In software-defined networks(SDNs),controller placement is a critical factor in the design and planning for the future Internet of Things(IoT),telecommunication,and satellite communication *** research has concentrated largely on factors such as reliability,latency,controller capacity,propagation delay,and energy ***,SDNs are vulnerable to distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks that interfere with legitimate use of the *** ever-increasing frequency of DDoS attacks has made it necessary to consider them in network design,especially in critical applications such as military,health care,and financial services networks requiring high *** propose a mathematical model for planning the deployment of SDN smart backup controllers(SBCs)to preserve service in the presence of DDoS *** a number of input parameters,our model has two distinct ***,it determines the optimal number of primary controllers to place at specific locations or nodes under normal operating ***,it recommends an optimal number of smart backup controllers for use with different levels of DDoS *** goal of the model is to improve resistance to DDoS attacks while optimizing the overall cost based on the *** simulated results demonstrate that the model is useful in planning for SDN reliability in the presence of DDoS attacks while managing the overall cost.

Tropidophorus micropus van Lidth de Jeude, 1905, described from the upper Mahakkam River, Kalimantan, Indonesia, is here redescribed, based on new material from upper Baleh, Sarawak, East malaysia（Borneo）, collected after over 100 years. The new locality is ca. 94 km to the north of the type locality, and comprises a new national record.

In-vitro Cytotoxicity and Anti-microbial Evaluations of Silver Doped Titania Composite Coatings

Microbial adhesion is a main concern in the aspect of contamination especially in medical devices products. Titania coating on stainless steel substrate has been used as biomaterial application due to its non-toxicity, chemical stability and good mechanical properties. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of 1-3 wt% of silver doped titania (Ag/TiO2) composite coating on; (1) cell viability using in-vitro model, L929 mouse fibroblasts cells, and (2) effect of anti-microbial activity using in-vitro model, Staphylococcus aureus. In this work, 1-3 wt% of Ag doped TiO2 coatings were deposited on stainless steel substrate using RF magnetron sputtering system. Different coating deposition times (1 h, 2 h, 4 h and 6 h) were used. The assessment on cell viability showed that all materials are non toxic on L929 cells. MTT assay study showed more than 80% of cell viable at 200 mg/ml, 100mg/ml, 50 mg/mL and 25 mg/mL. The anti-microbial activity on 6 h deposited 2 wt% of Ag doped TiO2 coating exhibit 99.9% reduction of Staphylococcus aureus after 24 h incubation. From these evaluations, 6 h deposited 2 wt% of Ag doped TiO2 coating indicate as a non-toxic material with excellent anti-bacterial properties.

Decentralized Traffic Control Using Agents in Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (EPON)

Traditionally, allocating of Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) bandwidth schemes relied on a centralized architecture where their Optical Line Terminal (OLT) is the sole intelligent device with the capability for the arbitration of bandwidth based on time-division access for the upstream shared channel. However, any breakdown in the OLT bandwidth allocation will affect the allotment for Optical Network Units (ONUs). Few researches had dealt with a decentralized approach for the EPON and most of the solutions proposed involved additional cost by adding new complex devices to the original architecture. This paper proposes an intelligent decentralized mechanism in EPON that enhances the network performance using intelligent agents specification based on the IEEE 802.3 ah standards in the foundation for intelligent physical agent which is compatible with an Internet Protocol (IP)-based network. Specifically, this paper proposes a novel distributed scheme that supports differentiated services and ensures QoS for both Inter-and Intra- ONU allocation. The proposed mechanism introduces a unique direct communication between the ONUs supported by identical dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithms running simultaneously in each ONU. In addition to being fully distributed, the proposed scheme is asynchronous, scalable, and dynamic with flexibility and reliability in handling data, voice and video.

＜正＞ The paper presents measurements taken with a multiphase flow meter based on neural net methodology at the National Engineering Laboratory and Institute Francais Petrole multiphase test loops and an offshore smart satellite production platform operated by Sarawak Shell berhad malaysia. The paper also contains a review of the state of the art of multiphase metering technology and an appraisal of potential sources of error inherent in different technologies. The method provides the basis of a multiphase flow meter which can be used under a wide range of operating conditions in oil and gas production lines by tuning against field references.

Background:Habitat degradation is known to have a major impact on the composition of bird communities,yet how these communities recover following such disturbance is less *** study examined bird community changes from pre-logging to recovery over the course of habitat disturbance caused by the development of the Hulu Terengganu Hydroelectric Dam Project in Peninsular malaysia,between 2007 and *** surveys were conducted using point count observations and mist netting in the dam area from the prelogging phase until the operation ***:It was observed that while bird species significantly declined after large-scale habitat clearance between the pre-logging and construction phases,they showed positive signs of recovery from the inundation to operation *** findings indicate that the bird community is still recovering,and the permanent loss of habitat required by most of the original species has not occurred,as evidenced by *** species composition differed across phases due to varying habitat *** turnover rate and immigration rate(recolonisation and newly recorded species)were higher between the construction and operation *** was also observed that insectivorous birds were more heavily affected than others by changes to the landscape,which highlights the versatility,survivability and tolerance of certain species to extreme disturbance and habitat ***:Although the operation phase showed an incremental change in bird species richness due to recolonisation and newly recorded species,this value remains far from that of the pre-logging *** predict that bird species recovery will continue to increase for some time before reaching a plateau among the newly created islands,reservoir and catchment area of the dam.

Effect of Preparation Method on the Physicochemical Properties of MoVNbTe Catalyst for Propane Ammoxidation to Acrylonitrile

MoVNbTe catalyst has been found to be the most active and selective catalyst in the ammoxidation of propane to ACN, the selective oxidation of propane to acrylic acid and in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene. However, in our previous work, when 0.5 mL of MoVNbTe catalyst prepared using slurry method was tested in the propane ammoxidation to ACN, it only shows 1% conversion of propane with about 55% selectivity to CAN, thus giving only 0.6% yields to ACN. The poor catalyst activity is attributed to insufficient formation of crystalline phases essential for the propane activation process. In an attempt to improve the physicochemical properties of this catalyst, several preparation methods have been used, namely hydrothermal, reflux, changing the solvent and changing the calcinations temperature. The modified catalysts have been characterized using X-Ray Diffraction （XRD） and N2 physisorption （BET）. The MoVNbTe catalyst prepared by hydrothermal method shows a remarkable improvement in the formation of crystalline phases.

Investigation on the pre-compensation and post-compensation cascaded multi-channel-chirped fiber Bragg gratings for a repeaterless transmission system

We experimentally designed dispersion-managed repeaterless transmission systems with a pre-compensation and post-compensation technique using multi-channel-chirped fiber Bragg gratings. The repeaterless transmission link supports a single channel（1548.51 nm） with a 10 Gbps repeaterless transmission system over 300 km standard single-mode fiber（SSMF）. In the system design, two distributed Raman amplifiers（DRAs） were used to improve the signal level propagated along the 300 km SSMF. The co-propagating DRA provided 15 dB on–off gain and the counter-propagating produced 32 dB on–off gain at the signal wavelength. The experiment results show that the post-compensation configuration achieves an optimal performance with a bit error rate at 1 × 10-9.

The purpose of this study is to explore and examine employees＇ perceptions of recognition and appreciation among telekom malaysia （TM） employees in Melaka and the psychological influence it has on their job satisfaction, performance, productivity, and commitment towards the organizational goals. According to one of the laws of psychology which ＂says if you want someone to repeat a behavior, you should positively recognize the behavior immediately＂. Thus, it has been positively affirmed that every human being like to be recognized and appreciated because it is an innate aspiration. Conversely, even though there is nothing complex about recognition and appreciation, studies has found that these items consistently receive the lowest ratings from employees. Furthermore, research conducted over so many eras constantly and consistently discovered that people care about fair treatment, thus, recognition and appreciation of employees must be done appropriately and timely in order for the program to be effective and efficient and achieve its full objective and set goal of motivation. The constructs that will be used in this study will be operationalized using previously-validated and originally developed measures with little or no modifications where necessary to suit the present research context while the primary data of this research will be analyzed using AMOS software.
