Thirty-two primiparous and 31 multiparous Alpine goats were used to determine influences of diets varying in level and source of forage on performance in early to mid-lactation for 16 wk. Diets consisted of 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% forage(designated as 40F, 50F, 60F, and 70F, respectively) with 60F and 70F containing coarsely ground grass hay(primarily orchardgrass) and 40F and 50F containing cottonseed hulls, alfalfa pellets, and coarsely ground wheat hay. Diets contained 15.9% to 16.3% crude protein and37.8%, 42.1%, 53.5%, and 55.4% neutral detergent fiber(NDF) with 10.0%, 15.8%, 50.1%, and 55.5% particle retention on a 19-mm sieve, and 26.1%, 29.6%, 38.3%, and 40.0% physically effective NDF(pe NDF) for 40F,50F, 60F, and 70F, respectively. Dry matter intake(2.71, 2.75, 1.96, and 1.95 kg/d) and milk yield(2.82,2.71, 2.23, and 2.10 kg/d for 40F, 50F, 60F, and 70F, respectively) were lower(P 0.05), but digestibility of NDF was greater(P 0.05) by diet and was lower(P 0.05) by diet or parity, but many interactions involving diet, period, hour, and parity were significant(P < 0.05). Tocotrienols are found in a variety of natural sources,like rice bran,annatto seeds and palm oil,and have been shown to have several health-promoting properties,particularly against chronic diseases such as *** incidence of cancer is rapidly increasing around the world,not only a result of continued aging and population growth,but also due to the adoption of aspects of the Western lifestyle,such as high-fat diets and low-physical *** literature provides strong evidence that tocotrienols are able to inhibit the growth of various cancers,including breast,lung,ovarian,prostate,liver,brain,colon,myeloma and pancreatic *** findings,along with the reported safety profile of tocotrienols in healthy human volunteers,encourage further research into these compounds’potential use in cancer prevention and *** current review provided detailed information about the molecular mechanisms of action of different tocotrienol isoforms in various cancer models and evaluated the potential therapeutic effects of different vitamin E analogues on important cancer hallmarks,such as cellular proliferation,apoptosis,angiogenesis and ***/PubMed and Scopus databases were used to identify recently published articles that investigated the anticancer effects of vitamin E derivatives in various types of cancer in vitro and in vivo along with clinical evidence of adjuvant chemopreventive *** an overview of pre-clinical studies,we describe several completed and ongoing clinical trials that are paving the way for the successful implementation of tocotrienols in cancer chemotherapy.

The study of a disturbed accretion disk holds great significance in the realm of astrophysics,as such events play a crucial role in revealing the nature of disk structure,the release of energy,and the generation of shock ***,they can help explain the causes of X-ray emissions observed in black hole accretion disk *** this paper,we perturb the stable disk formed by spherical accretion around Kerr and Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet(EGB)black *** perturbation reveals one-and two-armed spiral shock waves around the black *** find a strong connection between these waves and the black hole spin parameter(a/M)and the EGB coupling constant(α).Specifically,we find that asαincreases in the negative direction,the dynamics of the disk and the waves become more ***,we observe that the angular momentum of the perturbing matter significantly affects mass accretion and the oscillation of the arising shock *** allows us to observe changes in QPO frequencies,particularly,perturbations with angular momentum matching the observed C-type low-frequency QPOs of the GRS 1915+105 ***,we conclude that the possibility of the occurrence of shock waves within the vicinity of GRS 1915+105 is substantial.

For unachievable tracking problems, where the system output cannot precisely track a given reference, achieving the best possible approximation for the reference trajectory becomes the objective. This study aims to investigate solutions using the Ptype learning control scheme. Initially, we demonstrate the necessity of gradient information for achieving the best ***, we propose an input-output-driven learning gain design to handle the imprecise gradients of a class of uncertain systems. However, it is discovered that the desired performance may not be attainable when faced with incomplete *** address this issue, an extended iterative learning control scheme is introduced. In this scheme, the tracking errors are modified through output data sampling, which incorporates lowmemory footprints and offers flexibility in learning gain *** input sequence is shown to converge towards the desired input, resulting in an output that is closest to the given reference in the least square sense. Numerical simulations are provided to validate the theoretical findings.

The partial differential equation(PDE)solution of the telegrapher is a promising fault location method among time-domain and model-based *** research works have shown that the leap-frog process is superior to other explicit methods for the PDE ***,its implementation is challenged by determining the initial conditions in time and the boundary conditions in *** letter proposes two implicit solution methods for determining the initial conditions and an analytical way to obtain the boundary conditions founded on the signal *** results show that the proposal gives fault location accuracy superior to the existing leap-frog scheme,particularly in the presence of harmonics.

BACKGROUND Unroofed coronary sinus(UCS)is a rare subtype of atrial septal *** is frequently associated with a persistent left superior vena cava and is often part of a more intricate cardiac *** SUMMARY This report describes a rare case of an adolescent patient with UCS featuring atrial situs solitus,absence of the right superior vena cava and a persistent left superior vena cava draining into the left atrium consistent with total unroofing of the coronary *** was associated with concurrent severe mitral insufficiency secondary to redundant and prolapsing leaflets,and a substantial left-to-right shunt across the coronary sinus orifice.A comprehensive examination of the existing literature is included,shedding light on the diagnostic challenges of UCS and describing the available surgical options within the context of mitral valve *** UCS is a complex condition requiring careful consideration of associated anomalies and a tailored surgical approach.

We investigate how the accounting treatment of intangible assets on managers’likelihood of issuing voluntary earnings guidance(MEF).We find that unrecognized intangibles(immediately expensed)are negatively associated with MEF issuance,while recognized intangibles(capitalized)show a positive asso*** findings hold across various factors such as analysts’coverage,industry type and for a subsample that excludes software firms permitted to capitalize software development costs under SFAS *** additional,we investigate the cross-sectional determinants of MEF issuance based on the characteristics of firm *** find a significant increase in the likelihood of MEF issuance for higher unrecognized intangibles with greater earnings *** suggests that managers may prioritize delivering valuerelevant information to market participants to alleviate uncertainty.
