Continental Flood Basalts(CFB)occupy one fourth of the world’s land ***,it is important to discern the hydrological processes in this complex hydrogeological setup for the sustainable water resources development.A model assisted isotope,geochemical,geospatial and geophysical study was conducted to understand the monsoonal characteristics,recharge processes,renewability and geochemical evolution in one of the largest continental flood basalt provinces of *** modelling and stable isotopes were used to assess the monsoonal *** distillation model were used to understand the climatic conditions at the time of groundwater *** parameter models(LPM)were employed to quantify the mean transit time(MTT)of *** and geochemical models were adopted to understand the geochemical evolution along the groundwater flow path.A geophysical model was used to understand the geometry of the *** back trajectory analysis confirms the isotopic finding that precipitation in this region is caused by orographic uplifting of air masses originating from the Arabian *** isotopic data of groundwater showed its meteoric origin and two recharge processes were discerned;(i)quick and direct recharge by precipitation through fractured and weathered basalt,(ii)low infiltration through the clayey black cotton soil and subjected to evaporation prior to the *** data showed that the groundwater is a renewable source and have shorter transit times(from present day to<30 years).The hydrogeochemical study indicated multiple sources/processes such as:the minerals dissolution,silicate weathering,ion exchange,anthropogenic influences *** the chemistry of the *** on the geo-electrical resistivity survey,the potential zones(weathered and fractured)were delineated for the groundwater ***,the study highlights the usefulness of model assisted isotopic hydrogeochemical techniques for underst

Ice cores play an important role in the reconstruction of historical atmospheric information. The glacier of the Tibetan Plateau is influenced by the Indian monsoon and westerly winds， which divide the Tibetan Plateau into monsoon- and westly influenced regions. These atmospheric circulations bring distinct microbial communities to glaciers， with the microbial dispersal process being also influenced by atmospheric factors. However， the potential influence of between bacterial abundance and atmospheric factors is not well known. To reveal potential mechanisms controlling bacterial abundance between two regions， we obtained bacterial abundance and atmospheric records for the past 46 years from two ice cores located within these regions. Statistical regression models were constructed to fit the relationship between bacterial abundance and atmospheric factors. Generalized additive model (GAM) was superior in modeling bacterial abundance compared with linear models and showed that the key factors affecting bacterial abundance were different in the monsoon- and westerly-dominated regions. Specifically， atmospheric dust and black carbon were the key factors for the monsoon-dominated region， and westerly index was the key factor for the westerly-dominated region. The model outputs confirm that atmospheric black carbon plays an important role in affecting bacterial abundance for the glacier located within the monsoon-dominated region， particularly in recent decades. The model also predicted that bacterial abundance will increase by 27% with a doubled black carbon deposition. We quantify and model for the first time that relationship between bacterial abundance and atmospheric black carbon in Tibetan glaciers change over time based on GAM models.

Background The long-term sequelae of COVID-19 in children and adolescents remain poorly understood and *** systematic review and meta-analysis sought to summarize the risk factors for long COVID in the pediatric *** We searched six databases from January 2020 to May 2023 for observational studies reporting on risk factors for long COVID or persistent symptoms those were present 12 or more weeks post-infection using multivariable regression *** registries,reference lists of included studies,and preprint servers were hand-searched for relevant ***-effects meta-analyses were conducted to pool odds ratios for each risk *** study risk of bias was rated using QUIPS,and the GRADE framework was used to assess the certainty of evidence for each unique *** Sixteen observational studies(N=46,262)were included,and 19 risk factors were amenable to *** moderate certainty in the evidence,age(per 2-year increase),allergic rhinitis,obesity,previous respiratory diseases,hospitalization,severe acute COVID-19,and symptomatic acute COVID-19 are probably associated with an increased risk of long *** sex,asthma,comorbidity,and heart diseases may be associated with an increased risk of long COVID,and Asian and black races may be associated with a decreased risk of long *** did not observe any credible subgroup effects for any risk *** The current body of literature presents several compelling risk factors for the development of long COVID in the pediatric *** research is necessary to elucidate the pathophysiology of long COVID.

Soil compaction leads to crop yield reduction in Northeast of *** interaction mechanism of driveragricultural machinery-black soil is not clear.A comprehensive field experiment of 4 hm2 of maize seeding was carried out in Baiquan County *** results showed that the average increase rates of soil compaction before and after sowing were 118.82%and 71.02%.The SEM showed that waist fatigue had the greatest impact on soil compaction,and the unit fatigue of waist caused 1.51 and 1.27 unit compactions to the soil at the depths of 10 cm and 20 *** neck,waist,arm and leg fatigue of drivers increased the surface soil compaction by 1.83,1.76,1.78 and 1.55 units,and the deep soil compaction by 1.65,1.58,1.60 and 1.40 *** results can provide a reference for the integration of human factor efficiency and conservation tillage.

Idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity accounts for many drug failures in the clinic and is a leading cause for black-boxed and withdrawn drugs. This toxicity has proven difficult to predict preclinically, but correlates with oxidative stress/reactive metabolites (OS/RM). As noted previously for antiepileptic compounds, many drugs causing idiosyncratic adverse drug effects are detected by OS/RM gene expression responses in the rat. In the present study, two immune activation models, low dose lipopolysaccharide (1 mg/kg IV) and 5% dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) in drinking water, were examined to determine if either would convert the non-toxic idiosyncratic toxicant carbamazepine (225 mg/kg) into a rat hepatotoxicant at 24 hours. Using the low dose LPS model, about 1/3 of the carbamazepine-treated rats either showed robust ALT and AST elevations with histopathological evidence of hepatotoxicity, or died. Rats in this LPS/carbamazepine group were subdivided based on ALT values into non-responders, responders or robust responders. Whereas most carbamazepine-induced mRNAs were repressed by LPS across all rats in this group, the OS/ RM genes aflatoxin aldehyde reductase (Afar) and glutathione transferase Ya (Gstya) were repressed only in the robust responder subgroup;it is unclear whether repression of these genes contributes to or results from hepatotoxicity. The OS/RM gene microsomal epoxide hydrolase (mEphx) showed repression across all rats. NAD(P)H: menadione oxidoreductase (Nmor) is an OS/RM-responsive gene that is also induced by LPS, confounding interpretation of its changes. After pretreatment with 5% DSS at 24 hours or for 5 days, using a protocol that reportedly produces increased endotoxin absorption, carbamazepine was not converted to a hepatototoxicant in any rats. Instead, DSS produced a pronounced (2- to 6-fold) and selective potentiation of carbamazepine induction of OS/RM-responsive mRNAs. Effects of CaCl2, CuCl2, ZnCl2 and PbCl2 on development and hatching success of eggs of Folsomia candida （Collembola） were studied under laboratory conditions. Thousands of healthy eggs from synchronized cultures were incubated in soils treated with different concentrations of the metals. Compared with the water control, egg hatch significantly decreased when concentrations of Cu, Pb and Zn reached 400, 1 600 and 800 mg/kg dry soil, respectively. Values of EC50（hatching）, calculated according to the exponential model （with 95% confidence limits in brackets）, were 625 （407-875）, 2 361 （2 064-2 687） and 1 763 （1 548-2 000） mg/kg dry soils for Cu, Pb and Zn, respectively. When Cu concentration reached 1 600 mg/kg dry soil, eggs became green and the percentage of green eggs changed from 5%-20% after incubation for 2 days to 15%- 30% after incubation for 4 days. At 3 200 mg Cu/kg dry soil, tissues inside eggs were black and shrunken.
