BACKGROUND Glucocorticoid modulatory element-binding protein 1(GMEB1),which has been identified as a transcription factor,is a protein widely expressed in various ***,the dysregulation of GMEB1 is linked to the genesis and development of multiple *** To explore GMEB1’s biological functions in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and figuring out the molecular *** GMEB1 expression in HCC tissues was analyzed employing the starBase *** staining,Western blotting and quantitative realtime PCR were conducted to examine GMEB1 and Yes-associate protein 1(YAP1)expression in HCC cells and *** counting kit-8 assay,Transwell assay and flow cytometry were utilized to examine HCC cell proliferation,migration,invasion and apoptosis,*** JAsPAR database was employed for predicting the binding site of GMEB1 with YAP1 ***-luciferase reporter gene assay and chromatin immunoprecipitation-qPCR were conducted to verify the binding relationship of GMEB1 with YAP1 promoter *** GMEB1 was up-regulated in HCC cells and tissues,and GMEB1 expression was correlated to the tumor size and TNM stage of HCC ***1 overexpression facilitated HCC cell multiplication,migration,and invasion,and suppressed the apoptosis,whereas GMEB1 knockdown had the opposite ***1 bound to YAP1 promoter region and positively regulated YAP1 expression in HCC *** GMEB1 facilitates HCC malignant proliferation and metastasis by promoting the transcription of the YAP1 promoter region.

Innovations in endoscopy have brought about some impressive improvements in diagnosing and treating gastroesophageal reﬂux disease(GERD).GERD,as one of the most prevalent gastrointestinal disorders in the world,has always been on the cutting edge of endoscopic interventions.A primary diagnosis of GERD is based on symptoms and an initial trial of proton-pump inhibitor(PPI)therapy,which is devoid of adequately instructive value for therapeutic *** and optional biopsies can be used to directly observe and determine the abnormal structural and pathophysiological damage in the *** emergence of minimally invasive endoscopic therapyﬁlls the gap between patients who are reluctant or insensitive to PPIs and candidates who are not indicated for surgical anti-reﬂux *** this review,we discuss the utility of endoscopy and biopsy in patients with persistent GERD-related manifestations after proper medical anti-reﬂux ***,we portray a landscape of four current endoscopic GERD therapies and clarify the merits and disadvantages of each *** research needs to concentrate on stratifying GERD patients based on personal conditions and elucidating the primary pathophysiology of GERD.

Hepatitis A virus(HAV)live-attenuated vaccine H2 strain has been approved for clinical use for decades with ideal safety profiles in nonhuman primate models and ***,type Ⅰ interferon(IFN)receptor-deficient mice were shown to be susceptible to HAV ***,we sought to determine the infection and replication dynamics of the H2 in Ifnar^(-/-)mice that lack type Ⅰ IFN *** intravenous injection,the H2 failed to cause obvious clinical symptoms in Ifnar^(-/-)mice,and no significant upregulation in serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels was ***,the histopathological examination showed that there were significant focal infiltrations of lymphocytes and neutrophils in the portal area,but no focal necrosis was observed in liver *** RNAs sustained in the liver,and the infectious virus could be recovered from the liver tissue until 42 days *** importantly,H2 infection induced obvious viremia and persistent viral shedding in *** addition,robust HAV-specific humoral immune responses were induced in Ifnar^(-/-)***,our study revealed the safety profile of H2 in Ifnar^(-/-)mice,which not only helps understand the attenuation mechanism of H2,but also expands the application of the Ifnar^(-/-)mouse model for HAV studies.

To the Editor: Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), characterized by a sudden onset of unilateral painless visual loss and a swollen optic disc, is the most common form of acute optic neuropathy in patients over 50 years of age.[1] The pathogenesis of NAION remains unclear, but most histopathological studies support the concept of vasculopathic occlusion in the region of the short posterior ciliary arteries.[2] Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is one of the most widely used non-invasive techniques for measuring brain function over time in vivo. To the best of our knowledge, only one study has investigated the effects of stimulating the affected eye in the extra-visual areas in NAION in humans.[3]However, this previous study only examined task-state fMRI, and lacked a measure of resting-state fMRI (rs-fMRI). Thus, it remains unclear whether regional spontaneous brain changes are limited to the visual system.
