Targeted regeneration and upcycling of spent graphite by defect‐driven tin nucleation

The recycling of spent batteries has become increasingly important owing to their wide applications,abundant raw material supply,and sustainable *** with the degraded cathode,spent anode graphite often has a relatively intact structure with few defects after long ***,most spent graphite is simply burned or discarded due to its limited value and inferior performance on using conventional recycling methods that are complex,have low efficiency,and fail in performance ***,we propose a fast,efficient,and“intelligent”strategy to regenerate and upcycle spent graphite based on defect‐driven targeted *** Sn as a nanoscale healant,we used rapid heating(~50 ms)to enable dynamic Sn droplets to automatically nucleate around the surface defects on the graphite upon cooling owing to strong binding to the defects(~5.84 eV/atom),thus simultaneously achieving Sn dispersion and graphite *** a result,the regenerated graphite showed enhanced capacity and cycle stability(458.9 mAh g^(−1) at 0.2 A g^(−1) after 100 cycles),superior to those of commercial *** from the self‐adaption of Sn dispersion,spent graphite with different degrees of defects can be regenerated to similar structures and *** analysis indicates that targeted regeneration and upcycling have significantly lower energy consumption(~99%reduction)and near‐zero CO_(2) emission,and yield much higher profit than hydrometallurgy,which opens a new avenue for direct upcycling of spend graphite in an efficient,green,and profitable manner for sustainable battery manufacture.

Dodecyl alcohol(DDA) is a promising solid-liquid phase change material(PCM) due to its favorable latent heat storage(LHS) ***,the leakage issue of PCM in a melted state during the heating period and low thermal conductivity restricts its utilization potential in thermal energy storage(TES) *** the same context,the present work aims to overcome the leakage issue and improve the thermal conductivity of the *** this in mind,a novel leak-proof layered double hydroxide(LDH)/DDA composite PCM is proposed through a solution-based impregnation *** leak-proof impregnation ratio of the DDA impregnated within the cavities of the synthesized Al/Fe-LDH was determined to be 60%.Detailed morphological,physicochemical,and thermal properties of the fabricated composite were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),thermalgravimetric analysis(TGA),and thermal cycling *** results show that the LDH/DDA composite has a suitable phase change temperature(about 20℃) for passive solar thermal management of building *** composite PCM showed high LHS enthalpy(about136 J/g),good thermal stability,and cycling LHS *** also showed nearly 152% higher thermal conductivity compared to that of pure DDA,ultimately reducing the melting and solidification time of the pure DDA by 44.9% and 45.5%,respectively.

Uncovering Chemical Interactions between Danshen and Danggui Using Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry and Network Pharmacology-Based Research on Stroke

Objective: The objective of this study was to decipher chemical interactions between Danshen and Danggui using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry(LC-MS) and explore the mechanisms of Danshen–Danggui against stroke using network pharmacology and molecular docking. materials and Methods: First, the chemical compounds of Danshen–Danggui were profiled using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)-quadrupole time-of-flight MS. Accurately characterized compounds in various proportions of Danshen–Danggui were quantified using HPLC combined with triple quadrupole electrospray tandem MS. Network pharmacology was used to uncover the essential mechanisms of action of Danshen–Danggui against stroke. Discovery Studio Software was used for the molecular docking verification of key active chemicals and stroke-related targets. Results: A total of 53 compounds were characterized, and 22 accurately identified constituents(10 phenolic acids, 8 phthalides, and 4 tanshinones) were quantified in 15 proportions of Danshen–Danggui. The quantification results showed that Danggui significantly increased the dissolution of most phenolic acids(compounds from Danshen), whereas Danshen promoted the dissolution of most phthalides(compounds from Danggui). Overall, the combination of Danshen and Danggui at a 1:1 ratio resulted in the maximum total dissolution rate. Further network pharmacology and molecular docking results indicated that Danshen–Danggui exerted anti-stroke effects mainly by regulating inflammation-related(tumor necrosis factor, hypoxia-inducible factor, and toll-like receptor) signaling pathways, which ranked among the top three pathways based on Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) enrichment analysis. Conclusion: The chemical compounds in Danshen–Danggui could interact with each other to increase the dissolution of the most active compounds, which could provide a solid basis for uncovering the compatibility mechanisms of Danshen–Danggui and Danshen–Danggu

To achieve a lower detection limit has always been a goal of analytical ***,we demonstrate the first picomolar level detection capability for Fe3+ion via luminescence detection *** results of structural analysis and theoretical calculation show that Fe3+ions are adsorbed on the central node of Eu-DBM(DBM=dibenzoylmethane)sensor in the form of single ion at ultralow ***,the pathways of photo-induced charge and energy transfer of the obtained Eu-DBM@Fe^(3+)material have been changed,from the initial DBM-to-Eu^(3+)before Fe^(3+)adsorption to the ultimate DBM-to-Fe^(3+)after adsorption process,which quenches the luminescence of Eu3+*** work not only obtains the highly sensitive luminescence detection ability,but also innovatively proposes the single-ion adsorption mechanism,both of which have important scientific and application values for the development of more efficient detection agents in the future.

Pressure manipulation of ultrafast carrier dynamics in monolayer WS2

Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs) have intriguing physic properties and offer an exciting platform to explore many features that are important for future devices. In this work, we synthesized monolayer WS2as an example to study the optical response with hydrostatic pressure. The Raman results show a continuous tuning of the lattice vibrations that is induced by hydrostatic pressure. We further demonstrate an efficient pressure-induced change of the band structure and carrier dynamics via transient absorption measurements. We found that two time constants can be attributed to the capture process of two kinds of defect states, with the pressure increasing from 0.55 GPa to 2.91 GPa, both of capture processes were accelerated, and there is an inflection point within the pressure range of 1.56 GPa to 1.89 GPa. Our findings provide valuable information for the design of future optoelectronic devices.

Centrifugal pumps are widely used in the metallurgy,coal,and building *** order to study the hydraulic characteristics of a closed impeller centrifugal pump during its shutdown in the so-called power frequency and frequency conversion modes,experiments were carried to determine the characteristic evolution of parameters such as speed,inlet and outlet pressure,head,flow rate and shaft power.A quasi-steady-state method was also used to further investigate these transient *** results show that,compared to the power frequency input,the performance parameter curves for the frequency conversion input are less volatile and *** characteristic time is longer and the response to shutdown is *** quasi-steady-state theoretical head-flow curves match the experimental head-flow curves more closely at low flow rates when the frequency conversion input is ***,in this case,the similarity law predicts the hydraulic performance more accurately.

Influence of Current Density on the Photocatalytic Activity of Nd:TiO_(2) Coatings

The Nd:TiO_(2 )PEO coatings were formed in a phosphate-based electrolyte with the addition of Nd_(2)O_(3 )under the current density of 150,200,250 and 300 m A/cm^(2).SEM results showed that the micropores decreased on quantity and increased on scale with the increasing current *** results revealed that the roughness of the coatings increased with the increasing current *** and composition analysis showed that the Nd:TiO_(2) coatings were mainly composed of anatase and rutile *** the anatase phase content has reached the maximum value at the current density of 250 m A/cm^(2).XPS results indicated that Ti2p spin-orbit components of the Nd:TiO_(2) coatings are shifted towards higher binding energy,compared with the pure TiO_(2) coating,suggesting that some of the Nd^(3+)ions are combined with TiO_(2) lattice and led to *** test showed that the photocatalytic activity of Nd:TiO_(2) coatings varied in the same pattern with the anatase content variation in Nd:TiO_(2) *** photocatalytic experiment results show that the photocatalytic activity of Nd:TiO_(2) coatings can be greatly enhanced with moderate amount of Nd^(3+).However,excessive amount of Nd^(3+)does not have an effective impact on the photoctalytic activity improvement.
