This is the author’s second consecutive year of doing the *** the economy of China is booming,there is a rapid increase in the number of foreign students coming to The university of hong kong to learn *** chinese is one of the popular subjects for them to choose,in 2019,there are around 1000 foreign students(undergraduates or exchange students)learning chinese as a foreign language course.A language teacher is a facilitator and an instructor of chinese learning for foreign ***,in the real world,there are always some good language learners and some less talented language learners in one ***,what is the secret of the good chinese learners?What can the language instructors do in order to support good chinese learners and help the less talented learners to learn chinese?In the TESOL field,there are a lot of researches have been done by *** the early 1970s,several researchers isolated and defined the concept of good language *** in teaching chinese as a foreign language field,there are relatively fewer ***,from January 2017 to May 2019,I conducted a survey about good chinese learners in CHIN9503 and CHIN9504 *** survey consisted of an interview with several questions and the author will discuss the result of a survey and its implications in this *** research is done in a macro way rather than micro ***,this holistic research focuses on finding good chinese learners rather than focusing on learners’individual differences.

As an important and also expanding field,neuroscience has always occupied a significant portion in the teaching of medical and other paramedical courses in the chinese university of hong kong（CUHK）.However,before the curriculum reform of the medical course at CUHK about a decade ago,neuroscience topics were scattered in different traditional courses like anatomy,physiology,biochemistry and ***,neuroscience as a panel subject of the ’system-based’ medical curriculum is now taught as a fully independent *** of this integrated course come from all disciplines in the pre-clinical as well as clinical *** main advantage of this approach is the better integration of different aspects,*** and physiology,of a single *** repetition and contradiction are *** addition,students will have earlier exposure to clinically related *** didactic lectures are integrated with tutorials and laboratory sessions to achieve the best result.

The outcome of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) patients significantly differs between western and eastern population centers. Our group previously developed and validated the chinese university Prognostic Index(CUPI) for the prognostication of HCC among the Asian HCC patient population. In the current study, we aimed to validate the CUPI using an international cohort of patients with HCC and to compare the CUPI to two widely used staging systems, the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) classification and the Cancer of the Liver Italian Program(CLIP). To accomplish this goal, two cohorts of patients were enrolled in the United Kingdom(UK; n = 567; 2006-2011) and hong kong(HK; n = 517; 2007-2012). The baseline clinical data were recorded. The performances of the CUPI, BCLC, and CLIP were compared in terms of a concordance index(C-index) and were evaluated in subgroups of patients according to treatment intent. The results revealed that the median follow-up durations of the UK and HK cohorts were 27.9 and 29.8 months, respectively. The median overall survival of the UK and HK cohorts were 22.9 and 8.6 months, respectively. The CUPI stratified the patients in both cohorts into three risk subgroups corresponding to distinct outcomes. The median overall survival of the CUPI low-, intermediate-, and high-risk subgroups were 3.15, 1.24, and 0.29 years, respectively, in the UK cohort and were 2.07, 0.32, and 0.10 years, respectively, in the HK cohort. For the patients who underwent curative treatment, the prognostic performance did not differ between the three staging systems, and all were suboptimal. For those who underwent palliative treatment, the CUPI displayed the highest C-index, indicating that this staging system was the most informative for both cohorts. In conclusion, the CUPI is applicable to both western and eastern HCC patient populations. Purpose： The purpose of the study was to examine the psychometric properties of the chinese-translated Behavioral Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire-2 （C-BREQ-2） among chinese university students from the Mainland and hong kong of China. Methods： university students from the Mainland （n = 191） and hong kong （n=194） of China participated in this study. Factorial validity, discriminant validity, nomological validity, internal reliability, and measurement invariance across sample of the C-BREQ-2 were examined. Results： Confirmatory factor analysis provided support for the factorial validity of the 18-item, 5-factor structure C-BREQ-2. Examination of the 95% confidence interval of the inter-factor correlations suggested that the C-BREQ-2 assesses related but distinct constructs, which provided support for its discriminant validity. The internal consistency reliability of the C-BREQ-2 was found acceptable. Examination of the pattern of inter-factor correlations between different regulations suggested that a simplex-like pattern was displayed, which provided evidence for the nomological validity of C-BREQ-2. The results from multi-group confirmatory factor analysis suggested that the factor loadings and variances/ covariances of the C-BREQ-2 measurement model were invariant across the chinese university students in the Mainland and hong kong of China. Conclusion： The current study provided further psychometric evidence for the C-BREQ-2, which makes the further application and research of self-determination theory （SDT） based motivation in relation to exercise and physical activity in the Mainland of China context possible.

This study investigates the differences in pragmatic competence between hong kong and chinese mainland university *** included 19 native speakers of English,115 chinese mainland students,divided into those who had spent time abroad in an English-speaking country(CM A)and those who had not(CM NA),and 97 hong kong students,divided into those from an English-medium secondary school(hong kong EMI)and those from a chinese-medium school(hong kong CMI).Linguistic proficiency was measured by a C-test,and pragmatic competence by a Metapragmatic Knowledge Test,an Irony Test and a Monologic Role *** scores were compared using ANCOVAs to control for differences in *** results point to a continuum of pragmatic competence—EMI>CMI>CM A>CM NA—reflecting the groups’access to English in real-life *** differences between the hong kong groups and the chinese mainland groups were clearest in those tests measuring processing capacity(i.e.,Irony Response Time and the Monologic Role Play).CM A,but not CM NA,performed as well as the hong kong groups on measures of metapragmatic *** results are discussed in terms of Bialystok’s(1993)distinction between analyzed representation and control of processing.

Spatial memory is crucial for survival within external surroundings and wild *** hippocampus,a critical hub for spatial learning and memory formation,has received extensive investigations on how neuromodulators shape its functions(Teixeira et al.,2018;Zhang et al.,2024).However,the landscape of neuromodulations in the hippocampal system remains poorly understood because most studies focus on classical monoamine neuromodulators,such as acetylcholine,serotonin,dopamine,and *** neuropeptides,comprising the most abundant neuromodulators in the central nervous system,play a pivotal role in neural information processing in the hippocampal ***(CCK),one of the most abundant neuropeptides,has been implicated in regulating various physiological and neurobiological statuses(Chen et al.,2019).CCK-A receptor(CCK-AR)and CCK-B receptors(CCK-BR)are two key receptors mediating the biological functions of CCK,both of which belong to class-A sevenfold transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors(Nishimura et al.,2015).CCK-AR preferentially reacts to sulfated CCK,whereas CCK-BR binds both CCK and gastrin with similar affinities(Ding et al.,2022).The expression patterns of CCK-AR and CCK-BR are distinct,implying that CCK has various functions in target *** instance,CCK-AR is widely expressed in the GI and brain subregions and is hence implicated in the control of digestive function and satiety ***,CCK-BR is abundantly and widely distributed in the central nervous system,which majorly regulates anxiety,learning,and memory(Ding et al.,2022).However,the roles of endogenous CCK and CCK receptors in regulating hippocampal function at electrophysiological and behavioral levels have received less attention.
