BACKGROUND Extracorporeal shock wave therapy(EsWT)is increasingly being recognized as an advantageous alternative for treating non-union due to its efficacy and minimal associated ***-union following Bernese periacetabular osteotomy(PAO)is particularly challenging,with a reported 55%delayed union and 8%***,we highlight a unique case of ischial non-union post-PAO treated successfully with a structured EsWT *** sUMMARY A 50-year-old patient,diagnosed with left ischial non-union following the PAO,underwent six cycles of EsWT treatment across ten *** cycle,spaced four weeks apart,consisted of five consecutive EsWT sessions without *** X-ray follow-ups showed progressive disappearance of the fracture line and fracture *** patient ultimately achieved a satisfactory asymptomatic recovery and bone *** The results from this case suggest that this EsWT regimen can be a promising non-invasive treatment strategy for non-union following PAO.

Impact of pancreatic and biliary stent on post-endoscopic papillectomy complications: A single-center retrospective study

Background: Endoscopic papillectomy (EP) is recommended as the first-line therapy for ampullary tumors, despite a relatively high incidence of complications. Pancreatic and/or biliary stents are placed at the endoscopist’s discretion to prevent post-EP complications. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of different ***: A total of 117 patients who underwent EP and met the criteria between June 2006 and October 2022 were enrolled in the study. These patients were divided into a pancreatic stent group (Ps group,n = 47), a biliary stent group (Bs group,n = 38), and a two-stent group (PBs [Ps and Bs] group,n = 32). Relevant clinical data were collected and compared among the three groups. Multivariate logistic analyses were performed to explore risk factors for post-EP ***: The incidence of all complications was 37.6% (44/117). Pancreatitis and hemorrhage were the two most common complications with incidence rates of 14.5% (17/117) and 17.9% (21/117). The incidence rates of post-EP pancreatitis were 10.6% (5/47), 23.7% (9/38), and 9.4% (3/32) in the Ps group, Bs group, and PBs group, respectively, with no significant differences. There were also no significant differences in other complications among the three groups. Age (odds ratio [OR]: 0.95; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.91-0.99;P = 0.022) was independently associated with post-EP pancreatitis while tumor size (OR: 1.66; 95% CI: 1.06-2.60;P = 0.028) was independently associated with post-EP ***: While pancreatic stenting is the first choice to prevent post-EP pancreatitis, biliary stenting could also be considered as a substitute for patients with difficulties in pancreatic cannulation. Two-stent (biliary and pancreatic stent) placement is unnecessary unless it is required due to other concerns.

Anticancer platinum prodrugs that can be controllably activated are highly desired for personalized precision medicine and patient compliance in cancer ***,the clinical application of platinum(Ⅳ)prodrugs(Pt(Ⅳ))is restricted by tissue penetration of external ***,we report a novel Pt(Ⅳ)activation strategy based on endogenous luminescence of tumor microenvironment responsiveness,which completely circumvents the limitation of external *** designed Pt(Ⅳ)–Lu,a mixture of trans,trans,trans-[Pt(N_(3))_(2)(OH)_(2)(py)_(2)]and luminol(Lu),has controllable activation property:it remains inert in reductant environment and normal tissues,but under tumor microenvironment,Lu will be oxidized to produce blue luminescence,which rapidly reduce Pt(Ⅳ)to Pt(Ⅱ)without the need of any external ***(Ⅳ)–Lu shows excellent responsive antitumor ability both in vitro and in *** to cisplatin,the median lethal dose in BALB/c mice increased by an order of *** results suggest that Pt(Ⅳ)–Lu exhibits highly controllable activation property,superior antitumor activity,and good biosafety,which may provide a novel strategy for the design of platinum prodrugs.

In order to achieve high accuracy measurement for non-landing vehicle-mounted photoelectric theodolite(NVPT) with continuous zoom optical system, a theoretical model of pointing error is presented. starting with the working mode, the error source of the whole closed loop which affects the pointing error is analyzed. The measurement equation is derived using a coordinate transformation. The pointing error model is then obtained with the help of Monte Carlo method. The error of an NVPT prototype is measured, showing that the pointing error can be predicted accurately. A high precision NVPT with continuous zoom optical system is successfully designed and analyzed, with an accuracy of 11.9″ at azimuth and 10.9″ at elevation, when the optical focal length is set between 1 000 mm and 4 000 mm.
