esteem(β=0.789,p<0.001),followed by character strengths of hope and kindness and experience of social ***,family’s socioeconomic factors did not associate significantly with positive mental health in the final statistical *** terms of our results,it seems that self-esteem,character strengths and experience of social inclusion might have stronger association with adolescents’mental well-being than family’s socioeconomic ***,it should be discussed whether psychological determinants overcome the individual effect of poor socioeconomic status as factors that influence positive mental *** studies are needed to establish these results more firmly.

Success of the organization is only success so far without the appropriate competence. Therefore, the finnish Defence Forces will also need professional and motivated individuals both now and in the future. The variable, interdependent, and complex environment has set totally new requirements for future＇s officers1. The finnish cadets＇ selection process plays a crucial role, because the finnish Defence Forces educate and train all the officers by itself. By means of the student selection will be made decisions whose influences have long temporal dimension, The officers who graduate from the finnish National Defence University will build up the tomorrow＇s finnish Defense Forces. In this paper, it will address the quality and functionality of the finnish Defence University＇s student selection processes as part of competence and knowledge management from the organization＇s point of view2. Because of overall changes of society and the security environment, the finnish officers＇ education and training system （see Figure 1） has been modified frequently during the few recent years. Both the reforms of the degree programs of Military Science and the finnish higher education culture＇s modifications have been tried to notice during the analysis. The paper is based on the author＇s doctoral thesis that is compiling at the moment.

The sustainable use of renewable resources has become an important issue worldwide in the move towards a less fossil-fuel-intensive *** method for fulfilling this aim is to increase the share of renewable energy and materials to substitute fossil fuels and to become fully independent from fossil fuels over the ***, the environmental sustainability of this endeavor has been *** addition,economic and social sustainability issues are also much debated topics in this particular *** resources are often thought to contribute partially to achieving a so-called ＂carbon-neutral society＂.In this review, we discuss sustainability issues of using forest *** present several sustainability indicators for ecological,economic and social dimensions and discuss the issues in applying them in sustainability impact assessments（SIAs）.We also present a number of tools and methods previously used in conducting *** approach our study from the perspective of the finnish forestry; in addition, various aspects regarding the application of SIAs in a broader context are also *** of the key conclusions of the study is that although sufficient data are available to measure many indicators accurately, the impacts may be very difficult to assess（*** of greenhouse gases on biodiversity） for conducting a holistic ***, some indicators, such as ＂biodiversity＂, are difficult to quantify in the first ***, a mix of different methods, such as Multi-criteria Assessment, Life-cycle Assessment or Cost-Benefit Analysis, as well as different approaches（*** and strong/weak sustainability） are needed in aggregating the results of the *** are important in supporting and improving the acceptability of decision-making, but a certain degree of uncertainty will always have to be tolerated.

AIM:To investigate the association between serum antibody levels and a subsequent celiac disease diag-nosis in a large series of children and adults. METHODS:Besides subjects with classical gastrointestinal presentation of celiac disease,the study cohort included a substantial number of individuals with extraintestinal symptoms and those found by screening in at-risk *** 405 patients underwent clinical,serological and histological *** collection of data,the antibody values were further graded as low[endomysial(EmA)1:5-200,transglutaminase 2 antibodies(TG2-ab)5.0-30.0 U/L]and high (EmA 1:≥500,TG2-ab≥30.0 U/L),and the serological results were compared with the small intestinal mucosal histology and clinical presentation. RESULTS:In total,79%of the subjects with low and 94%of those with high serum EmA titers showed small-bowel mucosal villous ***, 96%of the 47 EmA positive subjects who had normal mucosal villi and remained on follow-up either subsequently developed mucosal atrophy while on a glutencontaining diet,or responded positively to a glutenfree diet. CONCLUSION:Irrespective of the initial serum titers or clinical presentation,EmA positivity as such is a very strong predictor of a subsequent celiac disease diagnosis.

Prediction Method of Ice Resistance and Propulsion Power for Polar Ships

Polar ships need to meet stringent safety and environmental *** those ships are classified by diferent ice classes based on ice operation ***,the polar ships are also trapped by severe ice condition due to low propulsion ***,it is a realistic question to design the appropriate minimum propulsion power for ice *** paper focuses on the ice resistance and its related propulsion power for the ships with polar code(PC)*** consideration of seven typical polar ice conditions related to the PC rule of International Association of Classification Societies(IACS),a prediction method of ice resistance is developed by Lindqvist's *** results are compared with those of Lindqvist's model and Riska's model by using two real ship *** comparison among propulsion requirements of representative classification societies is made,and a formula of minimum propulsion power is presented on the basis of ice resistance by revised finnish-Swedish Ice Class Rules(FSICR)*** results are verified by the actual values from seven ice class ships.A relatively good agreement is *** a conclusion,the presented prediction method of ice resistance and minimum propulsion power is recommended for evaluation of ice resistance and its related propulsion power during the process of developing polar ships.

The joint European Space Agency and Chinese Academy of Sciences Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission will explore global dynamics of the magnetosphere under varying solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field conditions,and simultaneously monitor the auroral response of the Northern Hemisphere *** these large-scale responses with medium and fine-scale measurements at a variety of cadences by additional ground-based and space-based instruments will enable a much greater scientific impact beyond the original goals of the SMILE ***,we describe current community efforts to prepare for SMILE,and the benefits and context various experiments that have explicitly expressed support for SMILE can offer.A dedicated group of international scientists representing many different experiment types and geographical locations,the Ground-based and Additional Science Working Group,is facilitating these *** include constructing an online SMILE Data Fusion Facility,the discussion of particular or special modes for experiments such as coherent and incoherent scatter radar,and the consideration of particular observing strategies and spacecraft *** anticipate growing interest and community engagement with the SMILE mission,and we welcome novel ideas and insights from the solar-terrestrial community.

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) catalyse the hydration of C02 to bicarbonate at physiological pH. This chemical interconversion is crucial since HCO3- is the substrate for several biosynthetic reactions. This review is focused on the distribution and role of CA isoenzymes in both normal and pathological gastrointestinal (GI) tract tissues. It has been known for many years that CAs are widely present in the GI tract and play important roles in several physiological functions such as production of saliva, gastric acid, bile, and pancreatic juice as well as in absorption of salt and water in intestine. New information suggests that these enzymes participate in several processes that were not envisioned earlier. Especially, the recent reports on plasma membrane-bound isoenzymes IX and XII have raised considerable interest since they were reported to participate in cancer invasion and spread. They are induced by tumour hypoxia and may also play a role in von Hippel-Lindau (VHL)-mediated carcinogenesis.

Elevating public awareness of waste management at the household level is a cost effective and a win-win social, economic and environmental approach on the table of policymaking. Modern and effective waste management bring about broader economic efficiency and social equity, mitigate consumerism, thus, promoting the conservation of natural resources. In this article, a survey study was conducted among the citizens of Wrocław city, Poland. The city is dynamic, touristic, and industrial. Through random sampling, 160 respondents filled in the questionnaire. The results revealed that the participants appeared aware of the benefits of waste management (WM);however the current WM systems and infrastructures are not very satisfying. The participants identified several shortcomings in the current WM systems such as the lack of sufficient colored bins for glass recycling, overfilled bins and heavy lids, and irregular waste collection system. The study proposes a public-oriented outreach campaign targeting waste separation and less-waste behaviors as economically and environmentally beneficial, accompanied by continuous development of WM regulations and infrastructures and linked it to waste-to-energy systems and technologies to assist in achieving the long-term energy and emissions-reduction targets.
