Microfacies and palaeoenvironments of late Cisuralian and Guadalupian(Early to Middle Permian) alatoconchid-bearing limestone in Loei fold belt, Indochina Terrane

This study presents the first record of Early Permian alatoconchid bivalves from Thailand, the Erawan section, in the north of Loei fold belt with prolific fusulines in association with gastropods, and brachiopods. Fusuline taxa are dominated by Pseudofusulina sp. with Darvasites sp., Staffella cf. labanalensis,Staffella sp., Nankinella sp., Neofusulinella sp., Schubertella sp., Pamirina darvasica, Pseudoendothyra *** others, indicating an Artinskian age. Fusuline wackestone with common, well-preserved smaller foraminifers, Pseudovermiporella sp. and ostracods indicates a restricted lagoon environment with low to moderate water circulation. These fossils, along with well-preserved, articulated alatoconchids in life-position,suggest the autochthonous nature of the deposits in an intertidal *** the central part of the fold belt, the Pak Chong section exhibits intervals of alatoconchid biostromes and coquinites. Carbonate build-ups of the alatoconchid biostromes with gregarious bivalves, in life-position embedded in a micritic wackestone matrix, suggest their preferred life habit and environment. The bivalve coquinites containing packed bivalve shells and fragments, however, indicate a high-energy event. This rock fabric along with common fusuline storm sheets suggests occasional storm events in a restricted, with moderate water circulation to open lagoon environment. Fusulines are predominated by staffellids and others including Staffella sphaerica, Staffella sp., Sphaerulina croatica, Pisolina subsphaerica, Nankinella sp.,Neoschwagerina simplex, Presumatrina sp., Afghanella sp. and others, indicating a Wordian(Middle Permian)*** the southern portion of the fold belt along the Thai-Cambodian border, the Khao Taa Ngog section contains limestone with alatoconchid shells with massive rugose corals which formed local carbonate build-ups in high-energy open platform environments. Nitrogen oxide(NO_(x))is one of the most critical contaminants in the air,and the control of NO_(x)emission from diesel vehicles is very ***-based small-pore zeolites have already been applied for NO_(x)abatement on diesel *** the small-pore zeolites,Cu-SSZ-50 catalysts with good NH_(3)-SCR catalytic activity were believed to have potential for *** this study,a one-pot synthesis method for Cu-SSZ-50 catalysts was developed for the first time,using the co-templates of Cu-TEPA and 2,6-dimethyl-N-methylpyridinium *** this synthesis method,Cu-SSZ-50 with various Cu contents can be obtained by adjusting the amount of Cu-TEPA without the need for a further after-treatment *** addition of Cu-TEPA affected the framework atoms and Cu species,and a lower Si/Al ratio and more SCR active Cu species were *** synthesized catalyst with a Cu/Al ratio of 0.40 exhibited over 90%NO_(x)conversion between 200℃and 450℃for the selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x)with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR).Meanwhile,over 80%NO_(x)conversion could be obtained from 250℃to 450℃after hydrothermal aging at 750℃for 16 *** addition,both L-H and E-R mechanisms were proven to exist for the one-pot-synthesized Cu-SSZ-50 by in situ DRIFTS *** simple synthesis procedure,excellent catalytic activity and hydrothermal stability brighten the prospects for the application of Cu-SSZ-50.

In-situ sludge reduction based on Mn^(2+)-catalytic ozonation conditioning:Feasibility study and microbial mechanisms

To improve the sludge conditioning efficiency without increasing the ozone dose,an in-situ sludge reduction process based on Mn^(2+)-catalytic ozonation conditioning was *** ozone conditioning alone as a control,a lab-scale sequencing batch reactor coupled with ozonated sludge recycle was evaluated for its operating performance at an ozone dose of 75 mg O_(3)/g VSS and 1.5 mmol/L Mn^(2+)*** results showed a 39.4%reduction in MLSS and an observed sludge yield of 0.236 kg MLSS/kg COD for the O_(3)+Mn^(2+)group compared to the O_(3)group (15.3%and 0.292 kg MLSS/kg COD),accompanied by better COD,NH_(4)^(+)-N,TN and TP removal,improved effluent SS and limited impact on excess sludge ***,activity tests,BIOLOG ECO microplates and 16S rRNA sequencing were applied to elucidate the changing mechanisms of Mn^(2+)-catalytic ozonation related to microbial action:(1) Dehydrogenase activity reached a higher peak.(2) Microbial utilization of total carbon sources had an elevated effect,up to approximately 18%,and metabolic levels of six carbon sources were also increased,especially for sugars and amino acids most pronounced.(3) The abundance of Defluviicoccus under the phylum Proteobacteria was enhanced to 12.0%and dominated in the sludge,they had strong hydrolytic activity and metabolic *** bacteria of the genus Ferruginibacter also showed an abundance of 7.6%,they contributed to the solubilization and reduction of sludge *** results could guide researchers to further reduce ozonation conditioning costs,improve sludge management and provide theoretical support.

The selective oxidation of cyclohexane is a promising green route for the production of KA oil(cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone),but remains a huge challenge to design high-performing heterogeneous catalysts under mild ***,a pure silica ZSM-12(MTW topology)zeolite was applied as the support to immobilize highly dispersive tetrahedrally coordinated vanadium(V)species and the constructed catalyst 1%V/SZ-12 exhibited high efficiency in the fast and selective oxidation of cyclohexane into cyclohexanone with H_(2)O_(2).The reaction completed within 30 s,affording the selectivity of 99%towards cyclohexanone and the extremely high turnover frequency(TOF)of 5,891 h^(-1).1%V/SZ-12 was facilely reused with stable activity and feasibly extended to the oxidation of various cyclohexane *** one-dimensional 12-membered ring microchannels contributed to the formation and accessibility of tetrahedrally coordinated high valent V5+species as the robust active centers,which activated H_(2)O_(2) to generate V–O–O·,the active oxygen species for the electrophilic attack on cyclohexane to produce cyclohexanone as the sole product.

Extreme events have become increasingly frequent worldwide which are reflected in diverse changes in the shape of the temperature probability density ***,few studies have paid attention to the heterogeneity of temperature at the scale of climate ***,we use the ERA5-land data set to explore interdecadal summer temperature changes and the distribution across different climate zones from 1981 to *** the minimum(Tmin)and maximum(Tmax)temperature of 1982–1991 and 2010–2019,the results imply that Tmin and Tmax in summer maintained a notable upward trend over the past 40 years,especially *** effects of a simple shift toward a warmer climate contributed most to all climate zones,while the standard deviation,skewness and kurtosis had minor effects on extreme temperature except for *** analysis shows that the probability of extreme events in all climate zones is increasing in frequency and intensity,especially Tmin and Tmax in temperate climate *** diverse reasons for climate change can assist us with taking different measures to address extreme climate in distinct climate zones.

Changing climate intensifies heat stress,resulting in a greater risk of workplace productivity decline in timber office buildings with low internal thermal *** impact of climate change induced heat exposure on indoor workplace productivity in timber office buildings has not been extensively ***,further investigation to reduce the work capacity decline towards the end of the century is ***,heat exposure in a net zero-carbon timber building near Brussels,Belgium,was evaluated using a reproducible comparative approach with different internal thermal mass *** analysis indicated that strategies with increased thermal mass were more effective in limiting the effects of heat exposure on workplace *** medium and high thermal mass strategies reduced workplace productivity loss to 0.1%in the current,0.3%and 0.2%in the midfuture,and 4.9%and 3.9%for future *** comparison,baseline with low thermal mass yielded a decline of 2.3%,3.3%,and 8.2%.The variation in maximum and minimum wet-bulb globe temperatures were also lower for medium and high thermal mass strategies than for low thermal mass *** study findings lead to the formulation of design guidelines,identification of research gaps,and recommendations for future work.

We have found recently that two-step intrinsic hydroxyl radical(·OH)-dependent chemiluminescence(CL)could be produced by carcinogenic tetrahaloquinone and H_(2)O_(2).However,the first-step CL was too fast to clearly detect the stepwise generation of·OH and CL,and to distinguish the exact dividing point between the first-step and second-step *** we found that,extremely clear two-step intrinsic CL could be produced by the relative slow reaction of tetrabromohydroquinone(TBHQ)with H_(2)O_(2),which was directly dependent on the two-step·OH ***,the second-step,but not the first-step CL production of TBHQ/H_(2)O_(2)(CRET donor)was markedly enhanced by fluorescein(a typical xanthene dye,CRET acceptor)through a unique chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer(CRET)*** novel CRET system of TBHQ/H_(2)O_(2)/fluorescein was successfully applied for the sensitive detection of TBHQ with the detection limit as low as 2.5μmol/*** findings will help to develop more sensitive and highly efficient CL or CRET systems and specific CL sensor to detect the carcinogenic haloquinones,which may have broad environmental applications.
