Objective: the purpose of this research was to examine the potential anticancer properties of Xiao Tan San Jie Fang(XTSJF) and its potential mechanism of action against colorectal cancer. Materials and Methods: HCT116 cells were induced into HCT116 spheres in DMEM/F12 medium by treatment with epidermal growth factor + fibroblast growth factor + leukemia inhibitory factor + B27. the proliferation ability and stemness of HCT116 spheres was examined. Various concentrations of XTSJF were used to treat HCT116 spheres to observe the impact on proliferation, apoptosis, and expression of stem cell markers. Next, Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related factor proteins were detected. Results: the findings revealed that XTSJF suppressed cell growth and induced cell death in HCT116 cells in a dosage-dependent manner. Similarly, XTSJF promotes apoptosis, inhibits cell proliferation, prolongs survival, and maintains the expression of stem cells through the Wnt/-catenin/TCF4 axis. XTSJF also inhibits AKT activity and subsequently activates glycogen synthesis kinase-3β expression, inhibiting Wnt/beta-catenin pathway activity and downstream target gene transcript expression. the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is inhibited by the XTSJF, leading to the suppression of colon cancer stem cell proliferation. Conclusion: Xiaotan Sanjie Prescription inhibited colon cancer stem cell growth through Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Clinical analysis of patients with deep sternal wound infection-induced sepsis:a retrospective cohort study

Background:this study aimed to summarize the clinical characteristics of patients with deep sternal wound infection-induced sepsis after median sternotomy and improve the treatment outcomes of infection-related ***:A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 21 patients with deep sternal wound infection-induced sepsis after median sternotomy who were admitted to the Department of Critical *** clinical manifestations,laboratory test results,infection control,and organ and nutritional support of the patients were summarized,and the follow-up data were ***:the primary symptoms of deep sternal wound infection-induced sepsis included dyspnea,high fever,chills,and altered state of *** test results revealed increased inflammatory markers and decreased oxygenation *** and liver function injury were observed in 8 and 4 patients,respectively;18 and 12 patients demonstrated elevated D-dimer and N-terminal Pro B type natriuretic peptide levels,*** the 8 patients whose wound secretions tested positive for bacteria,Acinetobacter baumannii and Staphylococcus aureus infections were present in 6 and 2 patients,*** of the 6 patients whose blood cultures tested positive for bacteria demonstrated Candida albicans *** patients received ventilator-assisted ventilation and 2 patients received renal replacement *** all the 21 patients,17 were cured,2 died,and 2 were ***:Postmedian sternotomy sepsis attributed to a deep sternal wound infection usually results from a preexisting *** most prominent clinical manifestation is dyspnea,which is sometimes accompanied by the impairment of organ *** prevention,proper nutrition support,and maintenance of healthy organ function are the cornerstones for successful treatment outcomes.

Purpose:In patients with heatstroke, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is associated with greater risk of in-hospital mortality. However, time-consuming assays or a complex diagnostic system may delay immediate treatment. therefore, the present study proposes a new heatstroke-induced coagulopathy (HIC) score in patients with heat illness as an early warning indicator for ***:this retrospective study enrolled patients with heat illness in 24 Chinese hospitals from March 2021 to May 2022. Patients under 18 years old, with a congenital clotting disorder or liver disease, or using anticoagulants were excluded. Data were collected on demographic characteristics, routine blood tests, conventional coagulation assays and biochemical indexes. the risk factors related to coagulation function in heatstroke were identified by regression analysis, and used to construct a scoring system for HIC. the data of patients who met the diagnostic criteria for HIC and International Society on thrombosis and Haemostasis defined-DIC were analyzed. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS ***:the final analysis included 302 patients with heat illness, of whom 131 (43.4%) suffered from heatstroke, including 7 death (5.3%). Core temperature (OR = 1.681, 95% CI 1.291 - 2.189, p thrombin time (OR = 1.427, 95% CI 1.175 - 1.733, p 5% CI 1.049 - 1.471, p = 0.012) were independent risk factors for heatstroke, and therefore used to construct an HIC scoring system because of their close relation with abnormal coagulation. A total score ≥ 3 indicated HIC, and HIC scores correlated with the score for International Society of thrombosis and Hemostasis-DIC (r = 0.8848, p the incidence of HIC (27.5%) was higher than that of DIC (11.2%) in all of 131 heatstroke patients. Four major studies(Checkmate577,Keynote-590,Checkmate649 and Attraction-4)of locally advanced esophageal cancer published in 2020 have established the importance of immunotherapy,represented by anti-programmed death protein(PD)-1 in postoperative adjuvant treatment and advanced first-line treatment of locally advanced or advanced esophageal cancer and esophagogastric junction cancer,from the aspects of proof of concept,long-term survival,overall survival rate and progression-free *** unresectable or inoperable nonmetastatic esophageal cancer,concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy is the standard treatment recommended by various *** its curative effect is still not ideal,it is necessary to explore radical radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the future,and it is considered to be promising to combine them with immunotherapeutic drugs such as *** paper mainly discusses how to combine radical concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy with immunotherapy for unresectable local advanced esophageal cancer.
